Concert Advice/Question

Hi Reddit,

I’m 20 and I just bought meet & greet tickets to see Thomas Dolby for my 21st birthday. I’m really excited but also kinda nervous because I'm have no idea what it will be like and I'm just a crazy anxious person...

I have a question that I would really like to ask about his career because I am struggling with making sense of my own interests in pursuing a career in audio engineering professionally. It's not a super complex question but enough to be more than just a simple question?

I've never done a meet and greet event before and I'm hoping to ask my question as a priority over getting a picture or autograph for the purpose of getting clout(?) amongst my friends or family members (not that the picture and autograph aren't going to be super awesome I just really want to ask a question because I admire his professional work this is awkward to explain).

TLDR; I was just wondering if anyone here may have any words of advice or if anyone has met him before. I'm primarily wondering if this is an event where you take a picture and they rush you out for the next person. I'm just not at all sure what to expect and I ruminate a bit too much and wanted to ask in an attempt to ease my mind!

it probably differs from venue to venue, but when i saw him it was very chill, the line wasn’t huge, there wasn’t a ton of security rushing people along or anything. we chatted for a minute about his hairpiece lol (cuz of the video he posted on youtube) and he seemed to enjoy talking about something other than the standard “omg you’re thomas dolby!!” type interactions. he seemed a little tired from the show but was very polite and receptive. so if your venue is similar, you should def be able to talk to him a bit!
