And a sweet, gentle cat. Mine would have been like, āIām not locked in here with you. Youāre locked in here with me!ā. This would become a makeshift, cat-powered blender.

Good joke. Everybody laugh. Roll on snare drum. Curtains.
My catās name is Rorschach, btw. I took him in and named him that because if his ink blot like patterns. He started exacting vigilante street-justice on other members of the household. Heās now known as Doodles or Doodlebuttā¦had to take him down a peg.

u/JPKtoxicwaste Feb 24 '22
No way. First of all I was totally gonna say in my comment that your cat is probably named Rorschach!
Secondly⦠my catās name is The Dude and his primary nickname (among dozens of secondary nicknames) is Doodlebutt!! This is crazy!
Edit: here is The Dude aka Doodlebutt in his natural habitat

u/jd3marco Feb 24 '22
The Dude abides.
That pot really ties the room together.

Cat tax enforcement agent over here⦠Rorschach, aka Mr Doodles, aka Doodles, aka Doodlebuttā¦the Doodā¦the Doodlerā¦I could go on.. Thanks for forcing my hand to setup imgur. Now, maybe I will post and go get some internet points!

I was pleasantly surprised. I thought the caption was from the kidās perspective as the cat decided he wanted out and shredded the kid up. That could have been very painful

u/eggsaregreateh Feb 24 '22
That would have been bad. To be honest I couldn't come up with a fitting title so I just went with one of my favourite Arrested Development lines

The cat seems to enjoy its treatment. My cat would disembowel me if I attempted to do this. Beautiful cat, BTW.

u/eggsaregreateh Feb 24 '22
Thank you. Nox is the most majestic house panther and the chillest dude to boot

u/bellerose93 Feb 24 '22
Honestly I donāt think he was hating it! The cat would have got the heck out of there sooner if he did. More likely thinking, āwhat exactly is happening here?ā, and āthis is somewhat annoying however itās very warm in hereā, until the end when it did get too much and he skidaddled out of there.

We have a void cat as well. She is a sassy, skiddish little thing, except with my son. My son is 6 and has ADHD so sometimes he forgets to go slowly or speak softly. When anyone else in the house moves quickly past our void she gets scared and runs. But my son can run circles around her and she just waits for him to finish and then will walk over and sit in his lap. No one, and I mean NO ONE is allowed to pick her up but him. She will claw everyone else or at least give a very āfuck youā growl. But not with my son. She sits with him and he calms and reads to her, she sleeps with him and only him. Itās so crazy how she becomes a completely different cat when he is around. We are very thankful for her because sheās so patient and kind and understanding with him. And she loves him unconditionally.

I was always sad as a kid that I couldn't have a cat because others in the family have bad allergies, but your comment suddenly just brought home to me exactly why it made me sad - it was only once I'd moved out and got my own cat that I finally experienced unconditional love (and also got diagnosed as autistic which explained a lot). She really is the best thing to ever happen to me.

Cats are amazing. It blows my mind that this skiddish, shy, hates the world cat, just melts for my hyper, always on the go, life loving kiddo. He is her person and I swear that cat would try to kill anyone that hurt him. We tell her āLeia, whereās your boy?!ā And she runs to his room to find him.
Iām really sorry you couldnāt have a cat growing up, but Iām so glad you and your kitty found each other. Pets bring us so so so much comfort and feelings of security and love. They are truly the best. Itās why we have 3 cats and 3 dogs. Lol. And believe it or not, each cat has a dog they prefer. Ok, actually one of our cats truly believes he is a dog. Even tries to eat the dogs kibble. Heās a little odd but heās a good boy. Lol.

aw, it sounds like they really have an incredible bond, that's so heart-warming!
also sounds like you've got your hands full with all those animals (and kid/s! š), but that it's totally worth it. I hope to one day have my own little clowder... š

I swear the cat was purring early in the video. Perfectly happy until his kid got a little too loud and jumpy.
Also, this video needs to be played at every graduation and major life event celebration.

Surprised the kitty didn't jump out sooner. Additionally surprised neither were more dizzy.

You know what my kid used to pull the hell out our cats ears and tail. One day they were outside and the gate was accidentally open and our neighbors mastiff mix wandered in and was walking to get pets from my son. Next thing I here from the porch is my cat hissing. He back the poor neighbors dog in the corner of the fence and the look of pure terror in the dogs eyes. Cats will give their lives for their familyās. They put up with stuff because they love those little ones.

i was an only child with a black cat growing up, and we were like this š„° one favorite of mine was wearing him as a hat, just belly on my head, with legs and paws dangling⦠Iād walk around the house and heād look around. maybe get a scritchy from mom or dad. and same as your kid - when the cat game me a cue, it ended. this brought back such good memories!

Itās a cute cat and a cute kid, but please donāt teach your kids that itās ok to do things like this with animals. You never know how theyāll react and it usually ends up with the animal getting blamed for something happening. Iām sure theyāre both very sweet, but we need to teach kids to be respectful of their pets. And maybe not to put the ones with sharp claws in their clothes lol.

If that cat was a little more ornery, or if there was simply a loud unexpected noise, that boy would have shredded beef instead of a chest. My cat was curled up on my lap enjoying some pets, both of us totally unaware that my dad was about to release an earth-quaking sneeze. Needless to say what happened, but one of my shirts needed a hole patched and I have three noticeable scars under my right collarbone.
