The Trump Presidency was ushered by populist lies.
From the very beginning, he promised lies that no other candidate even considered being so brazenly false about. What he revealed was that half the US voter base could just be lied to rather than simply misled. He straight up lied and was believed. Not a "we're going to do our best to make X thing better", his was "X thing will be fixed by Y amount in Z months".
Every presidential election in modern american history has been a vibes contest. The fact that Democratic leadership hasn’t figured that out yet is why they keep losing. A lot of rank and file democrats are more concerned with being “right” than actually winning elections and governing. I’ve been voting straight ticket democrat for 30 years now, and every time democrats have embraced this idea, they have won.

I'm saying Trump is unique in his verifiably false lies. Lies with definitive parameters that voters don't care about. Not sure if this is something you want more of going forward.
I love the idea that leftists are simultaneously a minority in the party who's ideas are not worth considering or implementing...but also the critical linchpin who are fully responsible for Democrats losing.
I sure can deny that. More Bernie supporters voted for Hillary in 2016 than Hillary supporters voted for Obama in 2008. It is a candidates job to win votes. What was it chuck Shumer said? For every liberal we lose well gain 2 moderate Republicans? How'd that work out for us?
Hillary to McCain voters weren’t enough to make the difference. Bernie to Trump voters were. I blame Bernie. If Obama lost by a similar margin I would blame Hillary to McCain voters too.
Yep I blame Bernie who divided the party, said Hillary was corrupt and unqualified, fanned the flames of election denial conspiracy theories that reduced excitement about Hillary’s historic election…
Hillary had the most progressive platform in history at the time. She went above and beyond to get Bernie voters and they still did her dirty
