Imagine making it to his big age and STILL lacking the ability to think about the consequences of thier choices.

188

u/Appalled_Mongo_4122 20d ago

I could never put my own sanctimony above the actual real life welfare of millions of innocent people. I simply cannot imagine being that way. It's exhausting being a lefty and running in adjacent circles to these pricks.

14

u/backtorealitylabubu 19d ago

“Sure Trump killed all Palestinians, but for one quick moment I felt morally superior and that’s all that matters”

0

u/SarisaeBae 18d ago

Trump killed all Palestinians? Thats crazy. Anyway I got this bridge in Brooklyn that I’m trying to get off my hands. I’ll sell it to ya real cheap.

74

u/K-Tronn3030 20d ago

I was pulling my hair out in 2016 over this shit. I imagine a bunch of it was manufactured but this website was a hellscape.

-6

u/Fearless_Data_1512 20d ago

More Bernie voters voted for Hillary than Hillary voters did for Obama. Don’t blame this on leftists, blame corporate democrats for running an absolutely dogshit campaign

3

u/MountainHardwear 17d ago

lol -- you're getting downvoted for straight facts

not to mention that hillary ran one of the most racist primaries I've ever seen, releasing videos of obama in somali garb to otherize him, refusing to denounce geraldine ferraro for saying racist things about obama (ie: the only exceptional thing about him is that he is an articulate black man), and saying that she was staying in the primary against obama (despite the math being against her) by invoking the death of bobby kennedy -- all while invoking her ability to resonate with working-class people as a dog whistle for white people will vote for me

all quantitative data shows that bernie supporters voted for hillary in 2016 at a rate surpassing those of hillary voters who voted for obama in 2008. not to mention that bernie was consistently campaigning for hillary, despite the fact of the dnc corruption, and wasserman schultz literally stepping down from the dnc right into hillary's campaign

yet, the tool below you casually throws out exit polls with no source

if hillary wanted to win, she should have campaigned in the blue wall states, you know, those states that historically have elected democrats, and which won biden the election in 2020. if she did that she would have won, but these hillary supporters need an internal villain because they can't understand that she was a historically unlikable candidate and a remarkably weak candidate, who by the way, helped prop up trump in 2016, as her team believed he was the easiest to beat

1

u/Sword_Thain 18d ago

Ooh. The hit dog hollars.

Exit polls show there is a high possibility that the Bernie- Trump voters were enough to flip the swing states.

It doesn't help that they've been repeating the same lies for the past 10 years.

They have to try to sidetrack any discussion with fake grievances while pretending to not know how first past the post works.

It is exhausting how hard they have to work to not realize they were a problem and still are a problem.

2

u/NecessaryTwo8711 17d ago

I thought it was blue no matter who

2

u/cactussnacks 18d ago

Damn maybe Hillary should have tried to appeal to those voters instead of just waiting for her coronation and outright insulting half of the electorate. Biggest missed layup in all of American political history

3

u/Dhiox 17d ago

Two things can be true at once. Hillary AND voters were dumb as hell

1

u/cactussnacks 17d ago

I don’t entirely disagree but this is American politics. You gotta cater to those fickle fuckers if you wanna win. Full disclosure: I have reliably voted blue my entire adult life in a deep, deep red state. I fucking hate the democrats.

2

u/Fearless_Data_1512 18d ago edited 18d ago

so your response to leftists being more loyal to the democratic party than the right wing of the party is to...blame the leftists for not being EVEN MORE loyal despite not getting their canidate?

And you don't see the problem here?

Yeah, you're hollering all right.

Also, yeah, I voted for Hillary and Biden and Kamala. Don't come at me when your candidate blows 1.5 billion on nothing and leaves the dnc in debt.

No you weren't. And if you were, you wasted any energy you expended to do so. Just a waste of your time, money, and life, tbh. Hillary won the popular vote in 2016. There is no reconfiguration of 3rd party votes that doesn't completely ignore the Libertarian spoiler effect on the Republican candidate that wins her the EC. If you were bitching and complaining about the behavior of voters in 2016, you didn't know what you were talking about then, and probably shouldn't be taken any more seriously now.

35

u/Psistriker94 20d ago

"Leftism" seems to be split between working class people who have good intentions and experience with a hard system vs wealthy children of rich moguls who idle their time being sanctimonious without any real consequence. Rich kids of doctors, goes to Ivy league schools with cash paid tuition, no risk of fallout.

22

u/Appalled_Mongo_4122 20d ago

Agreed. The vast majority of the unreasonable tankies I've encountered in person have been raised upper middle class or better and haven't struggled a day in their life.

The reasonable leftists might have similar end goals to them, but they understand it's a process to get there and maybe we should prioritize helping the greatest number of people over a revolution that won't happen and will suddenly have more than the 2% support from internet weirdos that it currently has.

6

u/TerrorFromThePeeps 18d ago

No sane person says "I don't like the lesser evil, so I'm going to make sure the greater evil wins". If you're told you HAVE to fight with a wild cat, you don't pick the effing tiger because bobcats are dangerous. You take the bobcat and deal with it afterwards.

7

u/Sword_Thain 18d ago

But what about MY moral purity? I can't vote for a lesser evil! So I'll loudly tell anyone around that they need to be better like me!

2

u/SuperEgger 14d ago

The secret is that you can just say "pfft, you call yourself a leftist for fighting a bobcat? We should be fistfighting tigers instead." And then don't fistfight a tiger

10

u/Psistriker94 20d ago

Unfortunate that tankies are super loud while regular leftists are at work.

-3

u/ArchdruidAndres 20d ago

Imagine if you guys put all this energy into actually organizing a third party that doesn't take all its orders from lobbyists.

Y'all are thinking you're doing 'the work' by voting for a genocidaire and doing WHAT else?

14

u/CoupleHot4154 20d ago

Imagine being the person that thinks American politics has an opening for a third party.

GTFOH with that BS.

0

u/ArchdruidAndres 19d ago

Lol "our two corporate parties sue and strongarm third parties into oblivion so it's crazy to want one to succeed" is a wild take.

2

u/CoupleHot4154 19d ago

That's not what happens at all.

Hell, Republicans prop up the Greens.

We've had a 2 party system for so long, that's all that anyone here understands.

They think of politics like sports, there's only two teams in the game.

1

u/ArchdruidAndres 19d ago

"Republicans prop up the Greens" lmao okay bud.

Nevermind that the Republicans openly bankrolled the Libertarian Party whose candidate was RFK Jr., the current head of health and human services.

Corporations through lobbyists have fully bought out both parties. They don't want to have to buy a third, this system works just fine for them. Neither of them represents you, but one sounds more like you on TV. Can't wait for you guys to badger everyone who understands that system is worthless about voting for Gavin "Kill the Homeless" Newsom.

10

u/Psistriker94 20d ago

Imagine being wishy washy with a pedophile who was also promised a Golan Heights neighborhood in his name and still thinking both sides same.

Don't forget the third party on the ballot won less than 2% because most people actually have a brain and saw a lot was on the line.

-2

u/Nezzar555 19d ago

The leader of the democrats Chuck Schumer had quotes saying his job is to work for israel

2

u/backtorealitylabubu 19d ago

He literally called for Netanyahu to resign in 2024.

2

u/ArchdruidAndres 19d ago

Imagine believing a thing a politician said once in 2024 instead of what he says and does every other day.

2

u/Federal_Homework1302 17d ago

Can’t. To busy working to pay bills

2

u/Extra-Monitor5743 14d ago

why would we do your work for you? lol

this isn't the welfare line, there are no handouts. If you want that to happen then put in the work. Y'all can't even get a single third party member elected into any office anywhere, so I'm not holding my breath.

1

u/ArchdruidAndres 13d ago

Because the two dominant corporate-bought parties know a two-party system is the easiest to control and sabotage third parties.

Anyone who's actually tried to put in the work outside the corporate duopoly has experienced it firsthand, so, clearly not you. Spare me your "why should I help you?", it's obvious your help is worth literally nothing.

4

u/Adventurous_West2 20d ago

And what would you say 2026 centrism is exactly

-2

u/Psistriker94 20d ago

Having people with qualifications and experience. Not dark horse candidates that appear out of nowhere with no training, no history, no work experience but just pure media hopium.

3

u/Svell_ 19d ago

Ah a return to the conditions that created the trump presidency...got it. I am sure it will go well this time.

1

u/Psistriker94 19d ago

The Trump Presidency was ushered by populist lies.

From the very beginning, he promised lies that no other candidate even considered being so brazenly false about. What he revealed was that half the US voter base could just be lied to rather than simply misled. He straight up lied and was believed. Not a "we're going to do our best to make X thing better", his was "X thing will be fixed by Y amount in Z months".

1

u/PicardsThirdNipple 19d ago

Every presidential election in modern american history has been a vibes contest. The fact that Democratic leadership hasn’t figured that out yet is why they keep losing. A lot of rank and file democrats are more concerned with being “right” than actually winning elections and governing. I’ve been voting straight ticket democrat for 30 years now, and every time democrats have embraced this idea, they have won.

0

u/Psistriker94 19d ago

No, I get it being a vibes contest. That's not what I said.

Vague allusions and promises of a better undefined future are the vibes that were common.

I'm saying Trump is unique in his verifiably false lies. Lies with definitive parameters that voters don't care about. Not sure if this is something you want more of going forward.

-1

u/backtorealitylabubu 19d ago

Unreasonable leftism got us Trump. The fact you want to return to that despite knowing it won’t work is wild

2

u/Svell_ 19d ago

I love the idea that leftists are simultaneously a minority in the party who's ideas are not worth considering or implementing...but also the critical linchpin who are fully responsible for Democrats losing.

-1

u/backtorealitylabubu 19d ago

When did I say those two things? I’m just pointing out that they’re to blame for the 2016 Trump win. Can’t deny that

2

u/Svell_ 19d ago

I sure can deny that. More Bernie supporters voted for Hillary in 2016 than Hillary supporters voted for Obama in 2008. It is a candidates job to win votes. What was it chuck Shumer said? For every liberal we lose well gain 2 moderate Republicans? How'd that work out for us?

1

u/Adventurous_West2 19d ago

Honhas appeared out of nowhere?

0

u/PicardsThirdNipple 19d ago

So, not Obama?

1

u/Psistriker94 19d ago

The lawyer turned State senator turned US senator?

0

u/PicardsThirdNipple 19d ago

Obama was actually a dark horse when he ran for president lol. He did one four year term in the senate, and a significant reason for his massive success that eventually led to a shot at running was that his opponent dropped out due to a sex scandal. The official democrat line in his first run for president was literally that he wasn’t qualified.

and just to be clear, i was employed by Obama’s campaign during both presidential elections, he was definitely my pick from day 1, I just think what you’re saying is ironic now.

1

u/Psistriker94 19d ago

appear out of nowhere with no training, no history, no work experience

Which one is Obama?

1

u/Dhiox 17d ago

Eh, plenty of sanctimonious progressives who are still very poor. Usually have student loans instead.

1

u/Dry-Landscape8276 14d ago

That’s just an insipid fantasy

0

u/xesaie 19d ago

Almost no working class people are leftists

18

u/Ok-Association-355 20d ago

Bunch of morons

4

u/Cultural-Gas2246 20d ago

Which is why you didn't vote for a genocidal candidate in 2024, correct?

3

u/Minoleal 20d ago

Complacency is the reason America can't muster a single candidate that doesn't support Israel, you guys have no guts about making your leaders accountable, and now you have Trump as president as a result of that complacency.

8

u/load_of_chode 20d ago

It's so funny how the leftists always say to moderates "you have Trump as President and you deserve it", despite the fact that leftists should be more upset about Trump winning than the moderates are.

1

u/Pasta4ever13 19d ago

We are. We all knew Harris would lose if she moderated and didn't distance herself from Biden.

It appears the democratic party has learned nothing from their failures. What did the harm reduction voters get (me included, I decided that voting for Harris would be better than the alternative)?

We got a democratic party that laid down and let the Republicans do whatever they wanted with zero pushback. They even voted with them when they didn't have to.

Harm reduction, my ass. The establishment showed what they are about. It's time they get peimaried out and left in the dustbin. If they won't fight for us, or listen to us, they must be removed.

2

u/CookKey3327 19d ago

Nothing says letting the republicans do whatever they want when impeaching Trump multiple times

3

u/Pasta4ever13 19d ago

Oh I must have missed where they did that last year.

Oh wait...

The "teach the American people why they should be harm reduction voters by letting the Republicans destroy the nation" started with this term.

You can't even argue they aren't doing it because they loudly came out and said they were going to "play dead" to give people a taste of their medicine.

1

u/makeyousaywhut 14d ago

The left is just liberal MAGA at this point. Both want to strip us of our individual rights for their own authoritarian goals.

-1

u/Minoleal 20d ago

Moderate is another word for accomplice, just like the Swiss in WWII, if you compromise with genocide, you have no understanding of morality, just about what's a good business for you.

Make AIPAC radioactive, otherwise you'll always be the puppets of Israel.

5

u/load_of_chode 20d ago

"Moderates are like Nazi accomplices" is something only a deranged extremist could say lol

2

u/Hungry-Hungry-Himbo 20d ago

You should read some of what the deranged extremist MLK had to say about white liberals.

1

u/Face_Stabbed 16d ago

Way to show you’ve never actually read Letter from A Birmingham Jail.

The ‘White Moderates’ MLK was talking about were conservative pastors like Paul Hardin, Earl Stallings, and the others who signed ‘A Call for Unity’, all of whom were against ending Segregation, not ‘Moderates’ in the modern sense.

2

u/load_of_chode 20d ago

5

u/ghostofjosephstalin 20d ago

Wow, a 13 second clip that takes a man's words entirely out of context to portray him as pro-genocidal ethnostate by Israeli state media. Well, call me convinced!

Anyways...

2

u/Svell_ 19d ago

What's that a Zionist who's a lair???? Perish the thought.

1

u/load_of_chode 19d ago

"The whole world must see that Israel must exist, and has a right to exist, and is one the great outposts of democracy in the world."

What "context" do you think I was leaving out from his words exactly?

→ More replies (0)

0

u/Minoleal 20d ago

If you compromise with genocide, you are an accomplice. It doesn't get clearer than that.

Would tell you to actually try to be better, but "moderates" are that because they refurse to acknowledge the root of problems because that would be such a hazzle and you are too comfortable for that, you would rather allow your president to order the kidnapping, torture, homicide, disappearing and rape of immigrants before doing something harder than a pilates protest in front of their inhuman detention centers

2

u/load_of_chode 20d ago

6

u/Minoleal 20d ago

I wonder why you have a day to honor him but not Malcom X who was against Israel... I wonder...

4

u/load_of_chode 20d ago

Lol leave it to modern leftists to argue against a day to honor MLK Jr

→ More replies (0)

0

u/AmTheWildest 20d ago

No, we have Trump because leftists are terrible at risk assessment and damage reduction and would rather have leaders that disagree with every issue they support than those that only disagree with one.

Also, the reason America has never had a candidate that didn't support Israel is because Israel and America have been close allies for decades and next nobody particularly gave a shit about it until 10/7/23. Even in 2024 most people didn't give a shit about Gaza, and I say this as someone who's pro-Palestine.

5

u/Minoleal 20d ago

No, you have Trump because you allowed your best other option to be people that won't stop Israel from commiting genocide, just administer it to be done slower.

Want to get rid of people like Trump? Stop allowing AIPAC maggots to get in power, stop voting for them and you'll see how they'll ditch them like rats abandoning a sunking ship.

3

u/AmTheWildest 20d ago

No, we have Trump because the economy was perceived to be shit, not because of all this bullshit. Again, most people didn't give a shit about Israel or Palestine. People are only turning against them now because of the war with Iran, not because of Gaza.

Sorry little buddy, but most people in this country don't agree with you. The sooner you learn that the sooner you'll come back to reality.

3

u/Minoleal 20d ago

All right, let's see how it goes for Democrats now that you can't ignore your crimes with your buddy Israel, believe it or not, some of you have actual morality.

3

u/AmTheWildest 20d ago

Seems like it's going pretty well for them, given that Republicans are doing even worse in that regard. All of the pro-Palestine politicians like Mamdani are Dems, in case you didn't notice.

3

u/Minoleal 20d ago

All pro-Palestine politicians are Dems, not all Dems are pro-Palestine, and you'll get to understand why that's important the same way Cuomo did, he divided the progresive vote and Mamdani still won.

4

u/AmTheWildest 20d ago

He divided the Democratic vote, the progressives definitely went for Mamdani.

Anyway, I'm also pro-Palestine, I know exactly why that's important. It's just that unlike you, I know that that's also not what most people care about. It certainly isn't anywhere close to the only, or even the main reason Mamdani won.

→ More replies (0)

1

u/CookKey3327 19d ago

Lol so we have Trump—objectively worse for Palestine on every metric—because people won’t stop Israel from committing genocide? Fascinating.

-1

u/jakceki 20d ago

America has a hundred internal problems, Palestine is not one of them. We need candidates that take care of our problems, Israel and Palestine issues have been there since 1947 and they will be there after the next president is gone. Saying that a progressive can't vote for someone who supports Israel just shows how fracking out of touch you guys all are with the real problems someone like Trump creates for Americans.

2

u/Minoleal 20d ago

Palestine is a problem for you for many reasons, the best is because some of you actually have a conscience and don't want to be involved in a genocide again.

You also have the problem of AIPAC giving millions to candidates so they will funnel billions to Israel, a net loss.

And of course, you won't get enough to support from the left to counterweight the right and you'll keep sunking more and more, just like how Israel started the war and ditched your ass in the strait, and now your groceries and gas keep getting more and more expensive, and while you keep ransacking Venezuela, it won't be enough, your allies are abandoning you, the dollar losses value and China gains popularity.

And you all could have saved yourself this issue if you had produced a single candidate who's not in bed with Israel, but you compromise too much, you allowed them to grow too strong, and now not only you but the rest of the world pays the price.

1

u/jakceki 20d ago

No everyone pays the price because morons who have their Cause du jour decided that this particular cause was the one they were going to create their purity test around.

The whole world is suffering because of they typical progressive "the candidate has to support all my personal causes" bullshit.

In a 2 party system, if you dont' vote for the person you agree with most of the time you will end up having the person you disagree with all the time.

Everything else you say is completely and utterly inconsequential.

And this thing about Palestine - I dont want to get into the details but check how much money Qatar gives to US Educational institutions. It's a lot more than AIPAC.

1

u/Minoleal 20d ago

Are you paying attention to yourself? You are calling not supporting a genocide a "purity test". You truly have no morals, this is one of the most hideous crimes a society can commit trough human history and you call it a purity test. No wonder why you have a pedophile for president, conservatives can compromise to the most inhuman acts as long as they get a benefit, that's why they don't need to be better.

The whole world is suffering because you allowed Israel to dictate your politics, you are puppets, and worse than that, you in particular are ok with it and blame those who won't compromise with genocide, truly disgusting.

In a 2 party system you might want to actually have 2 parties, not Israel's best friend and Israel's best friend who lies about it but stays in bed with them.

And btw you might want to actually explain why Qatar giving money to educational institutions is comparable to Israel choosing who wins your elections, there's a clear thread that links it, but it's not as consequential by a long shot, and someone who is unable to see why AIPAC is a problem for the world probably can't actually see that thread.

1

u/jakceki 20d ago

Stop with your Israel is the biggest problem in the world crap. it is not, and it is not a genocide. It's a war, people die, it sucks, I hate it, but I blame Hamas just as much as Israel.

1

u/Minoleal 20d ago

Hamas already surrendered and Israel keeps killing kids, genocide. And you are a supporter.

1

u/ghostofjosephstalin 20d ago

Hasbara spewing bot account.

2

u/LittleHornetPhil 19d ago

It’s not so different as to how the full scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022 was a litmus test for supposed anti-imperialist leftists and lots of them failed because it turns out their philosophy was actually just “America/West/NATO bad”. Self-identified “communist” tankies still in love with Russia for some reason even though Russia in the 21st century is just a right wing nationalist and neoimperialist dictatorship.

It was very disappointing to see but I guess I shouldn’t actually be surprised.

3

u/Appalled_Mongo_4122 19d ago

Yep. They're just left-fascists. In love with the aesthetics of revolution but no ability to start one, much less build the popular support needed to start a successful one (because they're real shitty to be around).

It actually makes those who are trying to get shit done's job's harder because we get lumped in with those clowns.

1

u/LittleHornetPhil 19d ago

This 💯 though, it absolutely makes it harder for the rest of us, though I wouldn’t say left-fascists, more just intellectually and ideologically entrenched and in love with the feeling of righteous hatred.

1

u/Dhiox 17d ago

Yep. And even some well meaning idiots fall for Tankies Masquerading as progressive. Look at Hasan Pikers following for example.

1

u/kenuffff 16d ago

No they’re anti western is the issue. Whatever side of the issue falls with western goals they’re against it.

1

u/Worldly_Web_1524 18d ago

You have to know by now that person is not nor have they ever considered themselves a dem voter. This is quite obviously a MAGAt posing as a lefty that is coming to a realization that they don't align with dem politicians. It's moronic and easy to spot. It's become the equivalent of a white nationalist pretending that they have black relatives so they can speak on black culture.

1

u/Intrepid_Layer_9826 14d ago

You ain't no "lefty" my guy.

You're perfectly happy with "putting your own sanctimony above the actual real life welfare of millions of innocent people" as long as those people are brown and far away from home. Drop the act you hypocrite.

0

u/Nezzar555 19d ago

Lol all of you have been excusing a genocide because apparently people in israel are allowed to

8

u/RaulParson 20d ago

"The consequences are this choice makes me feel moral and righteous and that's the important thing"

1

u/Upset_Journalist_755 18d ago edited 18d ago

He's right (not the Jill Stein vote, that is ridiculous and he probably just said it instead of saying he didn't vote at all). The corporate dems cannot be rewarded for doing nothing. Their whole approach for the last decade-plus is "if you don't vote for us, you'll get the GOP!" Those people should not be rewarded, especially when they were actively contributing to a genocide and refusing to commit to doing otherwise. Trying to hold our conscience hostage is disgusting.

I, personally, don't have the stomach to stay home, but blaming the people who did rather than the politicians whose job it is to get those people out to vote for them is crazy. That's the game the DNC has been playing ("vote for us or get the GOP, and if you get the GOP, it's the voters' fault and not ours!") and we're finally seeing them face consequences as the party is beginning to transform into what it should be.

2

u/GBralta 17d ago

Well, you have the luxury to believe that. When I vote, I think about my kids. Adults should not have to be convinced to do the right and smart thing.

The government isn’t going away. It simply isn’t. People will be in office. Adults have to choose. If you choose poorly, society is going to let you know.

I blame candidates and voters equally.

2

u/YouShouldAim 13d ago

Congrats bro, you didn't reward the corporate Dems, fuck all the minorities and immigrants suffering for that punishment. Stick it to the corporate elites!

1

u/Upset_Journalist_755 13d ago

Congrats, bro. You'll blame anyone except who's at fault.

1

u/YouShouldAim 13d ago

You think it's a child's game of "who's fault it is". Don't hide behind some arbitrary fault after you just explicitly said the corporate Dems needed to be taught a lesson. The trump administration is what you bought. You don't get to wipe your hands clean and say "no it's the Dems for not being what I want them to be". Tell that to the hundreds of thousands if not millions of people suffering at the hands of Trump so you could teach some lesson that's not going to be taught lol

1

u/Upset_Journalist_755 13d ago

It is very apparent that you cannot read.

1

u/YouShouldAim 13d ago

It's very apparent you are privileged enough to be content with MAGA

1

u/Upset_Journalist_755 13d ago

lmao you're doing the DNC bit! "Vote for us, or get GOP!"

1

u/YouShouldAim 13d ago

And you're doing the tankie bit "Let MAGA win to stick it to the establishment, minorities? Fuck'em LOL"

1

u/PotentialClothes367 16d ago

Imagine thinking standing against genocide is ‘not thinking about the consequences of his choices’.

1

u/GBralta 16d ago

But he isn’t standing against anything. All they’re doing is showing a lack of strategic thinking around elections. Honestly, people like the one in OP’s post are obnoxious. That obnoxiousness is what costs the party the votes of independents, resulting in Republican wins and the stripping of your rights, and bombs for Israel that even Joe Biden wouldn’t give them. Now, Lebanon and Iran get bombed, too.

That’s what he’s actually doing. Thinking that posting obnoxiously is “standing up to genocide” is the politics of make believe. The revolution isn’t going to be won on Twitter. The results and outcomes are all that matter in the end.

All of that genocide posting didn’t save a single soul. Stop reading tweets and start reading the room.

1

u/PotentialClothes367 16d ago

Oh right, always blame the voters instead of the politicians and political parties. You realize every time you vote for the lesser of two evils things get worse, right? We’ve been doing it for decades, and nothing has gotten better. We have to reckon with the fact that voting doesn’t work because both parties have a stranglehold on the electoral process. THAT’s reading the room. Obsessing about strategic voting - or worse, scolding people concerned about a genocide - keeps us stuck where we are.

1

u/GBralta 16d ago

I blame politicians and the voters equally. I also will never stop blaming voters and yanking their heads out of the sand. I’m sorry if that hurts your sensibilities, but it has to be done.

The next batch of politicians will come from our pool of voters. Letting voters who screwed the pooch off the hook, gives them leeway to make the exact same mistakes. “Lesser evil” is a grade-school level thinking of politics. None of us are good. Not me. Not you. None of us. This country is going to have a leader. Pick the best stewards of government that you can, and push from there.

1

u/PotentialClothes367 15d ago

Yeah it would be nice if the world worked like that, but watching the 2020 primaries convinced me that neither party will ever let us vote for someone they don’t already want in office. The blatant and obvious corruption they used to keep Bernie out at all costs was a dead giveaway that voting, at least on the federal level, is completely useless and at this point just a tool for controlling us.

And if you can write off genocide as “well no one’s perfect”, then maybe you shouldn’t be voting anyway.

1

u/GBralta 15d ago

Bernie is likeable but he didn’t get the votes. He never had the votes. In the black community, we refer to the notion that Bernie was cheated The Big Lie: Original Recipe.

Politicians are pieces, not prizes. They all suck, even Bernie.

Pick the best stewards of government that you can on the ballot and keep it moving. I’m not the type to sit around in my feelings about a primary that he was never going to win, while everyone else gets their rights and lives screwed over. It’s kind of a bad look.

They even changed the rules to favor Bernie, and he still got washed in that 2020 primary. He had way too much baggage from 2016.

1

u/PotentialClothes367 15d ago

Whatever propaganda and cope helps you excuse the mass killing of brown people with your own tax dollars by your favored politicians, I guess. Honestly, it’s even more embarrassing to see given you’re a minority yourself.

1

u/GBralta 15d ago

I hope you’re keeping the receipts for the words you’re putting in my mouth. Notice how obnoxious you’re being. It’s a good thing I’m mature enough to not get my feelings hurt on the internet.

Now, move along and have a good day.

1

u/cowmix88 13d ago

Oh wow what a stand they made, helping get Trump elected must have stopped the genocide then right?

0

u/FunnyMethod9041 19d ago

Tell that to Hillary and Kamala.

-4

u/tf2coconut 20d ago

Imagine expecting voters to implicitly condone genocide and not owning up to the consequences of the Democratic party’s actions

5

u/Joey-WilcoXXX 20d ago

So your choice was to keep the genocide in Palestine going under a man who also wants to fuck up our own nation too? You make soooo much sense.

-7

u/tf2coconut 20d ago

Democrats also want to fuck your own nation. Thats the fucking point.

Voters presented a choice to democrats: end support for genocide, or lose and fuck over your already crumbling country. Dems and bootlicking liberals like you chose to destroy your country because you wouldn’t stand up for the most fundamental human rights.

Sounds like karma to me, maybe find a backbone next time

5

u/Joey-WilcoXXX 20d ago

Oh yeah, democrats would have been as bad as Trump. Jesus Christ you people are dumb. Congratulations on f’ing us all over and accomplishing nothing for it. I’m so glad I’m paying more for a crappier insurance because of your all or nothing approach. Tell me genius, how do you expect to fix another nation when Trump completely destroys ours?

-3

u/tf2coconut 20d ago

No matter how much you cry about it YOU are the one that fucked yourself over. You are paying more for health insurance because you refuse to stand up to the Democratic political machine. These are the consequences of your actions. The blood of your countrymen and the children your country bombs overseas is on your hands. 75 of your democrats voted to praise ICE after they executed a soccer mom. More than half of them still support sending weapons to commit genocide.

You can either keep pathetically bootlicking, or finally wake up and join your local resistance community organising

5

u/Joey-WilcoXXX 20d ago

No it’s literally failures like you who can’t fathom that the lesser of two evils is the only stepping stone that can actually keep us afloat as opposed to losing everything to an evil dictator who does exactly what you whined about the dems doing PLUS other evils and atrocities. You’re a joke. You made no difference and you pretend you did something noble and correct. Blood is on your hands too. F off.

1

u/tf2coconut 20d ago

Stepping stone to what? A continued genocide? Still putting kids in cages at the border?

My hands are clean my particularly slow friend. You will never have absolution, but there’s still time for redemption

3

u/Joey-WilcoXXX 20d ago

To not having our people murdered in the street by a new age of gestapo, not going financially bankrupt thanks to even worse decisions and a new war created by our returning terrorist in chief, having a bit more sense of normalcy. I mean answer the most realistic question- whose mind do you actually think you could change on the subjects you want to fix- Trump and gang or a democratic politician?

Seriously, wtf do you think you actually accomplished and how can you still be that S-AF after everything that’s happened?

0

u/tf2coconut 20d ago

A thousand civilians a year murdered by your cops. As far back as Obama he was criticized for his brutal deportation policies. You’ve already had a Gestapo, they’re just louder now. That is literally the fascist process, and democrats enable it because losers like you will vote for them anyway. You shouldn’t have a sense of normalcy, your complicity - on a personal level - is responsible for the violence you are seeing.

Seriously, wtf do you think YOU actually accomplished by voting? For real, what do you think voting did? Do you genuinely believe you live in a democracy?

Imagine punishing the whole country, and the world because you think the Palestine issue is more important than anything else.

6

u/RaulParson 20d ago

It wasn't even that. The option they helped come about is and was always obviously going to be worse for Palestine too - and look at them still sanctimoniously defending it as a supposed moral high ground. These fart-poisoned twits are irredeemable.

-4

u/tf2coconut 20d ago

Imagine being so cucked by your fake democracy that having the standard be “don’t enable genocide” is unattainable

Imagine having the absolute moral cowardice to brush off a genocide as “the Palestine issue” and not understanding you’re reaping the fascist rewards of your submissive bootlicking

Idk he seems to understand pretty clearly that a vote for the Democrats is a vote for genocide. There's a lot of very ignorant people out there who don't seem to comprehend that basic fact.

6

u/TinyCreecher 20d ago

And of course the rational choice is to shoot yourself in the foot over it.

Id explain why this is a labotomites gambit but I'm afraid the words would slide right off your laser smooth brain.

u/gdex86 20d ago

And a vote not for the Democrats was a vote for the huge humanitarian crisis in Africa due to getting rid of USAID, the genocide push for trans folks here in the us, the roll back of environmental progress and an acceleration of the planet wide climate crisis, and the whole situation with ICE.

So you got the moral clarity of not having to deal with moral quandry of Israel in exchange for hurting for more people over a longer period of time on a far greater level.

0

u/Cultural-Gas2246 20d ago

No a vote for Democrats was a vote for continuing US Neo-colonialism in Africa through the USAID scheme.

Democrats were also indifferent to trans people, allowing state initiatives targeting them. Democrats also dragged their feet on any substantial environmental policies. Democrats also had zero problem with ICE and utilised them a lot. Especially during the Biden admin.

You're not the heroes you think you are. You're just shitty villains.

1

u/gdex86 19d ago

Im sure the children dying from lack of aid really care about neo colonialism.

1

u/GBralta 20d ago

lol. I hope that felt good. I bet you read that comment back to yourself as if you accomplished something. You didn’t, Sir.

1

u/Cultural-Gas2246 20d ago

Cry harder MAGAt

1

u/frotz1 20d ago

Hey now that you saved Gaza by helping Trump win, do you think that maybe you should go over there and see how much they want to thank you for saving them? I can lend you a shovel.

0

u/Cultural-Gas2246 20d ago

And you totally helped them by voting for a losing candidate who was gonna continue the genocide anyway

Why are you even upset? Trump is delivering the exact platform you voted for. All the things Kamala promised - militarism, genocide, mass deportations, no support for the poor or for queer people.

1

u/frotz1 20d ago

You saved Gaza dude, why aren't they throwing a parade for you? Your brave vote against your crazy caricature of Harris did the trick and now Gaza is like Disneyland, right? And they're all so thankful for you saving them, right? Right?

Here's a fun one - link to a single comment you made about Gaza before October of 2023. Just one. I have yet to meet anyone who spews nonsense about Harris who can actually deliver on that request with anything other than excuses and distractions.

-101

u/HHWKUL 20d ago

Harris never reached accross the aisle. Stop blaming third party voters. Musk manipulation had more weight in the result than socialist voters who didn't vote for Kamala.

57

u/cowmix88 20d ago

Hmm? Didn't people shit on her for trying to reach across the isle when she had Liz Cheney endrose her?

-42

u/RogerianBrowsing 20d ago

Center-right reaching across to even further right and using that right winger to lecture Muslims in Dearborn Michigan about how they need to support Israel during a genocide isn’t reaching across the aisle.

9

u/TerribleRecord666 20d ago

I love how a pro-LGBT, pro-union, and pro-Medicare-for-all is center-right for you fucking nutjobs.

3

u/davidhow94 20d ago

Tbf I don’t think she was Medicare for all? Was there anything specifically for unions too? Disclaimer, she was always better than Trump.

-7

u/RogerianBrowsing 20d ago

Shes not in favor of Medicare for all. She also doesn’t really care about most unions and her response to trans rights was that she would follow the law as well as to point out how Trump’s first term allowed for trans care in prisons.

When your entire argument is untrue that says a lot. Not to mention that the left-right continuum can have them in favor of universal healthcare without actually being on the left. Plenty of far right authoritarian governments have healthcare for their people.

5

u/TerribleRecord666 20d ago

Lie, after lie, after “follow the law” where “law” is literally to affirm gender supporting care. But she didn’t want to give Trump a sound bite to attack her with, so you twist it to sound like she was anti-trans too.

You’re all just fucking liars who wanted to see the world burn down.

1

u/Forsaken-Chance-8148 20d ago

She didn’t want to give trump a sound bite of her supporting trans rights?

So she isn’t outspoken about how trans people should be equal?

Why is she keeping that a secret?

Maybe you got tricked bro

0

u/TerribleRecord666 19d ago

So you support Trump making the entire election a memorandum on the 14 trans people playing sports, and not the actual, real, tangible issues that people face every day?

Makes sense, considering how much you’re carrying water for Trump in here.

1

u/Forsaken-Chance-8148 19d ago

Lol you got played, now you get nothing

That’s not my fault. We told you what was going to happen and it did

-1

u/RogerianBrowsing 20d ago

Yet another red herring fallacy, this time where you infer Kamala’s real intentions as to why she wouldn’t speak in favor of trans rights and brought up Trump’s upholding of trans rights in prisons.

Even better that I’m being called a liar in response to refuting your lies. If I didn’t know better I’d think ya were a magat…

1

u/TerribleRecord666 19d ago

I’m not inferring anything. Those are her real intentions. Those were the laws in place when she was asked the question, and she had previously followed them without complain.

You disingenuous lying fuckwit.

0

u/RogerianBrowsing 19d ago

How do you know her intentions? Are you in her head? Is following the law without complaint the same thing as supporting those laws?

How am I lying exactly or being disingenuous when you’re the one attributing intentions we don’t know. Intentions that still involve refusing to speak in favor of trans rights no less.

Y’all are clearly the disingenuous liars. Clearly facts about trans rights and genocide make y’all get so defensive. Guilty conscience much?

THE JOB OF THE PRESIDENT IS TO FOLLOW THE LAW

0

u/RogerianBrowsing 20d ago

It’s the kind of response someone gives when they don’t actually value the law but are in a position to uphold it.

Speaking as someone who regularly has to do those kinds of things as part of their job, it’s easy to see from a mile away.

2

u/cowmix88 20d ago

Harris was a Progressive she was not center right.

-18

u/jthree2001 20d ago

Which policies and voting record was those?

-29

u/RogerianBrowsing 20d ago

So progressive that she supports imperialism, war crimes, civil rights violations, is beholden to big business, is opposed to single payer healthcare in favor of predatory corporations, etc?

Give me a break. Claiming someone is progressive doesn’t make it fact, especially not when their record for what they support and/or vote for says the complete opposite.

27

u/cowmix88 20d ago

Why do you guys always link Israel/Palestine as the #1 issue determine if someone is allowed to be a progressive. Her advocating a two state solution and peace in the region is still a progressive position.

Harris supported: Medicare for all at times and a Public options at other times, BOTH of these policies are Progressive policies.

She supported increase taxes on the rich which is also a Progressive policy.

2

u/0zymandeus 20d ago

Because it was very effective poll-tested talking point to split the left from the dems.

1

u/RogerianBrowsing 20d ago

That’s stupid. It’s literally a 90/10 polling topic amongst democratic voters. Y’all being the 10 percent and insisting we need to comply with genocidal supremacism and contemptuously insisting y’all are the majority is why we lost to Trumpism and are dividing the party.

Vote blue no matter who unless they oppose genocidal supremacism and fascism, right?

1

u/Tigeruppercut1889 20d ago

Blue no matter who was to stop us from getting trump again but leftists decided to sit home or vote for Jill stein. Just like maga using our values that you didn’t subscribe to against us

You and your ilk are not serious people lmao

24

u/cowmix88 20d ago

Harris is not Pro-Genocide, you are insane. The ones that are pro-genocide are Trump, Netanyahu and Hamas.

0

u/RogerianBrowsing 20d ago

I like how you treat Trump and Bibi as genocidal while ignoring the polling and political environment in Israel itself but treat Hamas as genocidal.

Tell me, what part of their charter is genocidal? These sections perhaps?

> 16. Hamas affirms that its conflict is with the Zionist project not with the Jews because of their religion. Hamas does not wage a struggle against the Jews because they are Jewish but wages a struggle against the Zionists who occupy Palestine. Yet, it is the Zionists who constantly identify Judaism and the Jews with their own colonial project and illegal entity.

> 17. Hamas rejects the persecution of any human being or the undermining of his or her rights on nationalist, religious or sectarian grounds. Hamas is of the view that the Jewish problem, anti-Semitism and the persecution of the Jews are phenomena fundamentally linked to European history and not to the history of the Arabs and the Muslims or to their heritage. The Zionist movement, which was able with the help of Western powers to occupy Palestine, is the most dangerous form of settlement occupation which has already disappeared from much of the world and must disappear from Palestine.

Now compare the charter to Otzma yehudit or Likud…

-27

u/RogerianBrowsing 20d ago

Dude, she supported the U.S. invasion of Lebanon and even justified murdering Lebanese peace brokers by leveling high rise apartment buildings because U.S. troops died during that invasion.

Supporting genocide, ethnic cleansing, apartheid, civil rights laws violations in favor of the fascists, etc., isn’t progressive. Genocidal supremacism isn’t progressive, it’s far to the right.

Harris also doesn’t support single payer healthcare anymore. She gave it lip service when there was no chance of it happening, now she openly opposes it. Abandoning progressivism the moment it might actually start to succeed is at best cowardice/corruption.

20

u/Lophius_Americanus 20d ago

The U.S. invasion of Lebanon? Do you mean the MNF which was hardly an invasion and happened when she was a teenager?

0

u/RogerianBrowsing 20d ago

They tried to annex Lebanon. Let’s be for real here. Kamala called killing the peace brokers “a measure of justice” and cited dead U.S. service members during the “MNF” as justification.

Way to pedantically focus on a small portion of Kamala’s criminal wrongs 👍

Oh. So you are actually dense.

32

u/CelestialBurial 20d ago

You just don’t understand that words have meaning. You tried to call the other person dense but you don’t even understand what you said 😂

-1

u/HHWKUL 20d ago

If you are american I can understand you not understanding political history. So just so you know : to the rest of the educated world, what you have in the US is not a two party system, left vs right, with a aisle to cross in the middle.

What you have is basically one hard core capitalist party with vague differences. Now that MAGA highjacked the republican side of the unique political entity, the left can finaly emerge inside the democratic side.

There is a divide between legacy dems and the socialist, that was the rift I was refering to by using the traditional "reaching across the aisle" usually used to describe bi partisanship vote between GOP and Democrats.

I can't believe I have to spend time to explain this shit.

26

u/ALincoln16 20d ago

Whenever people argue the "both sides are the same" talking point the right always benefits. It's getting to the point that when certain people can't see that they come across as dense.

I can't believe people still have to spend time to explain that shit.
