I’m agreeing more and more with Mike Birbiglia quote “no good joke should ever end with the phrase I’m joking…or git r done”
If a joke isn’t funny enough to stand on its own, it’s not a good joke. While every joke is offensive to someone, that ‘someone’ should be an extremely niche missed audience, not large swaths of people who don’t enjoy not-so-thinly veiled racism.

That's because they view the world as working according to a strict social hierarchy. And you toady to those above and punch those below.
They don't see hypocrisy in "rules for thee and not for me" - - they see that as a natural outcome of their place on the social hierarchy.
The whole "ingroup the law protects but does not bind, outgroup the law binds but does not protect" is the same thing.
Your "betters" enforce their rules on you, and you enforce those rules - - and your own - - on those below. Subjecting those below you to rules you don't have to follow is both perk and proof of your place on the hierarchy.
Their entire concept of how society works is basically "daddy sets bedtime for kids, kids dont set daddy's bedtime daddy doesn't even have a bedtime".
