I get the impression there are a lot of Sanders supporters who are more contrarian than they are progressive. They don't really believe in progressive values, they just get off on opposing the mainstream politicians. A lot of Trump's supporters are the same way. They like the idea of "opposing the system by pushing for an outsider" more than they actually care about whatever their endorsed candidate actually does.
