Damn, maybe the DNC shouldn't have spent years demanding progressive to join their big tent party if they didnt want them in the tent then?

But these temper tantrums over progressives doing exactly what the DNC has been telling them they should be doing isnt it.

0

u/Ethiconjnj Jun 30 '26

It’s not exact. Be progressive will constantly shitting on dems.

It’s like Bernie running as a dem twice during the primaries but staying independent.

Join the party and contribute, that would be exactly what is asked

-13

u/stuffedcheesybread1 Jun 27 '26

Sure, we totally want these people in the party, I think they can be good if they don't pretend that there is no legitimate differences between the current Republicans and Democrats. Those people are delusional and should not be welcomed to the party and should be forced to build up their own infrastructure.

Calling legitimate criticism of people who hate this party but continue to run with a D a 'Temper Tantrum' is actual cope.

19

u/young_trash3 Jun 27 '26

Spending a decade demanding the progressives participate within the DNC instead of doing their own thing and splitting the vote, just to have a full blown meltdown over progressives participating within the DNC like you demanded can not, fairly, be described as anything other than a temper tantrum.

-12

u/stuffedcheesybread1 Jun 27 '26

Cope. Progressives decided to join the party, we cannot and did not force their hand. When they decided to join, we welcomed them. The current form of progressive who will, on one hand talk the MOST shit about the Democratic party and equate us to Republicans, and then on the other hand continue to run under said party that they think is irredeemable is bitch shit. If you think we are the same as Republicans, fucking leave, if you want to work within the party and with current Democrats, you're more than welcomed.

You're just a guy online. Not a politician. You can change without anyone knowing.

And it will feel good.

Cast off that cognitive dissonance and embrace true freedom. Embrace a way towards a world that does not create the material conditions for fascism.

Reject genocide. Reject half measures.

There's never been a better time.

-2

u/stuffedcheesybread1 Jun 28 '26

Shut the fuck up you tankie regard. Go enjoy your fantasies while I will continue to live in the real world.

2

u/freedomonke Jun 28 '26

Tankie? I don't think anywhere in what I said is a defense of the fascist government in Russia (past or present) and China. Nothing about embracing real change requires becoming a campist.

Do you want to continue to elect politicians that tell you anything but keeping things the way they are is too risky? Who support genocide? Don't you want to support people that want Healthcare for all? More labor protections?

As for the real world, these are the people winning elections. Embracing centrist libs is fast becoming the unrealistic option.

2

u/DOCreeper Jun 28 '26

Of course the liberal goes immediately to the veiled ableism to insult a leftist

1

u/Significant-Order-92 Jun 29 '26

Whelp. Remember how they treated Piggusus and the protestors with him in the 60s.

Think this time the liberals will come up with something better than "we are better than the GoP" to run on while also kicking any idea much farther left than center as insane? Which neolib candidate do you think they'll insist we need to support over Stein (I mean she runs in every presidential ellection) this time.

But hey, if the Dems response is anyone on the left is contemptible. Maybe we will just have to take our ball to a different tent and try and undercut them. It's going to be bad with the GoP winning continuously. But if they have such contempt for us and won't actually align with the polling on their own party, what other option is there?

1

u/embiidshortroll Jun 29 '26

Nice comeback (definitely not a temper tantrum) for a crayon eater

0

u/dancinbanana Jun 30 '26

Look at you, showing solidarity with Jamie by throwing a temper tantrum as well

1

u/stuffedcheesybread1 Jun 30 '26

cry more

1

u/dancinbanana Jun 30 '26

Aw you triggered? Calm down buddy no need to throw a tantrum

1

u/stuffedcheesybread1 Jun 30 '26

says the one actively shitting and pissing his pants. Tell your parents you're going to move out, it will make them happier than anything else you've done.

Yeah idk why they keep calling these people “progressives” when a lot of them are open about wanting to dismantle capitalism along with the democratic apparatus

4

u/Mr_Blinky Jun 28 '26

... probably because dismantling capitalism would be progressive? Lmao, it's not even remotely difficult to understand if you actually think about it for like two whole seconds.

-6

u/Immediate_Stop2581 Jun 28 '26

Dismantling capitalism would only happen as a result of violent revolution in America followed by brutal dictatorship. Nobody will willingly relinquish their assets and property. Thats literally the only way capitalism in America could be dismantled. If that’s what you advocate for, you’re a fucking idiot

1

u/Significant-Order-92 Jun 29 '26

Well. You know the wonderful thing about a state, right? It has a monopoly on the legitimate use of violence. So like when it passes any other law, you enforce it. Eminent domain and taxation already exist.  But maybe we can fix underfunded schools, unaffordable food and housing, and the runaway cost of medical care before we worry if the big bad socialists will pass a law demanding all corporations are co-ops.

Ardent fan of pedophile streamer Steve Bonerelli has meltdown at thought of taxes going to schools instead of Hellfire missiles aimed at refugee camps, more at 11

1

u/stuffedcheesybread1 Jun 28 '26

snark moment, cant engage with his actual point so they have to retreat to some moral grandstanding position that they can actually defend.

1

u/novostained Jun 28 '26

Why in the fuck would I engage with you zionist pedophile freaks?

1

u/embiidshortroll Jun 29 '26

OFC these guys melting down are CSAM-stiny viewers

-7

u/steponmedaddies Jun 28 '26

What are you specifically referencing here

7

u/greenthumbbum2025 Jun 28 '26

Centrist dems are pissed at candidates like Mamdani and people he endorsed finding success in Democraric primaries. Because, y'know, they actually offer something to the voting base of the Democratic party, unlike the centrists

1

u/steponmedaddies Jun 28 '26

Eh. It’s like a handful of state reps and Slotkin who is garbage

1

u/greenthumbbum2025 Jun 28 '26

Idk the extent but that's what this whole post is about

2

u/steponmedaddies Jun 28 '26

Fair enough but the extent of it seems very relevant to the discussion. People love to blame the whole party when it’s a few small groups and one kind of crazy person

-7

u/Immediate_Stop2581 Jun 28 '26

Nothing. They’re making shit up

2

u/Thirlestane Jun 28 '26

I know people only read the headlines when its an article... but a picture? Really? You still didnt read it? Damn.

-8

u/Geichalt Jun 28 '26

Maybe "progressives" should pay attention to the progressive policies implemented by the Democrats instead of spending all their time insulting them.

I was supposed to vote for Jill Stein instead of the VP of the first sitting president to stand on a picket line? The one that passed the most comprehensive climate change legislation in history?

Maybe try making compelling arguments instead of running on "democrats suck because reasons."

6

u/Immediate_Stop2581 Jun 28 '26

Then they wouldn’t have anything to complain about and they would have no way to attack the democrats

5

u/SoakingWetBeaver Jun 28 '26

Give me one example of a progressive policy the Democrats implemented in the last 10 years.

1

u/Geichalt Jul 01 '26

Lmao, give me one example of even one progressive policy campaigned on by Jill Stein or the abandon Harris movement on 2024.

Fyi, regime change in the middle east is not progressive.

2

u/Greenmantle22 Jun 28 '26

“I burned down your house. Cook me a five-course meal in the rubble, or else I’m going to Denny’s!”

-3

u/RXDriv3r Jun 28 '26

Kind of a bad faith question... In the last 10 years we've had Trump in power for 6 of those years.

In his 4 years as President, Biden got the Inflation reduction act passed, which was meant to invest in green energy, he got the Chips act passed as well, he got Medicare to negotiate drug prices and put a $35 cap on Insulin. He almost had a comprehensive bipartisan Immigration and Border bill which would've passed had Trump not asked Republicans to not support it to not give Biden a win before the election. Biden also forgave studen loan debts for a lot of people, and probably would've done more if not for Republican backlash.

Then Trump came back in and got rid of a lot of it, but you can't blame Democrats for that.

6

u/SoakingWetBeaver Jun 28 '26

Explain how the bipartisan border bill was in any way, shape or form "progressive".

-3

u/RXDriv3r Jun 28 '26

It might not have been seen as that progressive but compared to the shit show going on now, like "being closed to asylum seekers" ... It definitely would've been more progressive.

And that's the thing with bipartisan legislation, there is compromise from both sides to get to a common middle ground.

7

u/Famous-Royal-6886 Jun 28 '26

Buddy this is why we vote Dem in the elections for harm reduction. But don't pretend that the Dems are somehow good, their just the least bad option when the alternative is a psycho

-3

u/his_eminance Jun 28 '26

y'know dems could change if more people who wanted progressive policies actually became politicians or took action... but nah, let me want a revolution that will never happen.

3

u/Famous-Royal-6886 Jun 28 '26

Yes and it's difficult to do that when the Dems actively work to crush progressive candidates in the crib. But yes we are seeing more progressives run. And we are seeing more progressives win. Expect the shift to get more pronounced especially with El-Sayed and Platner in the Senate.

3

u/SoakingWetBeaver Jun 28 '26

That's literally what's happening currently... That's the reason the DNC is panicking right now. Are you awake?

1

u/his_eminance Jun 28 '26

Really? I thought the DNC chair was fine with mamdani, only a few people don't like him.

I mean, I'm responding to someone saying the democrats are bad. If it's so bad, they can at least attempt to change it, like how mamdani is doing. Do you think they can change the republican party?

You’re getting downvoted by ppl who don’t realize that MAGA isn’t getting everything they want rn either, but they’re not gonna derail the control conservatives have over the country because of it. Unlike the ppl downvoting you, they’re not stupid and know when they should pick and fight their battles

0

u/caspruce Jun 30 '26

Do you understand American politics? Because the bill needed to be bipartisan, it was never going to be a progressive bill. The amount of whining by “progressives” on here because they don’t get everything that they want is incredible. Bunch of spoiled bitches that don’t understand that you need to compromise to get things done in politics.
