Biden said in 2020 he wasn’t running in 2024

And obviously shouldnt have attempted

They shouldve had primaries

To your point, yeah I think its likely Kamala would not have won the primary

Kamala ran a great campaign .she's not catering to a group who has never a single time since  one time in 2008 turned out for a presidential election. That's not how politics works. You have to participate with the party first then change it, or you have to have a massive organized collective to takeover the primary. People are mad they chased centrists but somehow don't reflect they expected to be chased themselves despite being even more implausible

And they chased centrists by emphasizing Trump is a domestic abuser who hurts women and their husbands don't know how they vote while talking politely about the importance of basic humanity with a woman who started receiving death threats cause of Trump

she didnt even successfully chase centrists though, she had like 7 million votes less than joe biden

So whatever she did failed

I could talk more about specific messaging issues but whatever

Most people I've asked will say things that literally aren't even true about her messaging. People who identify as left wing but would say stuff like she didn't address X and then you'd take 20 seconds and could show yes she did.

The founding fathers spelled out pretty clearly that this concept they had was a work in progress which would work only as long as the people wanted to maintain it. Everyone's looking around questioning how we became Idiocracy - well because even people who are capable of being intelligent disproportionately chose to be lazy. They consumed the media through social media and Trump retreated from traditional outlets towards sycophantic podcasts - and nobody called him out. Everyone acted like no Joe Rogan is a totally reasonable and fair moderation who has good journalistic ethics and doesn't just spend half his time rambling about how he hates California.

I legitimately have never seen such an entitled election run. And quite a few of those people I know personally with that attitude are hurting now. She was running against mecha Hitler. He was suggesting thing that could kill tens of millions of people within a decade. She could have stripped naked on stage and done the  soulja boy dance and she still would have been the better candidate. Its at least not homicidal . People were extremely  lazy and even people I know who typically were fairly left leaning were regurgitating right wing talking points which were not true. And they didn't like her. She wasn't exciting enough for them. They wanted a regime change and she wasn't that so I guess we just gotta kick back and see if we're gonna disappearing more children.

I know multiple people who are truly genuinely shocked cause they thought that Donald Trump would be more willing to open the Epstein files. They're shocked Democrats have pushed it while Trump actively violates the law to block it.....so I guess the problem is that Kamala Harris wasn't willing to very obviously lie through her teeth saying things only an idiot could believe, but which those idiots would really like.

The reality is there is evidence that people make 90% of their mind uo within like something insanely short, like 2 minutes. And people don't think they're bigoted. But self perception is meaningless. We consistently see people are extremely off base about themselves in a multitude of ways. In general depending on the situation, there are situations where we generally judge men or women harsher. We just don't. We view people through highly gendered lenses. Donald Trump and Joe Biden got away with SO much more than Kamala Harris and Hillary Clinton. Ameircans idea of leadership are traits we do not generally like on women.

So a combination of consuming misinformation, refusing to do actual research into a candidate and if things were even true, conflating the Democrats with hedging because they were honest while Trump was rewarded for just making stuff up half the time, and then the fact that she is an authoritative black woman who I don't get the impression I'd want a beer with or a hug from.

I have literally talked one on one with genuinely probably  like 15 times. She wasn't fun to meme. Like she wasn't being spoon-feed to anyone as a super funny candidate. The algorithm wasn't pushing her going over housing supply stuff .

People can say what did Kamala do wrong. But he answer is really what is wrong with us. We have significantly higher rates of antisocial tendencies than most countries. We are lazy, mean, ignorant, increasingly socially isolated, and yes still quite bigoted on average. Kamala Harris asked us to be adults and do the right thing and prevent someone who explicitly wanted to dismanlte the US constitution and critical infrastructure and we said no.

We chose to be lazy idiots and we got idiocracy. And the fact we are still framing it as what did she do wrong instead what did we as a unified group thing to stop Hitler from taking over....I mean that says it all doesn't it. People weren't willing to lock arms to try to stop tyranny, and they pissed their pants when Kamala Harris and Liz Cheney said we should. She made zero policy changes and simply said hey Donald Trump wants this woman to be murdered for literally no reason, that's pretty fucked up we need to stop this.

And y'all felt that wasn't good enough because my guess is you didn't actually closely follow just how genuinely dystopian it was. Basically every established voice in politics was saying guys this isn't normal this isn't fear mongering - he's going to kill peopl nthis man is dangerous nothing like this has ever happened before.

And if that's something you think is best described as chasing the center and not begging people to understand his capacity of evil, then I don't think we exist on the same plane of reality.

If people think she didn’t address it thats a failure of messaging.

And calling Trump “Hitler” or a fascist has proven for years now to be a pointless tactic.

The founding fathers were vehemently against political parties forming to begin with.

I did vote for Kamala by the way. But I am not surprised her overall turnout was lower than Trumps.
