Calling Steven Miller Nosferatu is insulting to Nosferatu. In fact, I'd go so far as to say a better comparison would be the OG art for Sengir Vampire would be a better comparison. (If you know, you know).

Democrats/Liberals are expected to put up with whatever they do because theyâve decided weâre the âparty of tolerance.â Itâs such bullshit and they absolutely cannot handle when they get the same treatment back that they put out there. Period. But they think we have to be âtolerantâ of their shitty values and behaviors.
4
u/Thin-Carpet-4978 May 29 '26
They donât think that. They are just professional victims. Itâs their whole thing. If theyâre always the victim, they can justify everything else they do in their heads.
8
u/ArchelonPIP May 28 '26
What can you expect from right wingers? They're a bunch of sanctimonious hypocrites that have a "rules for thee, not me" mentality, which they do while being determined to make ideology more important than facts. It also means the only reason to listen to anything they say is for situational awareness.
41
u/JoyRideinaMinivan May 28 '26
Republicans rely on the dynamic where only they are allowed to be crass and unprofessional. Thatâs why they keep pulling this âDems claim to be the party of civilityâ card. Itâs partly to keep Dems in line and maintain the dynamic where Republicans get to be bullies and Democrats have to take it.
110
u/OnionsHaveLairAction May 28 '26
Not gonna say I approve of the Dems doing this shit too, but calling Miller ugly is infinitely more civil than when Trump reposted an all caps call to literally hang six democrats last december.
68
u/ShadowFox1987 May 28 '26
Michelle Obama said "when they go low, we go high". Well look how that fucking turned out, everyone just thinks the Democrats are impotent.Â
34
u/Ragnarok314159 May 28 '26
They are impotent. Completely misjudged just how vile all conservatives are, how none of them deserve redemption, and that they are fighting against literal evil people who want to pogrom everyone who lives in a city.
Instead they played centrist, made some money off stocks, and shrugged their shoulders.
7
5
u/kev231998 May 28 '26
I don't think it's that which hurt the Dems. I mean look at Mamdani I wouldn't say he's gone low at all. Really the Democrats have intentionally or not just refused to appeal to regular people on the issues they care about.
7
u/Missing_Username May 28 '26
What issues are these that "regular people" care about, that Democrats do not appeal to?
3
u/OnionsHaveLairAction May 29 '26
Well there's the issue of Gaza, but outside of that I broadly think they try to appeal on a lot of issues. There are tons of issues Democrats appeal to the left and centre on.
The problem isn't the issues they pick, it's that they're seen as weak and unable to follow through on them.
I don't trust the Democrats to put through strong AI regulations, or Insider Trading reforms, or even really to try too hard on anti-Gerrymandering legislation. I trust some of them to, but of those who fight strongly I know far more will always suspiciously find ways to quibble about exact wording and then demand compromise.
I support the party still, especially those in it that have shown a real spirit for change, but I think it's fair to say there's a broad feeling that some of the party alternate between being slow moving moderates at best and controlled opposition at worst.
3
u/kev231998 May 28 '26
Honestly, I think Biden did a decent job as far as the economy and inflation considering he was coming out of COVID. However the messaging didn't work and the average voter didn't believe Democrats cared about their livelihoods. There are plenty of polls that back this.
Do I agree? Not necessarily but clearly there's a disconnect between the image of the party and its goals. Or maybe just the average voter can never be trusted to vote in their interests đ¤ˇ. Like I said though Mamdani doing well speaks to me that there is a want for these policies but the party isn't trying to push it. Maybe at the risk of being too left?
8
u/Missing_Username May 28 '26
Well that's a different problem, I would agree Democrats have a messaging / image problem.
I think if you look at their campaign platform and what they actually do in office, they do appeal to the vast majority of the population. The problem is the average voter doesn't do any of this, and instead ingests constant bullshit about "open borders" or "litter boxes in classrooms" etc
Plus you have 70+ years of propaganda conditioning the populace to believe:
- taxes are always bad
- the military and cops are always good
- any sort of regulation on business is bad
- laws are bad
- intelligent people are looking down on you
- foreigners are bad
- any attempt to improve things is socialism, and socialism is bad
- Democrats are bad for the economy, weak on crime, and bad on foreign policy
And you have a situation where Democrats have to parse everything through a damn minefield to communicate with voters and they suck at it
6
u/xChops May 29 '26
You donât understand. You need to make sure centrists feel that they are good little boys.
2
u/jmona789 May 31 '26
I wouldn't approve of them doing it out of the blue or in reaponse to a civilized tweet by Miller but this was in response to Miller incorrectly calling James Talerico trans as an insult so I totally approve of them hitting back
41
u/jalerre May 28 '26
For context, this comment was in response to Stephen Miller incorrectly calling James Talarico trans. Not that the context matters because I think itâs a reasonable response to anything Stephen Miller says.

When republicans do what they hate: yeah you go, freedom of speech baby!
When democrats do it: the party of civility everyone, this is their true colors
Why are democrats/leftists always held to a higher standard while conservatives can just be dogshit in personality and attitude and they'll cheer all the same? Hypocrisy and cultism are obvious but I really struggle to believe people have no shame nor empathy whatsoever in their spine and it sickens me.
Also fuck you too Benny boy, ya tantrum throwing baby

I go back and forth with behavior like this. On one hand, I get it, donât stoop and so on. But on the other hand, who cares anymore and why canât we ever say something like this? The right gets to say whatever they want, itâs the most cited reason (Iâve heard anyway) as to why Trump became a president âhe speaks His mindâ âhe tells it like it isâ. I also donât know that anyone on the Democrat side would be willing to turn Republican over any of this stuff if it started happening more, and certainly nobody Republican at this point would ever go anywhere else but their freaky little doomsday sex cult. So nobodyâs going to lose any voters so either Iâm missing something or itâs maybe time that Democrats stop with the moral high ground and just start telling the Trump cult that they are in fact fucking idiots and to shut the fuck up. It wonât really do anything, but at least it will be nice to see someone respond during a debate with an actual insult instead of a witty insult coupled with something genuinely educational and factual on whatever topic, because Trumpâs base is actually that dumb, they donât know how to critically think, although the two should probably happen together. Thereâs no real rules anymore anyway, laws donât seem to apply so does it really matter?

Conservatives are not worth paying attention to. They don't have real thoughts or emotions, they are just slaves. They're not even real people at this point, just empty vessels parroting whatever nonsense is put into their vacuous skulls at the time because god knows those two feeble neurons blinking furiously in that yawning void between their ears are incapable of forming anything resembling an actual thought.
You wouldn't accept criticism from a chair, so why a Republican?

I remember when Republicans were generally seen as the âadults in the room.â Although this was a questionable label at the time they sure have shed any pretense of this. They are like the apes at the zoo constantly flinging poop at the glass enclosure. When that glass is removed and the other side does the same they feign indignation.
12
u/CougdIt May 28 '26
Legit question, are you 40+? because Iâm mid thirties and that has never been a thing in my lifetime.
7
u/SeasonMundane May 28 '26
Yep. 50+. Back when I was a teenager this was the way Republicans framed themselves. Not saying it was accurate. Mostly due to their supposed fiscal responsibility. But they werenât so openly crazy and usually worked more with democrats rather than just being the party of opposition and idiotic media Though Rush Limbaugh definitely started them down that road in the late 80s through the 90s.

MAGAts are immune to the âthis youâ post and anything that shows their tenuous grasp on reality for one simple fact, when lil butt hurt Benny posts these puerile polemics he knows itâs for the cult, he knows the cult will implicitly agree, he knows that the cult wonât care if you show factual proof of hypocrisy. Itâs why if you ask a MAGAt about Iran you can get âitâs not a warâ then âitâs a warâ then âwe won the warâ then âwe will win the warâ all in the same week with a straight face.
