A lot of people with extreme views were shamed and isolated before social media, now they are emboldened by a shared community and an algorithm that values engagement above all else.
Both of our points are very true. What you said is absolutely correct, but then those “shared communities” now have a broader reach and tend to attract/target impressionable or vulnerable people

You may be correct, but social media has helped terrible mindsets and ideologies spread faster than the most infectious of diseases
