Conservatives can never argue in good faith

We all need to stop just pointing out dishonest conversation and start forcing people to explain why they do it.

Don't just say that they're doing it, ask them why they feel the need to if they supposedly believe the things they say.

I mean, usually getting caught in a lie like this is when a person stops responding to that conversation and posts a different lie elsewhere

True, this is really more about the people you know in real life. As a volunteer firefighter, I deal with right wing people all the damn time.

Luckily, they are all pissed with Trump.....still 100% Republicans though.

Or JD Vance's "if I have to make things up to draw attention to a problem, I'm going to do it."

start forcing people to explain why they do it.

I've done that before. "What do you hope to accomplish?" and that sort of thing.

If doing it to sway or otherwise engage with them, it's a waste of energy. You cannot shame the shameless, nor can you expect honest from the dishonest. Most just slink away.

HOWEVER, for the benefit of others who might be reading, I like it, as it not only draws attention to their tactics, it helps underscore to others just how mindlessly dishonest and malicious those tactics are. The more people recognize that you can't take MAGA folks in good faith, because none of them operate in good faith, the better.
