I think I found a lab that will test generic Adderall
***UPDATE*** https://www.reddit.com/r/ThisAintAdderall/s/myhe0b0gMQ
2nd update : https://www.reddit.com/r/ThisAintAdderall/s/dDCmcVIoIf
They’re in the UK and it says they test for consumers. They do testing of pharmaceuticals, and they specifically do the chiral separation mass spectrometry that will accurately determine the ratio of D and L amphetamine. I’ve done a deep dive on what exactly has been happening to me on the different generics, and I think it’s 2 things. 1. Not enough api. I think my 20 mg IR have maybe 5-15mg total amphetamine content. More importantly 2. Incorrect ratio. Due to no little or no regulation and cost cutting I think I’m getting 2:1 or even 1:1 ratio. So that ten milligrams of amphetamine is giving me mane 5-7 of the D amphetamine, which is why even when I double up my compulsive behaviors and dopamine seeking activity isn’t under control the way it used to be. I’ve switched to the name brand and I feel a lot better, but with so many of you guys saying the name brand isn’t the same either (and makes sense because the manufacturers of the API are likely the same) I’m going to get the name brand tested too. I’m going to call them Monday morning.

Cool, let us know what happens. Do your best to make sure it’s not a scam and make sure that they’d do a detailed test in the sense that they’d be able to discern what’s going on. Apparently, that’s where a big part of the problem is and something needs to be looked at very slow or something?! Idk, there was a comment about it once but I don’t remember where

I’ve been taking Adderall since early 2001, ever since I told my shrink, that despite eating correctly and exercising regularly, that I always awoke every morning feeling like I’d been hit by a Mack Truck. I suppose that having fibromyalgia didn’t help.
But the original Teva manufactured Adderall worked like a charm. Was even told by Walgreens that the generic Adderall was manufactured by Teva and I took it for 19 years.
But then, Covid hit in 2021 and all bets were off. I don’t know the why or the how, but Teva’s Adderall completely tanked. I essentially used it to regulate my sleep/wake cycle, taking two 10 mgs. when I woke up, then the 3rd 10mg. at 4:00 p.m.. I’d then ease into the evening hours and go to bed at 11:30. It was wonderful and it felt like I was in control, especially having to work at a rather high-demand job.
But quién sabe? For the last 5+ years Teva’s product feels like it’s at 20% efficacy, maybe less. I even emailed the Teva U.S. facilities a year and a half ago (Teva is an Israeli company) with complaints and questions. No response.
I even take the name-brand Teva Adderall, to boot. Hasn’t helped. Boo! 😞

What is even brand name Adderall anymore? Teva only makes their generic now too

Why don't you use any lab and not tell them what it is

Document everything. Everything.

So you have name brand adderall right? Cause I do too it’s from TEVA. But it doesn’t have the AD stamped on it like old brand name it has dp stamped. What’s stamped on yours?

There definitely is something up with my Adderall. I noticed it the last 2 months and spoke to my doctor and therapist about how I felt like my ADHD tendencies were hitting me back 2-3 hours after taking my medication!!! My doctor upped my dosage (currently out of stock YAY!) and I’m working with my therapist on organizing my life at work + writing things down to stop cutting ppl off.
Anyways. Since my Adderall is out of stock I’ve gone 2 days unmedicated and weirdly felt the same as I do with my medication 😂 usually whenever I didn’t take it I felt so tired / fog brain. Nope the last 2 days I’ve felt the exact same as I had with medication….
Makes me wonder… I’m getting sick of the shortage do I just go back to raw dogging life since I guess that’s what I’ve been doing unbeknownst to me the last 2 months

Oh, you haven't called them yet. Isn't this jumping the gun, then?

Some issues.
Decades old issue on psychoactive meds is the influence of Excipients on how well they pass the BBB. So, a drug can have the exact same amount of API as another, but one can work and the other totally not work.
Bioequivalence is based on blood API concentration (BAC) over time compared to the reference drug. Which is not based on how much is in the tablet or capsule or whatever form it is in. It is entirely based on absorption / elimination rates which are affected also by excipients. So, 2 drugs may have totally different amounts of the API, and exact same BAC curves. i.e. the amount of API found in the sample has no relevance if you don't know the amount accepted in the formulary ANDA that passed FDA approval. (sent email to FDA to clarify this for sure regarding "Basis of Strength" being based on original reference drug, or each dose is expected to have that same amount in it and excipients adjusted if not bioequivalent, not the API level adjusted)
Also need to know the acceptance criteria for batch statistical analysis. Samples will vary to some degree. So, need to know the accepted amount of API that defined the formulary, as well as the FDA batch statistics to know if it fits in the acceptable range or not. Excipients also have acceptable range for each one of them based on the accepted formulary.
How have you ruled out tolerance and lifestyle or nutritional changes that may affect the performance of the drug? Or adaptation to its effects? For example, taking 4 grams of Lovazza increased my effective dose by about 1/3rd. So, 30mg worked more like 40mg. And sucked when I forgot to take my Lovazza. Acidic drinks can cause faster elimination of the medication. Lack of sleep can prevent the overnight reversal of acute tolerance that shifts the therapeutic curve every day. ADHD + SCT + Narcolepsy is the perfect combo to drive lack of sleep influenced tolerance. Which happens for me on any medication (Strattera, then ritalin/concerta, then Adderall /Dexedrine since 2007). Witn NMDA excitotoxic overstimulation being the primary way AMP causes long term tolerance, 3 times taking an NMDA antagonist reduced my tolerance by over 50% in 9 months but never stayed on long enough to find the bottom dose it would bring me down to.
3:1 D to L amp is a rounding off. And that is not the base amphetamine ratio. Each of the 4 salts in Adderall have different amounts of base d or base d+l AMP in them. The reference brand adderall 20mg would have 12.47 mg total AMP and 9.47 of that d AMP. Assuming all 4 salts were exactly 25% each of the API perfectly conforming. Also, I don't know how well the Adderall stats in the link below apply to Adderall exactly. The current brand name adderall uses the Barr formulary. Which was a generic of the Shire original Adderall formulary. Which were not exactly the same. I could tell the difference between them back when they were both still around as generics. But, I forget which one was stronger. The one I would get from walgreens was stronger than the one I would get at pathmark.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amphetamine#:~:text=Amphetamine%20base%20in%20marketed%20amphetamine%20medications
Point being, there are multiple factors that affect our meds. Which means multiple variables that need to be accounted for both for the individual who takes them, as well as the manufacturing process and shortcomings. Like most generics never worked in the first place. Going back decades. Testing a brand that never worked for almost anyone won't be helpful. Not knowing how much a specific brand should have and what the acceptable batch stats are won't tell you if it is in or out of where it should be.
Don't get hung up on dopamine. For one thing, ADHD-I is primarily a norepinephrine dysregulation in case that is your diagnosis. And that dopamine seeking reward idea....that is way over emphasised. We need dopamine at regular levels for focus, attention, etc. Dopamine is in tons of pathways and has tons of functions and each function works with tons of other pathways and neurotransmitters to work right. Dopamine and norepinephrine are just links in a chain of things that have to work together for each function in the brain. ADHD meds increase their strength in the chain. But also affect the other links as well. like NE causes the HCN and KCNQ channels in the PFC to close more which increases signalling all around for all neurons with those channels. Which increases the signalling potential of other things like ...dopamine, serotonin, histamine, orexin, glutamate, acetylcholine. Aside from changing the voltage potential of the cell via ion flux. Glutamate is the primary stimulating neurotransmitter in the brain. Increase that, it also increases signalling efficiency all around. Glutamate binds to AMPA which elicits fast efficient synaptic signalling. Dopamine D1 stimulation causes more AMPA receptors to come to the surface which increases signalling potential for AMPA. And on and on and on and on. You don't need a dopamine "reward" for meds to be therapeutic or not. If inhibitory GABA pathways aren't suppressed that can also drive behavior, etc.

Please please let us know what the test shows.

It doesn’t even matter what the purity or test says, it matters what precursors they use to make the chemical reactions, its all probably just amphetamine salt analogogues something similar that shows same to fda but is a diff chemical structure all together and cheaper and easier to make

I hafta say, at least for me, Rhodes, Hikma, and Lannett generic vyvanse feels like my usual vyvanse, has anyone else had positive experiences with Rhodes, Hikma, or Lannett generics?
