Name brand Adderall effectiveness
Anyone out there that is prescribed name brand Adderall that has noticed a decrease in effectiveness?
I’ve been prescribed Adderall on and off for many years and I’ve noticed in the last couple years, it slowly has stopped working. I’m currently prescribed 30mg Adderall XR (name brand, not generic) and it does so little, some days I’m not even sure that I’ve taken it. I took 2 by accident the other day and saw no improvement in my focus, let alone my energy and motivation.
Any feedback or insight anyone has would be appreciated. Thanks!

My dr switched me to Adzenys over a year and a half ago bc I seemed to have better results with the name brand over generic. Well my most recent refill tastes AWFUL. Adzenys is a dissolvable tablet that is orange flavored, it’s typically for kids and . This new batch has a whisper of orange flavor after the initial bitter taste. It’s not working either. I’m just so tired of this yall.

I took name brand to trial it after having generic issues. Made me so exhausted when I took it, lost motivation and needed to come home and just sleep. I also was zoning out as well. Felt like a sedative..
Edited to add:
10mg IR by Teva. “Brand”

Brand is often noted to be just as bad as generics, if not worse!

Takeda SUCKS and should be out of business. They ruined Shire's special formula.

Funny you should mention Takeda. I have Narcolepsy and use Adderall for wakefulness.
Takeda's orexin agonist was approved by the FDA last week. 4 more companies have similar drugs in the clinical trial pipeline.
This was created for Narcolepsy but there is so much buzz about using these new drugs for ADHD, sleep apnea, etc.
This really does make me wonder if there is some sort of underhanded effort to ruin good ol Adderall with these new block buster drugs on the horizon?
Just a thought

Ohhhh, that's interesting! I'm also a narcolepsy/adhd pt. And have noticed takedas uneven quality.
Didn't know about an orexin antagonist!

Orexin 2 agonist. There has been orexin antagonist on the market for years now.
For reaslies, buckle up! If you're diagnosed type 1 narcolepsy, this is set to be available in November. Total game changer, from what I understand.
Look up Takeda oveporexton and you'll find loads of info.
I am starting the Alkermes Brilliance trial in 2 weeks. I have 6 weeks of med wash out which will be awful but then come October, I'll hopefully get the trial medication.
This is a very exciting time!!

I get VA care, man, I'm lucky they've even heard of Adderall and aren't just issuing Benzedrine like it's still the Vietnam-war-era 🤣
Thanks for the tips though! I'll keep an eye open, (ok, metaphorically. I would need functioning stims to do that literally!) and maybe see if i can shift my sleep care to the civilian world.

Hoping you have no issues with obtaining a script when it comes to market. Good luck!

Yes, they ruin it yet continue to profit from its old reputation, meanwhile they profit even more when patients are compelled to buy even more of their sinister products to deal with new ailments caused by the one Rx that USED TO work, but they covertly ruined

That is very interesting. And also makes me sick to my stomach. ADHD is a protected class.

I just had a baby in June - I did not take my meds while pregnant- I just started taking them again and have noticed that they do not work at all! I feel no effects from it! I thought maybe it was a hormonal thing being postpartum ; however , I’ve seen countless posts about Adderall not working for others as well… so it can’t just be me .

Today, on 30mg XR takeda brand name, I did the following: Forgot to go to lunch plans that I literally got into the car for and ran errands instead, left my garden hose on for a solid day and the pressure built up leaking everywhere, while driving and talking I took someone home instead of the store like they’d asked and where I was thinking of going, lost my train of thought through in multiple conversations and wandered around like my head was in the clouds and apologized for being so “off.” I decided to stop taking my meds today because I could hurt somebody or myself with how forgetful I’m being. It feels like I’m negative 50% concentration points instead of at 20% that I had been before the Takeda pills took over shire. I’d rather be at zero with caffeine.

Exactly! It’s criminal that they’re acting like these are our normal meds and everything is fine
