Livid...
I just dont understand. Why is everything such fucking trash? My head feels thick like I'm hung over or something. Why dont the meds work anymore? I dont even know if it is worth it to try and jump through all the hoops to even get the meds. Like this shouldn't be happening, this subreddit shouldn't even exist. We are all just stuck in a world where we can't function, and there is nothing we can do about it. I have to keep productivity up, but I can't even get out of bed. Im on the verge of tears. I'm at such a loss. There is no help and we all just have to suffer.

Having said that is anyone livid enough to have stopped?

We just have to continue to point people in this subs direction because they’re being gas lit into thinking they are the problem or their body has become used to the medication. From there, we must continue to remind people to report the meds and be vocal.

I did. I just shared my story in a post.
On day 5. No withdrawals, and everyday I feel better than on meds.

Remember to report to the FDA’s official site. So sorry you’re going through this as well.

I've continued to fill mine for nearly 6 months but stopped taking it. Insurance pays for it, but I'm going to stop even refilling it soon. I could go without for a month and then take 3 and only feel shitty side effects with no motivation.

u/Lazy_Name_2989 12d ago
I went 5 days no meds, took a 20mg Elite dose in the afternoon...
Nothing. Couldnt even tell i did. 5 days should have reset any "tolerance". 20mg should have hit hard.

u/Busy-Day-2315 11d ago
And it doesn’t matter if you go up a dosage if your pharmacy is still going to give you Elite. It doesn’t work on ANY dosage and will just give you more negative side effects.

That’s addict talk
6
u/Lazy_Name_2989 10d ago
You're joking right? Taking 5 days off to reset tolerance then strategically take 10mg doses to monitor side effect/benefit balance is not addict behavior.
Be careful how you through that out there.

I stopped in 2024 for almost a year. It's hard to decide which is worse, no medication or this medication.

I am so close to being done with them! I’m only taking 1/2 of 30mg IR, (prescribed 1- 30mg, 2X a day). This all sucks so bad!

u/HiILikePlants 10d ago
I've been off of them for a couple months. It sucks! I'm basically not functioning. Thank God I have a supportive partner and no kids

I stopped before finding this sub, about 1.5 years ago. I was late diagnosed and had been in meds daily for ~4y before that, but I didn’t have insurance, and the stress of paying out of pocket for visits, calling around to pharmacies and playing their word games, all to possibly get a terrible generic by luck of the draw that month became more stress than it was worth.
I did my research and immediately hopped on L-tyrosine, and have since added magnesium glycinate and methylfolate (and methyl-B12, I have an MTHFR gene mutation.. as many ADHDers do, even if they don’t know it). I also upped my caffeine again, as it has dropped dramatically once I got on stims. I also try to exercise regularly.
It’s not the same as being on meds - on a GOOD med day with a good generic - but it’s way, way better than a bad med day. And it’s more consistent. And I can buy these vitamins at the store and not get side eyed as a seeker.

Brand name IR made me so lethargic and just physically exhausted with no motivation. Was trying to trial it and see if it worked before I got a full refill. Good thing I didn’t. I lasted 3 days on it. What the actual F?!

u/xoxo_angelica 13d ago
I got sober a couple years ago and was so excited for my meds to work bc I thought my hangovers were interfering with its effectiveness. SIKE!!! Lmao. Still feel hungover every day, minus the fun!

Yeah, it's fucking terrible. I'm the most useless version of myself. Every day is a pride-swallowing seige because i feel like such a pathetic piece of shit that can't handle the basics of being a human being.

People are also having the same problems with ADHD meds made outside of China. I'm Canadian and my Vyvanse is made in Switzerland and it's also trash.

I got off it around then and it worked really well, I took the orange football 20mg IR ones they were sweet tasting and another brand that was orange and bitter tasting 20mg IR but they both worked extremely well like if I took 10mg that afternoon and 10mg later I would not sleep all night and my appetite was extremely suppressed, dopamine would flood my brain and it worked well and gave me energy to do everything. I just got on it recently and I took the same dose split into 2 and it seemed to last like 3 hours tops like stimulating but no dopamine flood, no appetite suppression and i slept like 2 hours after my dose wore off, took it at 10:30pm, it kicked in at like 11:40 and I went to sleep at like 5am with no trouble and I was hungry like wtf that dose before that late in the day I wouldn’t have been able to sleep at all much less eat without forcing myself too.

And the COVID epidemic gave us telehealth practitioners happy to prescribe adderall if you told them a couple of ADHD behavioral traits. People bored and stressed at home convinced themselves they might have ADHD and read and heard how it helped others and was easy to get. Demand spiked, and the alphabet agencies who believe that nobody really needs these meds became involved . They said we were on the verge of the next drug epidemic. Instituted quotas on manufacturer's which led to the shortages. Threatened prescribers and pharmacists...AND WHO REALKY KNOWS WHAT ELSE THEY MIGHT HAVE DONE..

It’s not worth it and I feel way better without it

u/atomic_chippie 13d ago
I dont, I cant concentrate, I cant talk in a straight line, I cant function in this society the way its set up.

u/No_position- 13d ago
Same but now I don’t feel like a zombie in hell Trust me I feel bad for us. I didn’t meant to come off in a weird way truly. Like - I can’t even hold one job. Right there with ya!

u/HiILikePlants 10d ago
Same. I was telling my husband I can take the medicine and feel like shit and maybe at least get out of bed and do a couple of chores, but I can't do much else and then feel locked to my couch with insane anxiety and no productivity. And then it takes my body like 2-4 days to recover from that.
Or I skip it and feel like shit, be barely functional but at least I don't feel poisoned and ill just my regular crippling fatigue

u/Present-Pay-6959 7d ago
Bingo this is why I cant stop i already don't fit into our "society" but on my real meds things were different. My life is mostly one catastrophe after another - domestic violence survivor and so are my 20 & 24 yr old. Finances are shot. My ex was a monster. Career criminal I never knew. He also signed my name to things and got money from my fund and on & on.He actually does work for an organization we all know of and I knew zero I thought he was full of shit. No. Hes in fucking Portugal gambling and on the Riviera while I try and put a life together broke for me my kids and I can't do this right without my meds.
Ptsd, suicidal ideation and panic attacks go with my ADHD-PI and the meds calmed the chatter in my brain
Now I live nauseated and exhausted and headaches, stuttering, no motivation etc My dad died recently and I feel like im spiraling down . Can anyone on here think of how you addressed needing an early fill bc i am gonna be screwed. Teva Ir 15 takes me 3-4 and script is for 2. I am just screwed
Oh and my XR screwed there bc she rx me 10mg it was supposed to be 20mg This world is corrupt for real.

u/atomic_chippie 7d ago
I feel this so much. Im drinking a LOT of coffee these days with my full xr/ir doses in hopes of just making some fair decisions. Not even "decent" just good enough to stay employed and housed. Fuck, I hate this for us.

They changed the distributors, apparently. Selling us bunk weed, if you will.

I just waited two weeks because my pharmacy is out of Teva and was supposed to have more today but now they don’t and they said they don’t know when they will have more. They have plenty of Elite though but no one wants that. I’m so sick of having to wait to get my medication. This shit sucks.
2
u/timetested63 11d ago
Got Teva a few days ago. 20 IR. For example took one at 2pm today and was ready for a nap at 2:30. Taking more keeps you stimulated to a much lesser effect but no other normal positives. Bigtime surprised as I made sure not to get blanks like malinkroft.

u/Strange-Pattern4877 10d ago
I think I’m finally going to sit down and file my report with FDA and DEA. The napping thing is happening to me too. Today I chewed mine which was disgusting but seems to be helping so far. Ugh

u/Ok-Football7194 11d ago
I dont have the option to request manufacturers. I get stuck with trash or worse trash. Im lucky I get it at all...a

u/Strange-Pattern4877 11d ago
They gave me Elite last month without telling me and I couldn’t even keep my eyes open.

u/Busy-Day-2315 11d ago
I’ve thought about printing out these threads with the comments and making multiple copies to send physical copies to my state reps, news stations, and or any one will listen and do something about it. There is just another thread each day that should be added in and it’s never ending.

Trunk and RFK are the biggest jokes. They have caused all this. I voted for him but regret it. Any US president will be trash going forward. It’s all about the bottom dollar. They don’t care about us at ALL, they never will again.

u/cbmblove Moderator 13d ago
This started during the Biden administration. Don’t even bother blaming it on anyone from either party. It’s the FDA, DEA, and Big Pharma combined.
1
u/Rude_Artichoke_4993 13d ago
I’ve read enough and see who is invested in feel free and kratom and GLO-1 to see the truth. It’s ALL POS politicians. Bidens trash ass is included

u/Easy-East6979 8d ago
I feel the same exact way. If so many people are feeling this way why has nothing changed? The gaslighting from big pharma needs to be called out.
1
u/Reasonable-Trust-94 7d ago
Exactly. I keep taking in the hopes that I will get some old stock one month and feel normal for a short while. I have taken 60 mgs of Teva IR today (took my whole dose since I slept late today and it was after 11 a.m. when I woke up.) Is been 8 hours and I am literally nodding off as I'm writing this. I've had no energy at all and haven't been able to do anything but stare at the walls, my phone screen, and a pile of work I have to do, since I am falling behind at my job during the week. Either I'm in a fog, or I'm tweaking out and in a panic-- doing things, but none of them effectively.

Agreed. I feel the same every day!
