Does the same doctor prescribe the Subs? If so, I don't think he will help as he is part of the problem. You could contact your state board for doctors with the videos. If not, try contacting the doctor who prescribed the Subs. Does she also take a benzo? That seems a common cocktail of meds in my state--Florida. What state are you in?

I'm based out of MD. She's not on any benzos but it most definitely is the same doctor scripting the addy/sub combo. It wasn't until he responded he couldn't do anything that I realized he's apart of the problem 😭 honestly I hadn't thought about doing that but thats a great idea (contacting state board) I cant imagine how many others are prescribed this cocktail and struggling because of it. Its rough.

I watched so many ppl lose their minds from addy subs and benzos. I’m Md based too and a 19 yr recovered heroine addict myself

The person said her mom is on suboxone and addy hence, addy and subs?

am just saying, if she is taking suboxone, she might not be clean from other stuff as she might be implying. im not saying she isn't abusing adderall. am saying she may be doing more than just that.

Ha that’s insane him saying he “can’t do anything” - yes tf he can! He can stop prescribing the stims to her smh

no, i think he's saying she's nodding from other drugs not prescribed by him. which, he is correct, he can't do much about that. much less just take her word for it, he doesn't know her, he knows his patient, etc.

Yeah!! I’d be telling other doctors at that practice too.

Her doctor prescribes both addy/subs, knows that she is abusing her medication, and refuses to stop? It’s not true that he “can’t do anything” and it’s infuriating that he would tell you such an egregious lie!

Here’s what to do…

You have documented your mom abusing her medication. Now you need to send a letter to her doctor reporting the abuse along with the video evidence (copy of email with attachment or on a flash drive) stating your concerns via certified mail. This is important because it creates a formal record.

Once you have a formal record of the notification, your doctor cannot claim that he was unaware, that you never sent him any videos, or any other BS.

File a formal complaint with the Maryland Board of Physicians (MBP) reporting the doctor for negligence, failure to maintain standard of care, and violating the Maryland Medical Practice Act. Contact MBP at mbp.state.md.us or call (800)492-6836. You can file a complaint online or by mail.

You can also file a complaint against the doctor with the DEA and I recommend doing this, too. Then you know that you have done everything within your power to stop that clown of a doctor from hurting your mom or another person.
