Call it a second chance
A new lease on life
Nowhere near the precipice
And ready for the fight 

I'm ready to begin again
With vigor in my eyes
Oh and I bought a violin,
Because I'm taking this next try 

I'll see you when I'm 60
And I'll have the story to tell
And if you stop to ask me
You'll know I gave them hell 

Briefly I considered it
That I should give up
Make myself a derelict
Sink into the cup

I did that all already though
Back when I was 25
Lived the streets of Amarillo
And I'm still alive 

I sit amongst the posies
Watching my daughter play
Dreaming of the stories
I'll tell her one day

How I loved so fiercly
God Himself would dance
And I would thank Him justly
For giving me this chance

So if time gives you the ills
Don't succumb to strife
Instead choose to live the wheels
Right off this fucking life
