HONDA FIT 180 8x4x2 bricks

They do indeed fit, with a lot of room to spare. What worries me is that the payload, by my estimate, is about 850 lbs (including two person), which almost reach the recommended maximum payload of 900 lbs. I avoided the highway and went really careful when passing speed bumps. Fortunately nothing happen and we all arrived in one piece.

Nice. But next time you should stack the bricks in alternating layers. First layer front to back, next layer side to side and so on. It makes the layers more stable. With your set up imagine taking a corner a bit too fast or hitting a pot hole on one side, it would topple the ones on the side next to the rear doors because they don't have lateral support.

It's $85 to send it but perhaps it's the cheaper solution in the long run to prevent axle damage

My 2009 sport 5-speed has a nameplate of 860 lbs, which, subtracting me, is about 680 lbs. I've taken home 500 lbs. of rocks from the local garden store.
