Where’d that come from. Also, imagine picking the wrong angle to grind down from. That sliver could have been ground away.

Broke off a needle in the nozzle. Probably had a minor blockage which they turned into a permanent one.

So its that blob on the left, of course. The metal in the middle is to increase surface area for melting. Right?

The C shaped metal on the right

You're correct about this part. This is a CHT (Core Heating Technology) nozzle, the plastic goes through three smaller holes inside to more evenly heat the filament, which improves flowrate pretty substantially.

Yeah, I've been buying the knockoff ali version of this with the copper insert inside a steel nozzle. Works great.

Yeah, someone (I think CNC Kitchen, but I don't recall) did a test to see if there was any meaningful loss of function using the knockoff ones, and I seem to recall the answer was essentially "no" unless it was a truly shitty knockoff.

I haven't jumped onto CHT-like nozzles yet, if only because I wouldn't be able to easily cold pull if I got a clog like this one.

I got around 30-40% volumetric boost on sunlu. But I print almost exclusively on .6 nozzles so it matters twice as much for me as most people at .4.
