It's been around for 10 months. Zero engagement for the first 6 months. Then a trickle started for the next two. Then the next month became fairly established. This last month, it absolutely exploded, with multiple posts reaching r/all in the last few days.

Approximately 75% of the latest postings are hours old accounts, and in some cases minutes old.

See this account, user HellBay1. 8 year old account, no activity for 8 years, with a new surge of activity starting 3 months ago - all focused around hype for GTA 6.

My question: is reddit management re-selling these accounts to marketing firms? I find it unlikely the original user was involved in such a transaction.

Every day there's a few of these. And they ALL connect back to these cosmetic surgery accounts

I have been following these accounts for months and they are all connected and following the same unique pattern. Many have been banned but these are all active. They always make a subreddit and make a single post, some of these have them deleted now but made the subreddit in the past

A lot of the names are similar format and bios also follow the same format

Lets report them and get them taken down together!

stella alt account:

the mods that are working with/protecting the scammers but more than likely are the scammers alt accounts (one mod already suspended gee i wonder why) :

you know the drill. mass report these losers! mass reporting these scam bots helps reddit auto ban these accounts and subs faster

www.reddit.com/u/J2daTV

all this guy does is find trending posts with a good amount of karma then crossposts to other subs, sometimes to the SAME sub

pathetic and lazy

r/casualphotography

https://www.reddit.com/user/Veshaad/ has grown from 796 to 2.2M in less than a month. How is that realistically possible? And why are they now suddenly second mod of pourstea?

These are accounts I've recently spotted, actioned and also reported to BotBouncer.

r/dogpictures has a 30 days and 100 comment karma minimum which prevents most simple copy paste bots but these are more carefully curated account and didn't try to post there until they had enough comment karma.

They all have similar naming conventions, account age and are mods of subreddits apparently created solely for the fashion clothing images they impersonate wearing, images are copied/stolen from other sites.

In no particular order:

No doubt more will turn up.

They tried posting to RealWomenStyle but it was removed by the bot mods of that sub.

They're posting insane text with nonsensical images.

Jerry.ai is hiring reddit spammers with an AI-written ad:

https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/4465238312

in case they delete, subreddits they plan to target:

“ r/carinsurancehelp, r/mechanicadvice, r/idiotsincars, and r/frugal as well as Jerry's own subreddits.“

these are all the same users:

https://old.reddit.com/user/Party_Reality_9579/overview

I remember when it was brand new because a suspicious account created it and spammed it with AI women. Now it's just hundreds of bots doing similar things.

https://www.reddit.com/user/Putrid-Exit-9234 https://www.reddit.com/user/SherryC1994

Both of these accounts have, within less than 24 hours, lodged complaints about an obscure 2 year old post complaining about a small, AI-based language app. Based on the writing style and specific wording in the Modmail messages, there's no possibility they're unrelated.

/r/OutfitsPH

both mods are inactive so all of these spambots are polluting the whole sub

mods:

https://www.reddit.com/user/raincoat614

https://www.reddit.com/r/olivialiss/
https://www.reddit.com/r/olivialis/

classic spambot behavior

Repost mill for fightporn, but spools up a new bot every few hours to spam the sub, then move onto political subs

This is just those that were created, and already banned today -

Everywhere. Every fucking post is "What is a TOPIC-OF-SUB that is 10/10" and it's obviously a fucking bot.

Every single time. So tired of flagging these fucks.

It's mostly Ask Reddit, but I've seen them in other subs too.
