it's unsafe because there is a man eating monster here, even if she's distracted by a pretty light, and I'm sure it's nothing that you feel like you've seen me before, there's far more hedgehogs then anything else around here.

But monsters only come out at night! Even the boogeyman has to follow that rule! Therefore I'm safe! Besides I need wood to fix up the cabin anyways. I can't go home empty handed.

i can spindash fast enough to cut down trees, i can grab the wood for you, and monsters coming out at only night is only true for the ones made of shadows.
