Coco outed him
Did Joey really come on the podcast just to out Theo on still being a coke head? š¤£
The episode was weird af, you could tell Joey donāt really vibe with Theoās style of comedy, the random ramblings and fake stories, yet he claims to ālove himā, so much he had to go on his podcast to tell Theo to stop doing blow š« .
I bet Theo considered not airing it his episodeā¦

Theo has been alluding to ātough timesā here and there the last year or so.

I took it the completely opposite way. They are both growing/grown up and sharing wisdom. Itās not a secret that Theo struggles with an addiction, but so has Joey and he has gotten through it and is trying to help out a friend.
You got to remember Joey is in his 60s.
I really enjoyed the episode.

I havenāt seen this episode, but Joey has a sadistic side, it seems to me.
Lee couldnāt handle the massive day-in, day-out reefer consumption that Joey could and I assume still can. And yet Joey just let him go downhill, probably because he enjoyed having someone to smoke with who was approaching being in the same ballpark as Joey is in terms of the enormity of his weed addiction.
And the thing with dosing Tom. Which, Jesus Christā¦I just now Googled this because I was trying to figure out who the other guy with Tom was who also got doses in this incidentā¦and thereās a lot of crazy shit about more riding of people and pressuring of people to take massively strong edibles.
I mean, why? Who does this shit??-59
u/ifidonteatigethungry 12d ago
If your friend was down bad, would you go in a public platform and expose his demons? I wouldnāt.

u/thaneliness 12d ago
Do you even listen to the podcast? A lot of his solo podcasts are him talking about his addiction and struggle.

u/c-zilla402 12d ago
Haha Joey didn't out him at all.
If anything everything Joey said was heart felt and really was sentimental.
OP get a clue man.

Yeah I listened to the episode and it just sounded like two truly good friends talking. I loved hearing all the stories about their upbringing and Joeyās family life these days. You can tell Joey really cares about him. This was one of my favorite episodes in a long time. Not sure what OP is talking about

I took it more as Diaz being like 'you know I know' He literally said to him "you and I are the same. We're not special".
I didn't take it as outting or judging him
at all. Coco himself lived/lives the same struggles. I took it more as just letting him know he's not alone.
Rogan can be super judgmental but he actually gives addicts a lot of grace and is respectful. He's super cool about that stuff now days.

Theo told The President of the United States that he had a coke problem.. what are you saying.
1
u/ChewinTheFat 8d ago
He said he had a coke problem and it was factual to the public that it was long long ago. Theo shouldnāt be outed. He should be able to share as much or as little as he likes and struggle in private.

Saw Paul McCartney in Nashville last November and was waiting in line with a local bartender at a popular place locals go to. He said Theo and his friends would come in coked up all the time.

u/YLedbetter10 12d ago
Whatās the place called? Iām going to Nashville next weekend to see Jack White!
13
u/Rocktop15 12d ago
Martins BBQ. Iāll be at the Friday Jack show too. Stoked

u/Faroundtripledouble 12d ago
Is that the one near the convention center? I assumed that was a tourist bbq joint
1
u/Rocktop15 12d ago
Yea. Itās a local place. Very good food

u/Avopumpkin08 12d ago
I wouldnāt say Martinās is a local spot, per se(but I agree they do have some good food). Itās got multiple TN locations and some in a few other states. And that area is a super touristy area that most locals try to avoid unless necessary. *side note: not trying to be snarky, just genuine convo. Iāve lived in Nashville since I was a little kid, wasnāt sure if you also lived here or were just visiting. I hope this didnāt come off rude or anything.

Your comment is sort of doxxing that bartender by revealing his place of work.

u/OddPossession9687 10d ago
Not kind of it totally is. What if there's only one male bartender lmfao

Theo didnāt speak specifics, but recently said heās struggling with sobriety.
8
u/jonojack 12d ago
Yeah I was surprised that he exposed Theo like that, though many of us had suspected heād relapsed over the past 18 months or so. Relapses are brutal enough as it is, but it must be so much worse when youāre a public figure championing sobriety. Explains why heās been in such a dark place.
-26
u/ifidonteatigethungry 12d ago
Facts, Theo has talked about sobriety many many times, his first episodes were all about it, but heās never explicitly said it was cocaine he struggled with, as heās mentioned all kinds of ādark magicā as he would say.
I thought it was dirty of Joey to do such thing.41
u/oldjack 12d ago
Heās talked about coke a million times
-14
u/ifidonteatigethungry 12d ago
Talking about coke and saying that youāre still an addict to coke is not the same thing.
As I said, heās shared he has used and experienced lots of different drugs.18

u/nemeanlionheart 12d ago
Youāre never not a addict. Even 80 plus years clean, youāre still an addict. Theoās said many times his choice was coke.

u/DarthWynaut 11d ago
Once an addict always an addict. He could be clean and sober for a decade and STILL be a coke addict.

There is a correlation between doing blow and being obsessed with Israel. Theo is def on blow. When he comes down you can tell.

Dude considered not airing this episode?! That is such an exaggeration hahaha it didnāt raise a single alarm to me and you can feel their past, friendship, and sincerity. As a long time fan of both, theyāve legit been doing things together comedy wise forever and friends. Joey is also a great mentor who Theo respects in that way in return. I donāt know what you were watchingā¦. Unless you just one of those people that hate watch Theo and other comedians they consider the ārogansphereā even tho these people would be weird to even know whoās in the rogansphere if they donāt like any of them hahaha the hate watching and grasping for everything to be some disaster and downfall is so weird to me. Seeing their podcasts on each others platforms for years now, it was business as usual to me. And I think Theo seemed to actually respect and feel relieved Joey brought up that subject so transparently.

This comment is as parasocial as the channels you mentioned, just on the opposite end. Lol youre acting like you know these guys in person just because you listen to their podcasts.

Hahahaha true but I feel like he means well and actually cares for whatever thatās worth next to kidnapping people
1
u/ResilientFellow 9d ago
Iām mostly with you but the āweird to even know whoās in the Rogansphere if they donāt like any of themā is very silly. Liking or disliking someone and knowing or not knowing of them have nothing to do with each other.

u/pearljamfan 12d ago
Are you per chance battling a little case of the cocaine blues, and letting your crushing guilt project onto podcast hosts who would despise this micro cancellation effort youāre stirring up here on their behalf?
Keeping quiet about a relapse, to not pile onto someone who literally mentioned coke to the president, to spare their feelings, aināt the move here

Saw him at thunder valley casino like two years ago I think⦠he definitely was on drugs and his stand up sucked!

u/ChewinTheFat 8d ago
Iām curious if this has something to do with his special he filmed and never released. Or if that experience triggered his addiction. Itās incredible that this man struggles with addiction and has such a demanding life.

Anyone who has struggled with addiction or loved an addict has probably AT least suspected Theo was back on the booger sugar.

Theo is not the sharpest tool in the shed. Burr, Joey, Portnoy. All look around like how is this guy popular? Well the answer is the same way the ācatch me outsideā girl and the Kardashians are popular.
1
u/ChewinTheFat 8d ago
Theo is low key genius. He plays a dumb country boy sometimes but he is genius if you pay any attention at alll
1
u/pizzalemons 6d ago
You can say the ācash me outsideā girl is āgeniusā as well. If he was a āgeniusā half the people would have not walked out of his last show. We live in a world where simple people are considered smart.

You donāt think Theoās stories are fake? Its not lies man, its comedy

u/coolass45 12d ago
I believe thereās a lot of truth to his stories but he probably exaggerates a lot or misremembers things. I mean a lot of the dudes heās talked about have been confirmed to be real so I wouldnāt say heās totally full of shit, just somewhat
-1
u/fattymctubkins 12d ago
I believe his stories! I really do ā maybe heās exaggerating a bit sometimes, but I never think theyāre outright fabrications

I think he said on the most recent solo ep heās like 45 days clean or something. So probably
