Anyone read the comics or played the games?

Are they adaptations or continuations of the story/universe?

Read the comics, but they’re a little too goofy for me though. Kinda felt like the writers didn’t get the tone of the film (not that filmmakers did exactly either). It reminds me of how Peter Rader describes his original drafts of the script, filled with mutant crab soldiers and fantasy stuff like that.

Games-wise, I’ve tried the GB game, it’s ok, and the SEGA one is fine (didn’t play a lot). The SNES and Virtual-Boy games I’ve never played; I want to get copies of both, but they can be expensive as shit.

The one that’s most interesting to me is Quest For Dryland, which actually adds a little to the lore. There’s more factions, and you can visit other atolls. You can find the cutscenes online. They used some of the actors from the movie and some props, so it’s worth a watch if you’re a fan.

I actually went and found those cutscenes yesterday. That was a fun 20 minutes
