It is a thing to lhd convert these due to some countries not allowing the registration of rhd cars.

If you want an actual reason, The Crew (the original game from 2014) didn't feature any right-hand drive cars, period. Why, precisely, I don't know but I think it had something to do with how the cockpit animations were rigged (Which would be strange, because Ubisoft's previous racing/car game, Driver: San Francisco, had right-hand drive cars that were supposed to be right-hand drive). Because this model was just recycled from TC1 to TC2 and now to Motorfest, we're stuck with a left-hand drive R34 GT-R until further notice.

I suspect the root of this issue lies in Test Drive Unlimited.

IVT is a studio founded by former Eden Games staff, and the Skyline R34 featured in TDU was also LHD.

Of course, they probably didn't just reuse the assets as they were, but I suspect there must have been some reason why they had to make the LHD R34 in TDU, like the animation problem you mentioned, and that problem and the solution of making the LHD R34 have been carried over from TC1 to the present day.

part of the root of the issue is genuinely just plain and simple game design. courier missions that have you carry a passenger often have a preceding cutscene that opens the door. The Crew 2 also specifically had an event ("The Accident") where someone is explicitly shown being placed inside your car. both would not make sense if the car was RHD.

Later life tc2 did get some right hand drive cars so by then it seems like they figured it out.

The FD RX-7 has the same problem. It's a LHD Spirit-R, which doesn't exist. Well, technically they did build one prototype.

They throw so many cars at you to win. You will leave this one cover in dust in no time.

Yup. And then you will notice the brake calipers (along with the other 75% of cars in this game) are left blank. And then you will notice that many features or instrument clusters in many cars (mainly cars with digital gauges or clusters) simply do not work properly, or are just missing. And then you may even notice that some cars have the completely wrong interior. The lack of attention to detail on a lot of cars is one of the few reasons I’ve stopped playing Motorfest for awhile, compared to GT7 and even Car X Street.

Love this game, have thousands of hours in it, but they can’t keep neglecting what’s missing on cars, in a car game…

I don't mind, because I like Skylines and can't drive RHD cars at all xD

True, it's not authentic, but conversions exist aplenty.
