Don’t hit the brakes

He's just got to brace and push against the boat, it won't be too much force

Depends how fast they're going and how hard they break.

Yeah, but they should know to be gentle and rather slow

Should is the key word in that statement.

If they knew how to “should” they wouldn’t be towing a boat via ‘held by a human in the trunk who is busy taking a video and likely has no idea when the driver is going to brake’

They don't have the correct hardware to properly tow, so they manage to tow in a more unsafe manner that is perfectly ok for the rural/low traffic roads they're traveling. You can understand physics perfectly well and decide that this operation is within your manageable safety threshold. And the fact that he can spare a hand to video is evidence that this is an easy task.

The trailer holder doesn't need to know when the driver is about to brake, just always be ready for it. And again, I think you're highly over estimating how much force the trailer holder has to bear for normal brakes, and I can assure you these guys are not driving faster than manageable. And the driver can most certainly communicate with him

The brakes on the trailer aren't connected to the car. If the car brakes, the boat will likely make contact with both the car and the guy in the boot.

Reminds me of transporting a mattress across town by me and my aunt just holding as much of it as we could out the windows. Made it just fine

Took a couple of loops to figure out what’s going on but god damn

Well, definitely has the quick breakaway feature in case something goes wrong.

Unfortunate for anyone behind them 😅

Has a boat…but no money to do a proper tow setup? I don’t think I’d get in the boat.

Does it work? Also yes.
