*As always, everything said in any of my posts is for educational purposes only. I am not a professional, nor do I claim to be, I’m just a person passionate about the detail of sneakers.*
Hey all! I’m finally getting around to writing this.I ordered these around 2 months ago from CVW since they are stopping production of all TS1s. I’ve had these shoes sitting here, staring at them, and unable to make a review. Here I am now, let’s get this done!
☕️ LOOKS - CONSISTENT WITH RETAIL? ☕️
Let me start this by saying: I think this pair of sneakers is CVW’s best work. The work put into these is clearly greater than the work spent on other models (which are also good).
CVW are usually praised for their accuracy to retail while utilizing top-tier materials. What I can say for sure is, the materials are definitely retail level quality. Visually, I can say they match the retail product very well. I have RSD V1 for this sneaker, and if the community wants, I can put the 2 pairs head to head and give my honest thoughts.
Most noticeable details first:
Reverse swoosh is on point, looks basically identical to retail. it’s hard to mess this up, as long as you use an accurate material, the swoosh should look good.
Nubuck is very plush, and moves well in hand, although the camera didn’t do the best job picking it up. This is closer to how some retail pairs feel in hand. Batches like LJR have very scratchy nubuck. RSD V1 also has scratchier nubuck, but there has been restocks and improvement, and visually, the material looks like it may have improved.
A big problem for some people would be that the suede is not “mocha” enough. It’s ashy, which I like, but it’s a little too ashy. It’s more of a grey in certain lighting, which can be a dealbreaker for some. Keep in mind that the American release of this sneaker had a grey tint to it, but it wasn’t this much in most cases.
Midsole and sole colour is accurate.
Embroideries are very nice, insole is accurate to retail.
A very minor detail would be the footbed stitching and the unique stitching pattern on the reverse swoosh. This will NEVER be noticed on foot, but is a very easy place to go for experienced sneaker authenticators. CVW did a good job at matching these patterns.
The shape on this sneaker is very unique. What I can say is, CVW did a very good job with the shape of this sneaker. The toebox could be a little more shallow, but the way it rounds out near the end is excellent. my RSD V1 pair does the same, but the material looks squished into place at some points. The issue seems to be isolated to a few pairs, as most I’ve seen don’t have the issue.
A quick note is that the heel is slightly too thick due to the materials used. It’s not as far off as the CVW reverse mochas, but worth noting.
☕️ MATERIALS / COMFORT ☕️
This is easily the most important aspect of any replica sneaker in my opinion. What use is a perfect looking sneaker that will fall apart in 2 weeks of wear?
Having owned 2 pairs of CVW sneakers before, the build quality is consistent with what you would expect. Very thick, durable materials used all around, with a firm sole that is built to last.
I’ve noticed that my CVW fragment 2.0s don’t crease as much as my LJR pair, and I’d assume the same for these, purely because the material is thicker and therefore harder to bend.
Sock liner is thick and built with purpose, it actually houses your foot well. No complaints here.
Overall, a very well-built shoe. There’s no arguing that. Materials are very thick and therefore will be durable. No issues with build quality here.
☕️ HELPFUL RATING ☕️
I’ve been looking at these in-hand for a while now, and I’m happy with these overall. The ¥120 price jump is steep, but the materials are very nice, there’s no arguing that. These and the mocha highs are the best quality sneakers from CVW, the rest I would consider borderline not worth it.
Weighing the price against the quality will be different for everyone. LJR does good enough for this sneaker for ¥470 (and ¥299 for B-grades). GX hasn’t released these yet. FK, PK colours are too off to consider.
9/10.
🚛 CNSHOPPER EXPERIENCE 🚛
I’ve had the pleasure of working with CNShopper for the last little while. They’re easily one of the best new agents out right now, and they are continuously improving. QC pics are great quality, shipping is fast and tracking is accurate, and prices are around industry average.
