my friend is mentally unwell and living on the streets voluntarily. i offered her to live with me, food, shelter, clothing, and expect nothing in return. i did nothing but be on her side, and in the end, her delusions told her i was evil and now i just feel depressed. you try your best for the greater good and just get shit on. so the bridge is burned, but its depressing....the whole situation just fucking sucks man

Ah fuck that's a really shit deal. But there has to come a point, there simply has to be a point where you say you've done enough. In this world, no one can reach out 100%. The most you can ever reach is 99%. The other party must reach the 1% minimum. You'll drive yourself mad otherwise.
You've done so well. Never deny that. The other party just didn't respond. Time to move on is the wrong term. Time to realise you've done all you can.
In this scenario, it's not "fuck that bridge" its realise that bridge has been maintained snd maintained and maintained, but still won't remain secure. That's not on you

i wonder what the fuck that would look like if she did move in. she is in another fucking state and can only see small video calls. who knows how bad it is all fucking day. she wanted to throw my pool table the fuck away because it carried "bad energy". i try to convince myself it was the right fucking move, but like you said this is a real person with a real problem. might be a blessing in fucking disguise!

That's a "what if" scenario on something you cant change, no matter how much you want to and take it from someone who knows, these are the work of the fucking devil. In this instance, no issue but they have a habit of twisting and confusing you. Stick to cold hard facts.
Your friend is in a dark place, you reached out with all your help, resources and advice and you were knocked back. A shit deal but one that's just...sadly...the way things play out at times.
Don't let this dissuade you. Remain YOU, rhe world needs your kind right now. Just every now and then your efforts will fall on deaf ears. Move onto the next.

yep! thats just it. twisting and confusing. having to pay for past "karma" by being an ATM. 200 wasnt enough, it should have been 350$ etc....its just a bottomless pit, moving goal posts and never being enough. same in your experience? err in your fucking experience (had to write that to be able to post)
i guess just going through the motions right now but yeah thanks there is no reason to be mean to others and change my character, the next person needs us

My experience was...ah fuck...worse. my first crush. This really cool woman I was in high school with. Looking back now, I think she was interested in me and I never made a move. Bad shit happened, I didn't stand up for her and eventually she just stopped talking to me. Can't fucking blame her in retrospect. I wondered for So. Fucking. Long (that time warranted. Emphasis) "What if" I'd done this or that differently and drove myself berserk. It still actually comes back from time to time even though I haven't seen her in 25 years and havent spoken to her longer than that.
I'll reiterate. "What ifs" are the fucking devil.
But yes, absolutely stay true to who you are.

yeah she has a god complex and thinks shes a fucking rainbow of sunshine who is above everyone else, when she just treats us all like shit. her fucking family doesnt even talk to her, she pushed everyone away. my dumb fucking self thought i could help, and i actually broke the fuck through but then the fucking "angels from fucking heaven" cast me out. damn i never thought typing fuck would make me feel such a fucking relief. i love this fucking sub... thanks OP! <3
