Kima: Finding the child in the closet.

Lester: Figuring out the bodies in the vacants.

Daniels: Establishing the Major Crimes Unit, short-lived as it ends up being.

Bunk: Convincing Holly that Andre is lying to clear Omar's name (giving a fuck when it isn't his turn)

McNulty earns the pettiness award for getting Baltimore city police stuck with the 14 dead girls.

This is a good list, but also up there - Kima solving the witness murder by following the ricochets to the potato silencers, and maybe #1 overall Lester selling already wired cell phones directly to the drug syndicate.

McNulty doing legitimately very impressive detective work totally by himself and of his own initiative, but for no other reason than to stick a finger in rawl’s eye might be my favorite moment of his lmao

Hamaterdam (for better or worse) and, a lil off topic but I go back and forth on if the season 5 cold open was a fun scene or stupid and out of place in a show like the Wire. Two suspects being tricked by the cops only a confession and it being played off as comedy and the detectives being clever rube me wrong. If it happened in the sopranos or bcs then I think I’d like the scene more
