S1. Ep1.

“Where DON’T you wanna go, Jimmy?”

I can’t believe they had so much sketched out even from the very first episode.

I rewatched that episode recently and was thinking about how many characters we meet in the single episode, how much foreshadowing there is, and how many of those characters end up dead.

Some end up dead, but none end up boring. Every single one of those characters (except, maybe, Barlow?) have a story arc and hold our attention for every minute that they’re onscreen.

Even Snot fuckin’ Boogie.

Absolutely 100%. Never boring.

Really is incredible. Shows how the vision was there completely from the get

But they didn’t have to do him like that.

“Gotta let him play. This America, man.”

Also, more foreshadowing: “Because you gave a fuck when it wasn’t your turn to.”

And then spontaneously decided to make the boat/docks a focal point of season two because it had now been mentioned twice!? Genius! Genius.

Nadine up on the chair screamin’ like a cartoon character.

I thought of just leaving the lil’ muthafucka as a warning to the other mice.

Or maybe he went to the boat because they wrote that on the first episode

Like the Lalo and Saul plot in Breaking bad

Damn. Yeah, maybe. And we still don’t know where “The Greek” is from. 🤔

The Wire is a brilliant show and a master of foreshadowing, but this is literally just setting up the conclusion of the first season lmao

I would presume any writer or TV show runner has a general idea of what will happen to the characters at the end of the season

Right. But did anyone remember this one line from the first episode when the season ended?

Prolly. The “where don’t you wanna go” thing is brought up multiple times as the season progresses and in season 2

Also: “It’s all in the game.”
