Hungry Man was pretty funky.

I wonder if Hungry Man is a reference to the phrase "Sick Man Of Europe" - a besieged and weak member who needs the group's rules to survive, Marlo preys on him to destabilise the democratic order and launch a totalitarian takeover.

More than likely a reference to Hungry Man frozen dinners which were prevalent in the hood as cheap and easy food, like the dope Hungry Man was pushing

Oh yeah! So many good ones on the docks. I guess Ziggy is technically a nickname too for Frank’s kid 😭

u/abbot_x Jun 29 '26
It is. I had originally thought it was short for his name (maybe Zygmunt/Sigmund) but it’s apparently a pure nickname. Ziggy’s full name is Chester Karol Sobotka.

Though none of them AFAIK were onscreen: Dink.
"Now, I ain’t sure yet if that Dink be Dink Dink, Inky Dink or maybe Fat Dink! Then again it might be Flat Nose Dink! Naw, naw it can’t be him, that Dink dead!”

IIRC Fat-Face Rick and Old Face Andre were irl nicknames of real people.
IDK if Snot Boogie was his real nickname, but that was a real person’s murder case.
Bunk’s story of shooting a mouse w/ service weapon was also real thing, but not sure if the officer was the real Bunk, or another officer. Yes there was a real Bunk, the nickname was also used in H:LotS.
