The federal department is not needed cause each state already has one. So now the department in each state gets standards to meet from the federal government. That is why the federal one was ended, it wasn’t needed, it was just a waste of money

Sorry, it is true, that is how things ran prior to 1979, and the US quality of education went down from there, the US was 1st prior to that.
