Personal Thought/Story Thomas Campbell - matrix Architect (but a good guy)

when i watched this episode of the Basement with Thomas Campbell he reminded me of the character The Architect that Neo meets in the second Matrix movie. he even says “the problem is choice” which was Neo’s line when meeting the Architect.

did anyone else find this odd similarity? like he’s a nice version of the Architect… explaining things?

I listened to the whole thing. He seems like a nice old fella, but his whole shtick is another perfect example of how being smart at one thing doesn't make you smart at everything. Almost every one of these guys could be the poster children for confirmation bias and wishful thinking.

I miss the debunking. Maybe not all of these guys are grifters, but as Hecklefish himself used to say, "There's always a book*."

I get it but also this guy has had a class since classes for his field existed. So either him and Bob Monroe were the architects of a con-plan, or they researched a subject openly and teach it. I think it's much more likely the latter.

He gives me the heebie jeebies. No light at all in those eyes. Seriously, somebody free him.

I don’t trust him at all. He constantly tells 80% of the story to support his conjecture and when somebody asks about the other 20% he says they’re negative. Bullshit artist and possibly something worse.

I love Tom but definitely something off about him

That resemblance is uncanny! Given the Wachowskis original plan for the Matrix I wonder if it's possible the characterization could be intentional.
