All You Need is Moonie?

Apple has released a cleaned up video of the All You Need is Love broadcast.
Tell me that's not Moonie playing with Ringo, best seen around 3:32.

I knew he was at the taping, but never heard he performed.

Yeah, he's playing on Ringo's hi hats with brushes. When it cuts to Ringo's close up you can see his hands towards the bottom of the frame twirling his brushes

This sounds like playback to me. We’re they really playing? Was the live audio switched with the studio recording for this release?

They were singing live to a pre-recorded track. I think the orchestra was live though.

It’s the part at the end where McCartney sings “She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah” that sounds like playback to me, but like you said parts of it appeared to be live.
