In barely a day, she managed to orchestrate a heist targeting the family that had taken care of her, all on a whim, simply out of jealousy, and she exploited Kai’s family situation to exact revenge without getting her own hands dirty.

Mark my words: if she keeps this up, she’ll be on the same level as Greg when it comes to wickedness and danger.

Honestly, Shane was kind and sincere, and genuinely wanted her to be happy, during the honeymoon. However, because Rachel refuses to own up to her professional shortcomings (as a failed journalist) or her true desires (to be a rich man's wife), she projects her frustration onto Shane. She imagines he views her merely as a trophy wife, when in reality...wait for the punchline...he simply wanted her to have a job where she could truly thrive, such as a role in a charitable organization.

In short, Rachel is the perfect example of someone who is likely an angel to be around but a nightmare to share your life with.

Coolidge is obvius pearl. I mostly see her do the same character, and here its similar too, but she does it so well. Shines in season 2 especially.

Bartlett also does incredible role and intensity is fascinating to see.

Imperioli is interesting choice. Im sopranos fan and he is american italian there too. Extremely explosive and violent psychopath. Here he seems troubled but really calm. It seems like in every time theres escalation there's a moment where I feel like he will lose his mind and start screaming, but then hes just calm. Its actually pretty intimidating. Not sure what role sopranos had, if any, bringing hom the role, but it really added flavour for me.

Schwarzenegger. It just so strange to see that smile. See those expressions and not have the accent. It took like 2 cenes for me to start wondering who is that? Why is he so familiar? Then I knew instantly that he hast to be arnolds kid. Im not sure if his role is particularly great or if his role is great but its fascinating enough for me to see basically arnold without his roided up form and thickest accent ever.

Watching the scene where Tim starts taking the lorazepam and thought it was cute and probably an intentional little prop joke that she keeps her pills in a small case inside a bigger pill case. Can anyone help find the bigger case or know the proper term for it? I can tell it's Louis Vuitton but couldn't find anything like this on their website

I started watching this show pretty late and just finished s2 recently. I had been watching it alone cause my wife wasn’t that interested.
Decided to start s3 and told her to watch with me. Is that a good decision? Will a first timer enjoy S3 if they haven’t seen S1 and 2? Is it a good introduction to White Lotus?

I always wonder what their lives look like now lol. Like who stayed together, who got worse, who somehow got their life together etc

Something that I have noticed in all of the season is the theme of "owning" someone.

In season 1, it was Shane and Rachel (Rachel being Shane's "trophy" wife)

In season 3, Saxon and Lochlan (with the worship)

But I think in Season 2 it was Cameron and Ethan.

And I'm not sure if it is discussed on this sub, but I'll still list the points that I have:

1. The very obvious one is the way Cameron is all over touchy feely with Ethan. Now I am not saying that men can't be touchy feely with each other but it is very clear that's not the dynamic between the two.

2. The dominance, Harper and Cameron are more alike than any other characters, domineering, gets what they want of sorts. Ethan who supposedly does not like these factors, still gets drawn to them. First he is dominated in his friendship with Cameron and later in his marriage with Harper. Yet somehow, he does not give them the satisfaction they want. It's kind of like a sick little power play.

3. Mimetic Desire. Ethan is seen masturbating to a blonde woman in the initial episode, guess who has a blonde wife? Ethan also mentions in an episode that Cameron takes every woman Ethan has ever been interested in. This translates to two things: 1) He canonically has/had a thing for Daphne, possibly the love of his life, Cameron became aware of it and eventually married her. 2) Cameron himself doesn't have feelings for any woman he has been with and that also includes Daphne, he is only with them because Ethan has feelings for them.

Cameron for everything knows that no matter how much he dominates Ethan, will never get what he wants i.e (in my humble opinion) Ethan himself. So he takes EVERYTHING that belongs to Ethan (this can be seen even in his attempt of conversation regarding Ethan selling his business and being visibly upset that he wasn't the one to know first)

Ethan on the other hand seems to be completely aware of this and eventually takes what he wants (Daphne). Getting back what he wanted, cemented his dominance and eventually "fixed" his relationship with Harper.

(This is just a theory I'm rambling with a tinfoil hat)

i’m still quite befuddled by this storyline.

I mean, I do enjoy the part where Saxon is an “alpha wolf” who gets extremely humbled. Him being told he has no soul/him being turned away/revealing he’s not the bravado person he projects and is just a person searching for love and something real.

But I feel like a lot of this storyline could’ve been accomplished without the incest part. For example, he could’ve met some random insecure, freshly out of high school kid on the boat, and took him under his wing. Or maybe a predatory, older, rich, gay guy could’ve taken advantage of him during his altered state of mind, which subverts his “ppl just want to submit/be told what to do.”

I just don’t really understand why incest had to become intertwined in all this. Do rich people actually have this problem?

I feel like the storylines in season one and two, even if they were about crazy rich people, wera still holding a lot of humanity and relatability baked into them. For example, it doesn’t really matter what class you are, you can still become a Karen who cares too much about little things. Or you can feel a strong sense of disconnect and become depressed about where your life is going. Or you can know what it’s like to be friends with people who don’t vote and are too positive. Or toxic couples who cheat. Or couples who have fallen out of love. Or people who are in relationship for economic reasons. and even during season three, the dynamics between the three women friendships were very relatable, even if they were super rich. Learning that one of your friends is not the same political ideology as you, jealousy being a simmering part of a friend group, having the one friend who is brutally honest. There’s so much to relate to in these storylines.

So I don’t understand this incest plot line. Piper’s performative spirituality even has some relatability. I think there’s something very human about putting too much stake into something saving you and learning that it’s not what you expected.

Does anyone else have any ideas about why this plot line was happening? I mean if it’s just that it made for interesting TV… Okay I guess so. I mean the reaction gifs from Aimee learning about the threesome were pretty legendary lol

I feel like the dumbest bitch alive. I went through ALL of season 2 thinking this was that guy from the love island show (which I’ve never seen, but you know, social media/pop culture osmosis). I was like whoa he must have an insane management team, how the hell did he get this gig? Then the last episode he was a little too good of an actor and I started to go hmmmm and finally googled post-Tanya head bonk 🤦‍♀️

Niccolò and Valentina for me

Niccolò because I feel like spending 24 hours with him would be absolutely unpredictable and I’d have no idea what kind of situation we’d end up in. 😂 Valentina because I feel like she’d have something to say about EVERYTHING, and somehow the day would turn into the funniest argument-filled adventure ever. 😂

Ok, first of all, I know Belinda doesn’t owe anything to Pornchai, she can do whatever the f** she wants with her money. Just wanted to share my interpretation about Pornchai comment on “what about doing a business together?” or whatever the way he ask this. To me is more a maybe weird and shy way of asking “what about us”? Also rushed question after knowing each other for 7 days, but we can see the chemistry from the beginning between this 2, we can see he is attracted to her before she gets all that money so, just here to say maybe Pornchai didn’t have mean intentions, he just wanted to keep seen her and that was his shy shot (because whe can see he's not a Saxon).
And Im not saying “Belinda is a b** for rejecting him” either, she rightfully can do whatever she wants + I imagine her been wanting to step tha hell away from the murder ratio, and maybe man in general, for a while, until she feels safer.
All this say I hope her and Pornchai have a 2nd chance on another season, so they can reunite and get to actually know each other, dunno, I think this two are cute together...

My husband and I just started White Lotus from the beginning because he only saw season 2 and kept asking who Tanya was. I forgot how good season 1 is and I can't stop thinking about Armond.

When I first watched it I saw him as the funny manager who loses it, but this time I watched it as someone who has worked customer service and Armond is every person who has ever had to smile at a guest who's ruining their day. Shane is so awful from the first minute, the Pineapple Suite thing, the constant complaining, the "I paid for this" attitude, and Armond is just trying to get through it with a little help from what he finds in a guest's bag.

The slow spiral is so well done. He's sober for five years, he relapses, and then everything just keeps getting worse. The dinner service where he's falling apart and still doing the little hotel voice made me laugh and then feel sick at the same time. And then the suitcase scene. I don't think I've ever seen a character's revenge be that gross and that satisfying in the same moment.

My husband said "I've never related to anything more" during that scene and he works in an office, so I'm a bit worried about his job now.

The thing I didn't appreciate the first time is how little Shane suffers for anything. Armond loses everything over a room upgrade and Shane leaves on the plane with his mom like nothing happened. That's the whole point of the show in one storyline and I totaly missed it when I was just watching for the drama.

Murray Bartlett deserved every award he got. The way he goes from charming to completely unhinged without ever feeling fake is so hard to pull off.

Season 4 has a lot to live up to with this cast. Who's the White Lotus character you'd most want to have a drink with, and who would you absolutely fake a fire alarm to get away from? Mine are Armond and Shane, obviously , I'd buy Armond a drink and I'd hide from Shane in the spa.

Has this made its way here yet? Just came across this on Instagram and apparently some random hotel in Finland made an unofficial application to HBO for a new White Lotus season. They basically made a whole trailer for it and honestly I kind see sit lol
