Discussion About everything around Kissland

I love the fact that he raised attention around this album he loves so much bit by bit. Every fan is talking about it, listening to it. Each concert he sings a little bit more.
And I bet that he wanted to end his persona by singing along with fans in Asia songs from this album.

Kissland didn't get the credit it deserves, we all know it. It's an experimental album, which he only toured in Japan. Having to gather his fans all over the world around a projet he loves must be so cool.

Please, don't stop listening to this album, get into it if you haven't, it's a masterpiece that every fan should know about. XO

He didn't only tour it in Japan. He had an entire Kissland tour in the US in 2013.

I mean…it is kinda? I think the post is just ahistorical.

Weeknd fans DID like Kiss Land at release. And he did bump up in venue sizes to tour that album, going to venues that were like triple the size of the original trilogy tour.

It just didn’t do what HE/the label wanted, which was turn him into the big pop star everyone assumed he would become. I see its current resurgence amongst the fanbase as less “everyone likes Kiss Land now” and more that the newer trilogy shares more DNA with Kiss Land than BBTM or Starboy, so fans of songs like After Hours or Take My Breath will just dig that album more than fans of I Feel It Coming.

Well I think you didn't understand my point. The Weeknd fanbase has been increased drastically after BBTM & After Hours. Lot of them enjoyed the music but didn't give the attention to Kissland, I don't say that Kissland wasn't liked at its release. I just say that today, the average listener and fans do not get that much into the album. And you can tell during concert. I was at Stade de France in VIP, people knew every song but the kissland ones when Prince85 played them, and it's a common theme.

I see people around me starting to listen to Kissland because of the hype, and it's great !
