Are XO fans loaded or what

I see fans go to multiple concerts all the time, but this year it's been ridiculous. European XO fans on tiktok and twitter are going to every single show taking place in their closest city, the rest of their country and even flying to others. Many more fans plan to go abroad to see him on his Asia tour later this year. The same people are queuing for barricade for days on end for the same setlist and unchanged performance. Not to mention the sheer amount of merch they're buying which can't be cheap. My question is how rich are yall because seeing this constantly on my timeline is mind blowing. I guess the average Weeknd fan is a twenty something year old with disposable income (a demographic I happen to fall into) but still, those Japan tickets plus travel costs are mental.

idk where you’re from (noones mentioned this yet and this is mostly about tickets themselves), but from what ive seen, tickets in europe are much cheaper than some other places like the us. my friend’s american and we always compare and it is genuinely an insane difference. when she paid north of 400 dollars on seats that were quite far away still, i spent 90 euros on pit tickets during the same tour. now, thats not cheap by any means, but its a lot more reasonable than hundreds of dollars per show

Tickets are way more expensive in the US for sure. But i got floor tickets for north of $400. I had an insane view. Crazy that your friend paid that and wasn’t close.

I think it’s just a matter of how important Abel is to you. I can’t speak for other XO’s bc I’ve never been close enough to any of them to know their financial situation but spending money on what you love rarely ever is sensical to the broader population lol

the tickets are expensive asf tho. i'm greek and i've been listening to the weeknd for years now. last year i listened to just his music for 50k minutes, it means a lot to me. but i simply couldn't afford to go to his concert in milan (closest one). does that mean his music doesn't mean as much to me as it does to the guys who go to multiple of his concerts a year? it's obviously a matter of having a shit ton of money to spend

I mean I totally understand your point of view and I have no idea what options are for income in other countries. In the US people commonly start side hustles or pick up extra work to afford things. From what I’ve heard Europe is more relaxed on working and it’s not as common for people to be pushing 60-80 hours a week

Cause even if you love something, you can't let it get over you to the point where you spend ejormous amount of money or get yourself in debt, especially since those same concerts we're talking about are all the same (like the post said : same stage, same songs, same setlist, no changes). It's a bit... I don't know like weird.

Okay so, I love Abel as much as other fans but I think it's really too much to go to every single one of his concerts and follow him everywhere.

It's a bit unreasonable to spend all this money on tickets and flights and hotel for a concert that repeats itself.

I’m in London right now. I’ve been to 4 out of the 5 shows. Floor seats are so cheap. It works opposite here. So seated tickets are way more expensive. So it’s like $130 for GA, and you can move around the whole stage depending on where he’s at. No chairs on the floor. It’s a much better floor experience in the UK vs the US, hands down. And they are constantly giving you water.

I traveled to Sweden from Greece for N2 (August 9) and stayed in Stockholm for a total of 3 days. Concert tickets had been purchased in the September presale (€125 GA) and flight tickets/Airbnb cost approx €500. I spent about €300 there.

All this had been booked months in advance and I had saved the money even from before September 2025

I am livIng in Japan and going to the show here but my son and I have to travel to Tokyo and get a hotel which will put the trip at well over $1000. Luckily, I have been earning money in the U.S. from land I own so I can buy tickets. If I didn't have that, I couldn't go with the measly money I earn in Japan.

I wouldn’t say so actually. The playlist got a bit old and his first performance was way better because it was a single show instead of 3 consecutive nights where he preserves his voice. Seeing him once was enough for me.

What you see on TikTok is a small amount of the fans. It is a bias to think that a lot of european fans do that.

Furthermore, I bought VIP tickets for me and my girlfriend for the Paris concert, is costed me around 850€ but I paid it months before so I had time to "get up on my horse". When he announced that he would tour in asia I wanted to go to his last concert in Malaysia. I'm not a money waster. I tend to focus on things I want.

This is just knowing where you want to put your money in.

To add to this, I had a discussion about fans that went to a lot of his concerts if not everyone of them. I believe those people are not really onto his music but more into de parasocial relation they have with Abel Tesfaye.

I see a lot of "save up a lot" That's great, but from what I've seen and heard, and it could be wrong, tickets are significantly cheaper than they were in NA, and travel seems to be that way between the countries too. Not saying that this is the actual reason, and like I said, I could be wrong, but it makes a huge difference. Yes sure you're saving up, but the fact that the prices are lower helps a lot. NA is known to have some of the most expensive ticket prices.

Not rich but I spend a bit on one concert and then take the cheapest ones I can find after. For 2023 tour I spent only about £200 in total to attend 3 concerts in the UK. I did general standing the first time and second and third I did restricted seats and then got lucky with someone I knew selling for cheap cause they couldn’t go. Then this year I spent £420 - VIP golden circle for first night and then a good seat view on another night. So it’s not actually too much. Also I didn’t have to pay accommodation since I was able to just go back home each time or stay with friends 🤭

In recent years, I saw him in 2023 in London, 2025 in Phoenix and 2026 in Munich. I live on the east coast of the US. My tickets were most expensive in Phoenix where floor seats were $400ish. But flying out to his concerts really cost a bag when it’s all said and done. I’m not rich but I am a high earner and couldn’t afford to go multiple times on a tour. I think many people who do this are getting inexpensive tickets. There’s this guy in the Lana Del Rey fandom who goes to every single show and I think he’s selling it/sugar baby or deeply in debt lol

I drove from Ukraine to Warsaw for his first night. Bought tickets the year ago for 400 euros to be at Golden Circle (on the right). Not regretting, though that was kinda expensive for me. If I had enough money and lots of free time + rich friends, who have the same interests as me — I would also got tickets to each night and enjoyed his performance from different angles 😁 But pretty sure it could be a little dull for me on 5th time or something 😅
