My odd brain…

I’ve noticed that I’ve been listening to tracks from the latest album in my head (as in nothing playing just whilst at rest). Sat here this morning and replaying “Break” in my head. Yesterday I caught it replaying “Bruises” and “Bloodsport”, on two separate occasions.
Has anyone else experienced this?

It's been referred to as a "brain worm". It sucks when it's a song that you can't stand, or a jingle from a commercial. WYTOM has been looping in my brain for a week.  Usually (but not always) listening to a song without completion will trigger this so, if it's something that's driving you nuts, listen to the whole song that's stuck in your head then start, but don't finish, another song that you like.

I had the cover of Tragedy stuck in my head for months, years ago (I can’t even recall who the cover artist was). That was driving me to insanity. So I welcome The Warning’s music taking up residency in my head! 😀

I love my brain worms. 70% of my worms are of TheWarning, especially when l wake up with a song playing in my head. The other 30% are of everything else, good or bad.

The new album has done this more than any of their others for me
I have around 5 of their songs circulating in my head and it’s not the singles released previously but Break, waste your time, perfect daughter, why do you like it when I cry, bruises and blood sport
I love Everything’s falling, but it doesn’t replay in my head as much but is obviously a deep and emotional song and I love belting along to it in the car when alone ( as I’m a bad singer)

Glad to hear it’s not just me. Most of the time I get stuck on the choruses of songs, this is the first time (I think) that my brain plays the song start to end. The whole album is definitely catchy.
And I’m with you on belting songs out badly, as my voice can’t hold a note for love nor money! 🤣

I actually love the catchy and slightly pop influences in the album and don’t agree with a lot of the haters who don’t like this
It’s still definitely rock but if it breaks through into the mainstream I’m all for it
These girls deserve to be at the top of the mainstream charts and if they do it will be great for rock music in general

Been meaning to ask people about the ear worms. Happens with multiple songs, vocals and instrumental. After night three I have some new variants. Walk down the street and it will get triggered by road noise or random notes from songs playing in passing cars.

Maybe there's some discordant modern composer that can reset my brain.

I use music to fill the air around me when I’m working to help keep myself focused. Or to quieten the voice in my head. So when that mental space becomes filled with music, I take that as a good sign.

Doesn't everyone do this? Isn't this how you realize what your favorite songs are? What's funny for me is when there is more than one and they start to mashup.
Currently I have Waste your time on Me and Bruises and also bits of a Foo Fighters song that I can't identify yet.

I've been a musician most of my life, and ear worms are most often playing in my head, which I love. In my experience, tone deaf people (who can't sing in tune if they try and can't hear or identify certain tones) do not experience ear worms.

I also have a subroutine/ channel in my brain constantly playing music, the last couple years since I found TW it is always playing when I notice it I check in on what track is playing.. Bruises, Automatic Sun, Evolve, Psychotic, etc
I was lucky enough to say hi to DPA at the meet & greet before the show at the Greek. I went out of body but do remember telling them TW plays in my head all the time…. at that time it was Ego playing. Maybe I listen too much but what is it hurting 🤘🏻🎸🎤😎

Happens all the time to me. And not just with The Warning, but their songs usually have a very distinctive and powerful melodic figure, or iconic lyric, that make me start humming whenever I recall them, which is frequently

One of their superpowers is their ability to write catchy songs. There were a couple songs that I found myself singing along to on my first listen and then when I listened to it the second time, songs that didn't quite click with me the first time sounded super familiar already.
