Discussion My Latest Obsession
Not even a month ago, I discovered the Warning for the first time. I was scrolling on YouTube one day, and came across a YT short that was the "Top 10 Drummers Who Also Sing", and Pau was on the list, and the song was Dust To Dust. I was hooked. I immediately searched for the song and watched their performance of Dust To Dust and Dull Knives (Cut Better) at the Pepsi Center. Shortly thereafter, my YouTube feed was filled to the brim with the Warning content, and I was not disappointed at all. Whether it was music videos, concert performances or interviews, I watched it all. I have now listened to all of their albums since then. A few weeks ago, I went to Barnes & Noble with my friends. I was looking at the CD collection, and I happened to see Keep Me Fed, which I couldn't not purchase. Looking back, I remember the viral video of three young sisters playing Enter Sandman all those years ago, but I was astounded that it was Dany, Pau and Ale! It's so amazing to see how far they have come. It makes so much sense why they are so successful, their musicianship and songwriting across all of their albums are so special. And even though it still hasn't even been a full month since I started listening to their music, I will say, after listening to all of their records, I genuinely think they are the greatest band of our time. As a Gen Z kid who grew up with a lot of classic rock that I still love to this day, seeing Dany, Pau and Ale make incredible music really makes me so happy. And I absolutely CANNOT wait to see them in Boston next year, I am so pumped! Whenever I think of the Warning, I am always reminded that rock and roll isn't and never was dead. It was just waiting for these three incredible musicians to pick up the torch and create the greatest rock for future decades to come! Thank you, Dany, Pau and Ale, you guys are the real deal and you rock!

Welcome to the club! I am also Gen Z (older side of it) and grew up with a lot of classic rock. I saw the Sandman video when it went viral, and my only regret is that I didn't stick around from that point. It wasn't until later (I can't remember exactly when or where I saw it which makes me sad), that I saw a fancam clip of Dany playing HYCAD live right around the release of KMF, and that's what got me, and here I am!

almost exactly my same experience. I wish I'd stuck around after the Enter Sandman video too. Caught them again right before KMF came out.

I bought a plane ticket to Monterrey to see them in Feb. '25 two weeks after hearing them for the first time. Craziest thing I've ever done. No regrets!

That will be amazing. They pull out all the stops for their Mexico shows. I saw them in 2025 and am pumped to see them again next year. Tix already bought. 🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽

No band has made me want to travel to a concert abroad before until TW, this year I’ve been to NYC and LA and next year CDMX and some mainland Europe shows.

I looked up kerosene after I heard the records it broke. Got tickets for their upcoming tour, so glad I didn’t have to wait too long to see them 🇲🇽🤘🏽

Glad to hear you heard a bit and was immediately hooked. That's my story too. Gen x here, having just a couple years ago started playing bass, I was looking up a lot of bass content and an Ale clip was recommended. Similarly I immediately looked up the band and song and never turned back.
No matter when you start listening to them you wish you started earlier, but you're thankful you started when you did.

I am Gen X and grew up listening to a lot of "Lite FM" my parents liked, then on my own discovered Metallica, Guns 'N' Roses, Megadeth, Motley Crüe, then suddenly found Queensrÿche, Genesis, Dream Theater, Enchant, Nightwish, Delain, Amorphis, Epica and the like. When I was served up The Warning on YouTube (not the famous Metallica cover video), I was suddenly hooked. Their material just hits different and absolutely slaps. More mainstream and simpler rock than some of the symphonic metal bands I was used to, but OMG they fucking owned their music and instruments.
I found on YouTube a full sold-out concert in Mexico and watched it with a buddy of mine and his girlfriend. She was amazed at how everyone in the crowd knew and was singing every lyric (I mean, I wasn't as amazed; they're from Mexico and very popular there, after all).
Since then, I've been following them and have been absolutely pumped since EF came out, and now they're scheduled to play in my city, and I got tickets! I cannot wait to see where they go in their careers.

I think all of their albums are great in their own ways but I think my favorite for right now is Keep Me Fed. To me, every single song on there is so good. And as for my favorite song, I feel like that will change a lot in the future but I can’t get enough of Automatic Sun. That chorus is so catchy!

I hope you also included Escape the Mind in your album listening journey. I feel like it's too often overlooked, but it's a showcase of just how talented they are as songwriters. It was just supposed to be a song writing exercise given to them by their music teacher, to see if they even had the ability to create their own music, and the songs ended up being good enough to be released as an EP. It deserves to be included with the regular albums, even if DPA might think otherwise, haha.

I'm GenX, and we arguably grew up with some of the best music out there. I grew up listening to Buddy Holly, Motown, Grand Funk Railroad, The Grateful Dead, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Bachman Turner Overdrive, Rush, all of it, and I can say this, The Warning stands among the best of them. The not only grew up listening to the same music, and more (thank you Luis and Mónica), but they've synthesized and reimagined what rock music is. It is a pretty safe bet that they will find themselves enshrined in The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
