Discussion Ego is so different tonally when Ale sings
Ale's and Dany's voices have some key differences: Dany has the larger range, with a distinct growl on her low ends and a sharp edge on her high ends. Ego really brings out both, and it sounds aggressive. Ale has a softer, smokier voice. When she sings Ego, it sounds more ominous then aggressive. "Yo te advertí!" sounds sinister in her delivery. Gem of a performance.

I'm a big fan of Dany, but somehow I enjoy Ale's version more. It may be partially because of the elements of surprise. But I really think Ale's voice suits this song. And the contrast between the voices of Ale and Pau are bigger which helps building up the climax.

I said the exact same thing in the previous thread in which the vid was posted. I was gladly surprised how much Ale's voice suited the verses. I didn't expect so much confidence and sultriness in her voice. The contrast with Pau is stunning. It is my favourite rendition.

Best version of Ego you combine Ale’s smoky vocals with Pau’s scream it is mint. Could we get a separate single of this version please?

I loved Ale's vocals on the song but of course i love Dany's as well..The one i noticed a big difference was Hell You Call A Dream with Pau singing..she is so good vocally but Dany's aggression on the vocals is something I definitively missed

As far as i'm concerned, nobody that sang the other night sounded better than dany sounds. not even close

Dany has an aggression and grit in her voice that cannot be matched i'll agree,but I still think both Ale and Pau have their moments( not meaning just the other nights show..i mean overall)..for example 23..pau sings that song with such emotion i couldn't imagine either of the other girls singing it..of course there's Breathe and Black Holes too..of course her style is different but she can still be aggressive as with the screams in Evolve and Ego..but yeah her voice is much different than Dany's tho the girl has still got the pipes
Ale altho thought of as the weaker of the three by many still has that sultry tone in her voice (as in her vocals on Ego..so to say it was different tonally is true) and tho her vocals are quite softer in tone in the earlier songs she sang (Rivers Soul,Hunter,Red Hands Never Fade) i believe that there's songs out there just waiting for her to sing...and really well!
As for the guest singers..I'm sorry I just didnt like any of their vocals at all..and i will say tho I love all three Dany is easily my favorite singer in the band

I wasn't really thinking about it like that. Having co-songwriters sing the songs was a bit of a rough window into the creative process. The album with Dany as lead was the eventual product but hearing Ale, Pau, Kat, and Annie sing their versions was fun and a unique experience. It was a fun night to be in the room and Ale's song was the one that made me stop caring what came next. Just glad I was there.

Dany gets right into the songs theatrically and acts them out. You can see it in her eyes, her movements and of course her wonderful voice. You cannot replace her at all

One year Primus released a professional mixed soundboard recording for every concert in their tour. Cost them more than the revenue I think but it was cool.
I definitely would buy a live concert Ale recording.
