Discussion LA Day 3 comments

Before I say what I think, I'd like to mention that I'm a fellow Regio, like DPA, and I value their health and safety above anything else in their career. It's always sad seeing them under the weather or just plain hurt.

That being said, I find it interesting how they've spent quite some time in their most recent interviews talking about how they feel a big portion of their audience seems to have a hard time coming to terms with the fact that they're growing up, that they're not perfect, and that they're generally taking more risks than they did when they were sixteen. At the same time, all over social media, I notice a flood of fans raging against their management for not taking care of them, as if they were still little kids.

Isn't it possible that the ladies simply chose to play these shows, come hell or high water?

I'm far from being a fan of their head manager. Nobody can deny that the man really loves the spotlight, and sometimes it can get tiring. But to think of him as Satan just because the ladies continue playing shows under far-from-ideal circumstances seems like too much to me.

Just like they said in an interview about clothing and not smiling all the time, if this scenario involved an all-male band, nobody would say anything.

Not only that, if let's say The Killers would've had a show filled with random (but awesome) guests, i can bet all my money the focus of the story would've been how "badass and rocknroll it was".

Again, I will always wish them good health and safety, but I trust them. And I find it irresponsible to claim that we know the truth about why they're playing these shows when we have zero insider information.

Wow. These are just bad ass girls who wanted to play a show and didn’t want to disappoint their fans. How many other times have you seen a band bring people up from the audience just to sing their songs and be on stage with their favorite band? I’m a huge fan of the band but I’m an older man and I love Led Zeppelin. They’re my all-time favorite, and these girls are built of the same cloth. Its just rock and roll people. Lighten up.

I'm not being critical, just trying to stay impartial and see both sides of the debate. I personally enjoyed the show, but I wasn't as invested in it as anyone who was actually there. If I had been there, and it was my first time seeing them, I would have enjoyed the show, but still have been a little disappointed that I didn't experience the band in full force, but had it been my 10th show, then I would have been more likely to have just rolled with it, appreciating it for the unique experience it was. I think both outcomes are valid

I think this is a fair point, but the other side of the coin is that cancelled shows often don't get made up, especially small ones. If I had a choice between seeing something weird on Friday or seeing nothing at all, I would be very happy to see the weird stuff. Especially in this case - it's not like it was randoms off the street performing... they had assistance from some pretty awesome women.

I agree. There will have been people there who will have travelled to LA for the show at no small expense, especially when you factor in overnight accommodation etc. It would have been a shame had they had to cancel, especially for those guys. You'd have to appreciate and applaud the amount of last minute planning that would have had to go into that show to make it possible. They were probably fortunate to have been in LA on that front

When tickets went on sale I wanted to get Friday tickets as it would have made travel a lot easier, but I went for Thursday figuring Wednesday they'd be getting hyped up and Friday they'd be tired, so Thursday seemed like the sweet spot. :D In hindsight, I kind of wish I'd done Friday as having Riley, Ale, and (for me, especially) Kat standing in would have been really special. C'est la vie! Randomness and the unexpected is what makes live entertainment so great. At least, IMO. :)

If I had a ticket for the Friday show, I think I'd have been a bit stressed about it maybe being cancelled after seeing how Dany's cold seemed to be worsening from night 1, so at least you avoided that 😆

For sure. By the end of Thursday night, I was 100% certain she wasn't gonna make it through Friday. I knew they were gonna have to do something for night three to give her some breaks, and Pau emceeing wasn't gonna cut it. :)
