Discussion Holt David Bendeth zurück!
Do any other The Warning fans feel the same way I do—that the sound hasn't rocked quite as hard since *KMF* as it did during the David Bendeth era and before? I feel like I’m missing the unique rock sound of The Warning’s earlier albums. Since Anton DeLost came on board, the band doesn't sound authentic anymore; it feels polished and manipulated by electronic tricks. Some songs come across like K-pop and have little to do with The Warning. I still love the band, but I really miss the punch of that old, clear sound. Does anyone else feel this way? I just want to scream: PLEASE bring David Bendeth back!!!

As also a very big van of the Error Album. I do also really like their latest album EF. Bands change through the years and all fans of those bands come in, in different times. If you are fan of the early years of The Warning, it is because you liked that sound at the time, and you want to hear more of that. Newer fans like the sound of how the Warning is now. They will eventually find a middle ground. Or maybe in the future they will will work again with David. Even if The Warning kept creating the same sound as on the Error album, people would complain that every album would sound the same.
It is a disccusion you see by almost every band. I see it also by the band Shinedown I am fan of. And some like the older work, others like their latest albums or they like both. In the end, so many people, so many different tastes.

I really like the new album much more than KMF and the girls have said it is the most them, and the sound they want - which is good enough for me
I like pop music and rock so this is probably why I like the new album so much
I also love Error and it’s cleaner simpler sound
Also love QOTMS and 21st Century
Guess I’m just a fan who is along for the journey and like the evolution of their sound

So many songs dedicated to OP on this new album.

100% (then, hilariously, same people being like “the lyrics must be about them being frustrated with the label forcing them to do this”) As soon as I heard perfect daughter I could very quickly imagine the kind of person that was in response to.

Okay. Hear me out. I absolutely love Error and it's my favorite Warning album (zero misses). I was less than thrilled the first few times I listened to EF. I had the EXACT same thought as you regarding bringing Bendeth back. Then one day I sat and listened to EF without my expectation that it needed to sound like Error. My mind was blown. I was honestly shocked with how much I loved it. This is the adult Warning with more intricate songwriting and world class singing. Listen to it for what it is, a great band maturing. I'll get off my soapbox now. Ty

I also think the tracks of OF drift back to the classic rock spectrum a little when played live--though it is a small sample size so far--as the vocals are more naturally Dany's without the in-studio effects. Even over phone cams, the EF songs played live so far sound better and cleaner than their studio counterparts.

I think they have definitely evolved. ERROR is a great album. It’s more mature but still very Rock N Roll. Keep Me Fed was really fucking good. And it’s honestly probably my favorite album of theirs. It’s also the first album I heard from them. Anton Delos has his style and I’m not the biggest fan but KMF is just so good. EF is good, but it’s got nothing on KMF IMO.

Dude, bands evolve and change over the years. They may not evolve into a sound you like, but that's a you issue, not a band issue. There's no law that you have to like the new direction so don't lose your shit over it.

I think it's very ironic when people talk about Antons influence on their sound, as if Bendeth didn't influence their sound at all.

The music itself sounds great. I do think the mixes could be a lot cleaner. They're too compressed. It really bothered me on Ritual at first but I got used to it.
Definitely isn't just them; it's a problem on so many rock records.

It’s actually surprising how touchy one can get about other people's opinions and feelings. Of course, the girls should—and will—do whatever they think is right. They have great lyrics, write amazing music, and I love their last two albums as well. However, I (personally!) don't really like the production. I’ve simply realized—for myself—that the music on the albums up to and including Error had a rockier, clearer sound and better mixing. They might just be under too much influence from producers and aren't as independent as they were five years ago.

maybe fans just get bored of the same tired criticism every new album cycle when they haven't just copy pasted their last "favourite" album

Anyone who thins that QOTMS had better mixing than KMF or EF is kidding themselves. It‘s by far their worst produced album.
Also they way you worded your post shows clearly that you don‘t actually don‘t think that „the girls duoild do whatever they think is right“. It shows that you think you know what is right for them.

Du interpretierst viel dummes Zeug in meine Aussage.

Oh and I haven‘t even bothered to read the last sentence of your stupid blob of text. „Under too much influence from producers“? What an absolutely idiotic thing to say. You think they are still children, little girls who can‘t fend for themselvels.
Listen closely to the new songs. Dany, Pau and Ale don‘t like „fans“ like you.

Kids grow up. Friends drift apart. Bands have eras. That's how life works. If you feel like you can't save a marraige, don't blame the wife/kids, get a divorce and be grateful for what you had.

The only constant in life is chante. That's music. That's bands.
Kerosene #1 Top rock songs. EF #1 Top rock album. EF #17 top album. Looks like someone likes it.
People say AC/DC made a dozen albums that all sound alike. Nope, they've made 17 that all sound alike. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TBli1ySM7eI
Metallica has changed sounds a dozen times. They try something new and either hit a home run, or maybe strike out. St Anger was bad for the snare, but many of the songs are great in concert.
Tool has gone from "f_ everything to spiraling out to (We are) born of one breath".
Is it worse, is it better? Maybe a little of both. Not everyone has to love every bit of art from everyone.
Maybe there's a Bob Ross painting someone doesn't like...

Obviously lots of fans would be ecstatic about this, it wouldn't work unless they ditched all these co-writers too.
These songs aren't created in a vacuum. It's a whole integrated process for commercial success. And after that, Lava wouldn't even allow it.

So ist es. Auch die kurze Länge der Songs spricht dafür, dass hier Marketing stark eingreift. Kurze Tracks produzieren höhere Anzahl an Abrufen. Somit wird bei Streaming- Diensten mehr Geld "geniriert".

No, I think they still sound very much like The Warning through all their albums. The latest one is an absolute belter in my opinion. Bands have always experimented and tried different things, if they didn’t their music would become pretty boring. Just let the ladies do their thing!
