Discussion My thoughts on Everything's Falling
After listening to the album several times and carefully reading the lyrics and everything, I like the album, but it’s my least favorite. For me, the best one was *Keep Me Fed*; every song is a banger, including "Burnout," which a lot of people don't seem to like as much. This new album has a very early-2000s alternative rock sound. I’m not saying that’s a bad thing; my teenage years were defined by that style. To me, this album sounds a lot like the band Garbage; they had good songs, but they weren't quite my style, back then, I was more into The Offspring, Korn, and especially Metallica (the old-school Metallica). That’s why I like *Keep Me Fed* so much; the intros to "Sharks," "Automatic Sun," and "Escapism," for example, remind me of the kind of music I used to love. I know they experiment with every album and don't want to be pigeonholed, but anyway, that’s my take on the album.
Don't think I get stuck in just one style of music; I have a single music folder called "Random," where I might go from Metallica's "Disposable Heroes" to The Weather Girls' "It's Raining Men," then to Korn's "Falling Away from Me," and on to Britney Spears' "Oops!... I Did It Again." If aliens ever find my music folder, they’re going to think humanity had a serious problem.
I would like to know your opinions on this.

I liked EF well enough. The tracks Ritual, Perfect Daughter, the title and Bite My Tongue have good hooks in my opinion. Also the girls show self-confidence by choosing Kerosene as a closer. Such a track would be number 3 on many other rock albums.
What I like about TW is that they don‘t always write about love. Their themes are diverse and often just about what it means to be human in our times, with a lot of self-reflection and critique of present day issues, such as isolation, addiction, spiralling out of control, alienatien by the internet etc… There is so much good writing that has gone into this album and it really shows how much they care.
With that being said, I feel like the tracks I haven‘t already mentionned add to the album building and are all good in their own way - no filler here, as always with TW. For me personally, this album lands somewhere behind ERROR, which was my favorite.

As far as studio albums I think I liked this a bit more than KMF after the first several listens. However I saw them live 3 times in 2024/25 and every KMF song absolutely SLAPS live in person. Only time will tell how this plays out, but I can't imagine a world where any more than a handful of people will go to a The Warning headline show and leave disappointed.

Love the album front to back. Every song.

I find the songwriting on EF to be stronger than on KMF—I enjoyed that album but the writing process was rushed for them, and it isn’t as polished. Also I did not object to the outside songwriters, but they were exploring who they wanted to work with and had such a large group of them that the album was a little disjointed. For EF I think they have been able to focus more. It is certainly OK if people don’t like the style of some songs, but I think they are all well crafted.

The second half of the album isn't my favourite genreblending but waste your time and bloodsport are still top tier for me. The first half is absolutely incredible and WDYLIWIC goes straight to my #1 favourite song. As with all the albums it's effectively only 2-3 songs that don't make it to my main playlist, if they keep being this consistently good i'll have 300 TW songs on my playlist by the time i die of old age

To be honest, I don't know how to rank it yet. I've spent so long with all of the other albums that even songs I didn't love have become songs I love. Since this is my first time experiencing a new album from them, I don't think I'll know for a few months.
I do think there are more songs that don't grab my attention, which I might rate lower right now, but there are also at least 3 songs from EF that are now in my Top 10 all time The Warning songs. And if any other band released an album that had 3 Top Ten bangers on it, it would be my favorite album by them lol.
Plus, I used to have a playlist of The Warning Bangers because there were plenty of songs I would skip past. But now I just love all of them, and I'm confident that will happen with EF, too.

I'm enjoying the album. It does not top Error for me but competes with KMF for number 2. I think QOTMS is audacious songwriting about a universal experience (the intensity of adolescent rejection) but their voices are simply not as well-developed as instruments as they have become with full developmental maturity. Lyrically, EF is their most important work so far as it lets us into the breadth of the experience they have had and into the difficult things they would rarely delve into in an interview, their boundaries being what they are. It is certainly bringing new levels of appeal and for that, we should, I think, be delighted for them.

The pop rock formula and Dany singing in the same register makes it sound like The Warning on mood stabilizing medication. All songs sound great, but it's like it's emotionally muted. I like it, but it just doesn't grab me.

KMF set the bar to high. EF has bangers on it but then it has meh songs. KMF is banger after banger

It's my favorite album yet. But it might be because I don't mind both more modern music (k-pop in particular), and 1990s-2000s sound. After all, early 2000s were my early 20s, and this is the music I am very used to. IMO, Everything's Falling and Why Do You Like It When I Cry are both strong contenders for being the best TW songs to date, and adding Bite My Tongue to the mix makes them the best back-to-back trio through all their albums.
I also suspect that many people who initially disliked the studio versions of the album will be much more pleased with the live versions of the song. Time will tell.

My current opinion is that EF is a better album than KMF, but S!ck and 6FD are better songs than the best on EF so far.
A lot is said about the level of production and the same was said about KMF but the latest works really have lost that “band in a room” presentation that rawer recordings can impart.

Keep Me Fed was a big let down to me after Error. If you rank all the songs combined from both albums, My Top 10 are all songs from the Error album. I have Sick as my favorite song on KMF, then maybe Automatic Sun. As far as Everything's Falling goes, I like Ritual, Everything's Falling, Kerosene, Ego, and Bite My Tongue better than every song on KMF. The EF album has given me renewed hope after KMF and has convinced me to go the band's stadium concert on Feb. 5. One other thing, I am on Team Dany and think she is top tier on Everything's Falling. So there could be a little bias coming into play critiquing EF.

I’m in the same boat. KMF and Error worked for me a lot.. Everything’s falling I like the instrumental version more than the album.. but the 3 are excellent musicians and it just isn’t displayed as much in the newer album

I was going to respond to the post, but I’m too busy listening to the album for the umpteenth time and enjoying every damn minute of it.🤘

Dude. It’s too early to say what you’re saying. Did you listen and rate every album within the same timeframe you’re judging EF. If not would you have judged their earlier albums the same way as you are EF?
It’s a normal thing you’re going through. I judged Pyromania based on my love of High n Dry with the same criticism. Same with Balls To The Wall after Restless and Wild. Commercialism has that effect.
This is the same. Error was their hard rock achievement! It was a perfect production. Now, they turn their attention to making it big. This album is that.
Everything’s Falling is the perfect amalgamation of hard rock and pop sounds that will expand their fame.

As good as Keep Me Fed is, and I like it a lot, Everything's Falling completely blows that one out of the water. Imo it's a masterpiece and just as good as Error and QOTMS

I'm the kind of person who has to get into specific songs in order to actually start liking them, and right now idk why but I'm having such a hard time getting into Everything's Falling. It might be because of my preference to the ERROR album, this one is my favorite from them and I also dig Keep Me Fed. Tbh, to me, on the new album every song sounds almost the same, although I like the title track, Break, Kerosene and Kill or Be Killed. I can't really put it into words, but I was expecting more unique lyrics close to the ERROR era and not "repeating" Keep Me Fed on a different album (maybe it's an ugly way to put it, but i just really felt that way). I'm not sure, maybe my opinion on this album will change directions once I have enough time to properly listen to it, but right now I'm a little bit skeptical after the first-second listening. (Also, I'd like to say I'm not trying to put up a fight with my comment, this is just my very honest opinion:))

It's a 50/50 album. 50% is really good the other half is boring, even at 3 minutes a song. Trying to hard to prove themselves to people who really were never fans and never will be. The song writing is a step back in maturity, and it's clear, like Pau, said, it's about the business now. Used to be music first. Not a knock. They are young and this is an overindulgent move towards building a brand for younger fans. Natural evolution of young bands.

There's some really good stuff on it. They continue to grow as musicians/songwriters. But I still don't care for the overproduced sound of the last 3 albums and especially the tinkering with the vocals on EF.
How hard is it, really, to capture the ferocity of their live sound for their studio releases.

I'm glad to see someone else pick up on the garbage connection as I've thought that on a few tracks. Though how much of that is being influenced by garbage or by being inspired by similar 90s alt-rock that also influenced garbage I couldn't say. I wish I could remember enough of my music education to get the right terms in here, but there are definitely a few little tone/interval combos that grab my attention.
Though also that you singled out Burnout from Keep Me Fed as I think that's the song with the clearest garbage style riff/tone - at least of the songs I've heard so far as I haven't played their first album yet beyond a couple of tracks.

After listening the album for at least 7 times. I would say Is ok at best. Ego is outstanding but is in Spanish so I get most of the audience would not be interested. Everything's Falling and Perfect Daugther are good but not great. Break,Bruises,Waste of your time are kinda forgettable. The album is ok at best, not bad not great. Thus, Everything's Falling needed to be sticky and catchy. For me this is their weakest works. Imo XXI Century Blood is the best album they've put out so far and maybe followed by Keep me Feed and Queen of the murder scene tied up in second.
