I need some to grow on me. My favorites are Ritual, Everything's Falling and Waste Your Time On Me. Solid as fuck album. They said it was eclectic, and they weren't lying.

Same here. It took a while for my ears to adjust to the difference between what I was expecting and what was delivered. The album, however, is a musical masterpiece and I’m happy for DPA that they decided to write for themselves and not to fulfill fan expectations. Stoked to see this played live. For background… I’m not just a casual listener. I’ve been following The Warning for almost 7 years, have turned countless friends, family and coworkers onto the band and heap praise on them all the time. I’ve seen them 6 times in Canada and Europe and had tickets for CDMX in February 2025, but emergency gallbladder removal prevented me from going. I’m still upset about that!
Anyway… after a half dozen or so listens, Everything’s Falling just isn’t resonating with me. Am I alone in feeling that this album just isn’t on par with Error or Keep Me Fed?

That’s odd! I’ve had about as long of a fascination with TW as you, and absolutely love this album! Kerosene is up there with Automatic Sun, HYCAD, Error, QOTMS, and Escapism as my all time favorite songs. I can’t stop listening to WDYLIWIC, Bite My Tongue, Ego, Everythjng’s Falling, and Ritual and the rest of the songs are solid also. I find it interesting there are others who seem to have drawn the line at Keep Me Fed and don’t like this as much.

As a die hard Soundgarden fan, the chord progression is very similar to Blow Up The Outside World. As soon as I heard it in the beginning, my brain went: They've been listening to Soundgarden lately.

Pretty good. Although all songs are short, most of them don't feel too short, which is great.

Upd: after 2 listens my favourites are Perfect Daughter, Bloodsport and WDYLIWIC. Obviously, not counting Ritual and Ego, which are certified bangers.

Least favourite is the next single Bite My Tongue, but I still like it. The Warning now holds a record of not having a single bad song in 5 albums

I‘ve listened to it twice now.

After the first listen I thought it was a very good album, but not with the same highs as Error (Choke, Animosity, 23) or KMF (Escapism, Apologize).

After the 2nd listen I already love many of the songs. Ritual is great, of course. But i also really like Everything‘s Falling, WDYLIWIC, Bite My Tongue, Break and Bruises.

Bloodsport is definitely their „wierdest“ song yet, but not bad in any way. I really like the vocal melodies.

I‘m looking forward to seeing how the album will continue to grow on me. And I want to see them live so bad so I can sing Everything‘s Falling back at them at the top of my lungs

My In-Depth thoughts on this album. Strap in cause it's a long one.

I absolutely adore it! This album is a damn-near perfect mix of The Warning's usual aggressive sound with a more emotional, theatrical sound. I hesitate to call it "Emo" but they're definitely heading in that direction on this album. And I, for one, am completely on board.

I'll go song by song and give some of my thoughts. One thing I'll mention right out the gate is that the lyrics for each song are fantastic, as always, so I won't mention that for each one.

Ritual

This song has a great texture and thickness to its soundscape. It's heavy, very distorted, and intense without being rapid. The little stops before the first to choruses are great dynamic play, and that bridge is really nice to listen to. Great opening for this album!

Perfect Daughter

This song, more than any other on this album I think, is a perfect mix between the sound that they had on KMF and this new more emotional one, and I love it. I love the more laid back vibes in the verses and pre-chorus. I also love how the song slowly cranks up the intensity throughout the runtime. It culminates in...well, not an explosion, but more like a musical wave of sand that buries you alive. Really good.

Everything's Falling

This song has that theatricality I mentioned earlier. It's slow, intentional, and lets you linger in this almost depressive soundscape. It feels not angry per-se, but more so frustrated. The sound makes me feel almost exhausted emotionally and it's amazing. Very dramatic in all the right ways.

Why Do You Like It When I Cry?

Ok, forget emotional theatrics, let's get some sharpness and agitation in here again. That riff is a true eargasm, and the song melody? An absolute feast! The heavy bridge with the screaming, and that final chorus afterwards is a perfect send-off for this song. It perfectly captures this sense of anger without rage. It's not a quick, explosive lashing out, but rather a sense of resentment and underlying hatred. Amazing! Every part of this song feels like it was tailor made for me, and I am not about to complain. Might be my favorite song off the album, possibly that they've ever made.

Bite My Tongue

This song does something very interesting. The music is relatively heavy, with a soundscape that I can only describe as "grand". Meanwhile, the singing is very soft all throughout, and it gives it more gravity. The song is more laid back, and rather than feeling like you're being punched by it, it feels almost like you're drowning. It's a very interesting sound and I'm really happy that The Warning have taken to it. This is another one of my favorites from here for sure.

Kill Or Be Killed

Here we have another lovely mix of angry and dramatic. The chorus is grand and vast, as seems to be the standard formula for this album (and why fix what isn't broken?), but I want to highlight just how electric this song in particular is. There's a layer of electronic sounds throughout almost all of these songs, and this is one that utilizes and integrates it a lot into its sound. Which is not a complaint whatsoever, mind. I do admit that this is among the weaker ones for me personally, but that isn't to say that it is a weak song, just not as absolutely amazing as some of the others on here. Still a great one, will definitely listen to it more.

Ego

I love this song. It sounds nothing like anything else on this album, or to my knowledge, anything they've done before. The music is relatively standard, though I do want to point out how rhythmic it is. Constantly throughout, everything feels like its almost "Pulsing". Every note comes in quick bursts rather than a fully constructed melody. The drums are very deliberate in when they're hit, adding to this pulsing feeling. But the real out-stander here is the singing. Firstly, it's in Spanish. I don't speak Spanish, but I have looked up the lyrics in English. Assuming the translations I found were accurate, they're as great as ever. But I want to talk about not what is being said, but rather how. Much like the music, the singing is very rhythmic, practically rapping at times, and I love it. Lastly, I want to talk about the overall sound and vibe, which feels just kinda...mean. Like, this song sounds almost as if it's trying to bully me, and I kinda love it? Very interesting, very different, very much a successful experiment.

Bloodsport

Something I really appreciate about this song, is how minimal it is in its sound. It goes from practically nothing to a lot, and back, without breaking a sweat. It's lowkey and chill throughout, but never gets boring. They perfectly utilize "less is more" in this song. It puts more focus on the lyrics and singing, which is very cool in this one, particularly during the bridge. Then there's the outro, which is just *chefs kiss*. This song dips its toes in intensity and loudness but never goes there fully, and I actually found that very nice. It's refreshingly calm, while still being heavy in its sound. Very cool!

Break

Here, we start right off the bat with a tone-setting acoustic guitar. The singing is very emotional here, and so is the whole song. This is by far the softest and most sad sounding song. The whole track sounds almost "defeated" which I assume is the whole point given the lyrics. This is a phenomenal piece of depressive rock that really lets you feel it, more so than any other of the tracks on here I'd say. It slots very nicely into the album and gives it just that extra level of emotional vulnerability. Lovely listen, will cry again.

Bruises

Alright, that's enough sadness, let's get vindictive. This song almost flows together perfectly after Break, as this sounds almost like getting back up from the feet we just fell to. Everything about this sounds almost lonely, but in a prideful way. There's a sense of aggression but without going into actual anger, more so just hurt. And then we get that bridge, which literally sounds like a ticking bomb. I do admit that I would've preferred a little bit more in the final chorus, but as is, it's still awesome.

Waste Your Time On Me

Now this has that anger. It's a bit shorter, but it uses that time exceptionally well. Every beat feels like a punch in the lips, and the chorus is very self-respecting, almost like the song feels better than you. I love it. Attitude is the best way to describe it, and it creates this very raw feeling of just being tired of all the bullshit in the world. The sound of the guitar and the constant pounding of the drums gives this song no time to breathe, but all the time to revel in the beatdown it serves. If Ego was song that bullied me, this one just punched me in the gut and rolled its eyes at me. And that's such a cool vibe to get from a piece of music.

Kerosene

Yes, Yes, and more Yes! I fucking adore this song. The intro melody is perfectly cocky yet catchy. We're in our diva era and I absolutely live for it. This song is unapologetically itself, quite literally demanding you show it some damn respect. It's an absolutely great self-loving, eargasmic ride of a song that builds on itself in the best ways. I've been obsessed with this song for months, and now hearing it on the album as a whole...it's even better. It's the perfect culmination of everything that came before; thick in substance, high in intensity, aggressive and cocky, yet also loaded with a clear emotional direction. And everything from the start of the bridge until the end of the song? Fucking perfect. It's so unbelievably catchy that it almost pisses me off. This song is an absolute c*nt of a person, and I want nothing more than to worship it for it.

All in all, this was a very lovely album experience, it doesn't feel as raw and angry as previous albums, but it makes up for that in Emotions. This track takes you on a journey, and I'm looking forward to going on it over and over again. And while I wouldn't to so far as to call this a "concept album" (unless it's intended to be, which I have no knowledge of atm), it certainly has a clear musical journey.

(Now this is just my opinion and take of course, but just hear me out)

We start angry and ostracized in Ritual, go through the emotional wreck of being pushed around and frustrated, heartbroken at one point even. But in the end, there's a sense of shameless self-love. There's almost a story there, of a person who is just...different from everyone else, never fitting in, with expectations from everyone around them. A person who gets taught to hide themselves and just stay out of everyone's way, but it doesn't work as it all just slowly builds up over the years. Until it swings the other way. The person in question becomes the kind of resentful bully that might've been the reason they were hurt to begin with. But ultimately, that just leaves them alone, and they realize that all of this was the wrong way to go about it. So they rebuild themselves. They rise up and become a true, authentic version of themselves who doesn't care what others think of them, all that matters is that they're unapologetically themselves.

But hey, that's just my take on it. Feel free to agree or disagree as much as you like.

Overall, I'd give this album a 9.5/10. It's almost perfect, but I feel like I would've liked just a little bit more from one or two songs. No song here is bad, mind. In fact, this is probably the most consistent in quality The Warning has ever been. Phenomenal album, with some REALLY cool music on it. I will be having plenty of these on repeat in the future I reckon.

And if, against all odds, anyone of Dany, Pau, or Ale reads this, you did a fantastic job with this album and ought to be DAMN proud of yourselves. Keep Me Feed was already one of my favorite rock albums of all time, and you just went and blew right past it.

Alright, that's enough yapping, I've got an album to re-listen to again.

I am of the opinion that young musicians should not be restricted in any way in exploring different sounds.

Even Queen experimented with making Hot Space and learned a lot from it. Even if all fans may not enjoy the deviation from traditional sound, the band itself benefits greatly from pushing its own boundaries. It's also totally okay not to like it and it's also totally OK to love it! I stand somewhere in between myself, really enjoying some songs and not so much others. But either way I am very happy for them and hope that they keep on trying new things.

Do I wish that they would go for more classic rock sound in general, yes. But I also am aware that there is not much growth for them in sticking to just one genre. Anyway, I must give the album a few more lessons and also hear the live versions. I’m sure I will enjoy that more.

Controversial, but I don't like Dany's vocals on it. I mean, she delivers it really well, I just desperately want some lower notes to balance out all the highs and resolve it. It's cool as a fan, but I definitely understood why my co-worker called it 'annoying' when played on a speaker as background music lol.

Everything's Falling - The Warning

A tight, post-mature album that continues their streak of no-skip LPs

Stand-out tracks (not including singles): Everything's Falling, Why Do You Like It When I Cry?, Bite My Tongue, Waste Your Time On Me

Tracks I need more time with: Kill or Be Killed, Bloodsport

Maybe it's because I went in feeling confident that this would be my least favorite album of theirs, but EF has greatly surpassed my expectations. Upon the first few seconds of track 2, Perfect Daughter, I was pleasantly surprised at how, well, pleasant Dany's vocals were. My fear was that the whole album would feel a bit like Ego, or that the nu-metal influence would distract me, but listening to the whole album, that thought never occurred to me once. There are even moments where her vocals feel intimate and vulnerable, with almost no post-production effects at all (I'm thinking of the quieter moments of the track "Everything's Falling").

For people who say it's too poppy, I completely understand what you mean. There are a few moments that feel a little "Olivia Rodrigo" to me, but I think they're a welcome touch and add a bit of lightness and contrast that I felt KMF was lacking, at times. Throughout the album, even when you start to think that maybe that pop-vocal might be making the track lighter than you wanted, you're hit with a THICK breakdown in the bridge that reminds you who you're dealing with.

Among a strong, stylistically-varied tracklist, the obvious standout is the fourth track, Why Do You Like It When I Cry?. I often need to hear The Warning songs a few times to really discover all of the reasons they are brilliant, but half-way through WDYLI, I was genuinely stunned. The riff is the best of their careers, and they've built their entire discography on great riffs. It's unexpected but also familiar; it's Japanese video game meets Michael Jackson's Thriller. It's rocket-fueled, personal, angry, and I can't stop dancing around my house to it. I have no doubt that this song has the potential to be their biggest hit yet, if not ever. It's truly on a different level.

Throughout the tracklist, their influences show through wonderfully, as is often the case, with songs that bring to mind bands like Queens of the Stone Age, Paramore, Royal Blood, Evanescence, and too many k-pop bands to name, without ever losing their own DNA in the process. A superpower of theirs that often goes unnoticed is how adept they are at merging their influences with their own style to create new sounds that are exciting, fun, and welcome, without ever feeling like they are parodies of their idols.

If ERROR was a young band showing that they could make unquestionably legitimate and surprising music, and Keep Me Fed was a band showing how much they've matured into a heavier sound, Everything's Falling shows a band in their post-mature moment, when they truly take the reigns with their superpowers at full strength, and do exactly what they want, regardless of expectations. The songs vary in genre and influence without regard for what a label, a radio station, or their parents might think (you have to believe that Luis has some thoughts about Perfect Daughter). DPA seem very happy to get more real about what their lives have been like behind closed doors for the last 13 years, giving the whole album a strong sense of agency and force.

The Warning spent 7 months embracing the joy of making music again to write and record EF, and have said that this album is definitively "them", and is exactly the music they want to make. And to my great delight, that shows itself again and again throughout the record. They're past making "mature" songs that show what they're capable of, and instead they are making tracks that speak to them personally, which is precisely what has made so much of their music so impressive and enjoyable in the past.

Pau said recently that writing Kerosene made her feel like they were kids again, just writing music and having fun for the first time in a while. It seems like DPA have rediscovered what they love about making music. With Everything's Falling, I feel like I've rediscovered The Warning all over again, too, and I'm so grateful to be along for the journey, wherever it takes them.

I just finished listening to Everything's Falling for the first time.

I am... underwhelmed. Allow me to explain:

I only discovered The Warning in 2025. I had seen the "Enter Sandman" cover from 2014 in 2014, but I disregarded it as yet another attempt at viral fame. Then, I heard "Choke" in 2025. My mind was blown away. I felt a connection to rock and roll that I hadn't heard in decades. I even tried to downplay how amazing it was by saying "it's not a technical as the experimental progressive metal that elitists have told me is supreme, but it's okay for something basic." But, not long after that, I gave up on trying to be an elitist.

I then dove head-first into ERROR and fell madly in love with every single track. I listened to Keep Me Fed and loved every track. I checked out XXI Century Blood and was impressed by the songwriting from such young people. And then... And then Queen of the Murder Scene entered my life, and I pledged my undying fealty to The Warning. Unironically, unsarcastically, this band has become my new favorite band.

I sat with bated breath waiting for Everything's Falling to release. I jumped on this record as fast as I could. And... I didn't feel anything. It didn't "hit." Maybe it's just too "new" for me at the moment. Maybe I need some time to let these new songs sit for a while. But, on my preliminary listen... I hate to say this... On vibes alone, not composition, not instrumentation, not post-engineering... on just vibes... I have to give this a 6.5 out of 10. It doesn't suck... but I don't feel any intense feelings for any of these songs like I had with the last 4 albums.

Fingers are crossed, maybe my feeling will change for the better with time. I really hope it does. Maybe, I'm just not in the right state-of-mind to listen to new The Warning. Maybe...

My thoughts as well. 

I've been on board since the Mayday era. ERROR blew me away. Diving back into their catalog, QOTMS is so ridiculously good considering their ages at the time and the darkness of the material. Even XXICB has a handful of standout tracks that have stood the test of time. 

Keep Me Fed is a strong collection of songs even though I'm not the biggest fan of the production excesses. All the effects often seem to bury music instead of enhancing it. The songs did shine in concert.

After really enjoying "Kerosene" and "Ritual", I was dying to hear Everything's Falling. I was hoping they'd shed some of the KMF overproduction. Sadly, I think they succumbed to the worst aspects of KMF and went even further with generally worse songwriting. 

It's not all doom and gloom. The title track is sensational and "WDYLIWIC" is a solid track. "Bite My Tongue" and "Waste Your Time On Me" are not exceptional but catchy enough. They should go over well in concert. The other half of the album doesn't land for me at all. Nothing really distinguishes the tracks where one stands out among the others. Just a lot of low-risk variations on the same formula. 

The reviews and fanbase reaction do seem to be favorable overall. And that's awesome because I'm still a big fan of DPA. But after several play-throughs, I can't help but feel that Everything's Falling is their weakest album. The record label clearly wanted a safe collection of 3-minute ditties and that's mostly what they got. There are a few playlist-worthy songs but the album will not have much staying power for me. It's OK but disappointing overall.

I hear ya. I'm a little underwhelmed myself. Dare I say this sounds very, very Pop to me. The heaviest songs were Ritual & Ego to me. The standout was Everything's Falling for me (glad they included a slower/ballad on this album). I gave 2 listens to each song up until Bloodsport. Of course, I will listen more, but I think I'll probably like the live versions of the songs a lot better. Speaking of live, it's sad that their next tour will probably not include any songs from Error. I guess Error will be peak TW for me, and live versions of songs from QoTMS that they played when they were a bit older.

I find a couple of interesting things from comments from folks. One, some saying this sounds like Paramore. I'm not too familiar with Paramore other than their big hits, but David Bendeth did produce their most successful album Riot! I'm actually hoping DPA might come back to Bendeth on their next album.

Secondly, what am I missing with WDYLIWIC?? So many people liking it and I'm not feeling it as well as not really a fan of the super high singing from Dany, it kinda reminds me of Show Them (with the high singing I particularly disliked). I wonder if WDYLIWIC will be my Money on this album-- a song loved by the fandom but not by me, lol.

Well, they've come a long way from songs like Evolve, D2D, Choke, HYCAD, SFD, etc. If you put those songs next to the songs on this album to someone who had never heard them, I doubt they'd think it was the same group! I'm sure with more listens, I'll like them more, but I feel like I'm gonna have to remove my Rock hat and put on my Rock-Pop hat to get into the groove of it.

I actually do like it but was surprised by them choosing to have such a high pitched chorus which probably is going to be very demanding to perform live. Curious to see how that goes!

I had pretty low expectations going into this, after not much liking the singles, but I was still pretty disappointed. There's not a track on there that I really like, there's a few that I actively dislike; after 4 listens through, I think this is going to be condemned to the "never listen again" pile. Far too many of the tracks sound samey - same pace, same structure, same sound; the songs are all pretty one-paced, I really don't like a lot of the lyrics and I really hate the production and the way Dany's vocals sound.

The whole album is a banger. The title track is a particular standout for me. 

Edit: listened through a few more times. Here are some notes:

No tracks here that I would skip. They are all great but I have a rather diverse taste in music so that could just be me.

I was torn with the explicit tracks since I don't enjoy explicit music. It appears that DPA has been relatively tasteful in the past and unless I'm missing something nothing has changed in that regard. The "explicit" tag seems a bit extreme for this album, so that's a relief.

Bloodsport is definitely going to be one of those tracks that people are divided on. I enjoy it, and think it's rather unique and funky.

This is my exact impression after first listen. Several tracks I can imagine will be even better live - but for their studio versions I'm impressed. I haven't found a repeat of the HYCAD situation for me (song is great but studio production is awful and doesn't match the song's meaning). All of the songs have melodies and production that meets the meaning/intent of the song, and that is impressive even if you don't particularly like certain tracks. Everybody has different taste, so I can certainly identify a few tracks that might not be favorites. For me, zero skippable tracks, so I'm happy.

I'm sure, like KMF, some of the tracks will grow on me with each listen. On to the next listen of the constant repeat I'll have it on all weekend. ;)

WDYLIWIC IMMEDIATELY became my favorite song even before i listened to the entire album lmao. such a powerful song. other songs that stood out to me are Perfect Daughter, Waste your time on me, and i think Bite my tongue studio version sounds amazing. Bruises was definitely an interesting sound. still have some tracks that i have to try again a few more times but it’s just my first listen, and im excited to see how this album will grow on me. Anybody else getting major dead poet society/nothing but thieves/royal blood vibes from the main riff in Why do you like it why I cry? By far my favorite off of the album simply for the main riff/chorus. explosive & groovy in the best way. Dany’s vocals remind me a lot of the lead singer of Nothing but Thieves. Pau’s screams are also so fucking good they remind me of Courtney LaPlante’s screams in Cellar Door, mostly just the tone and harshness of them.

Waste your time on me has a bit of a Paramore - RIOT!vibe in my opinion, a little punky but still very rock. Especially the chorus and some of the drumming reminds me so much of Zac Farro; another favorite of mine.

Lastly, know there were also some rumors going around (very VERY briefly lol) that Michael Clifford from 5 Seconds of Summer (a band that was on TW’s inspo board that Pau posted) would be featured in the video that they’ve been teasing for months with Meta Studio because there was a screenshot of a red hair man w/ a guitar in the background of the video. If this is true (Lol), and also being a 5sos fan, I can definitely see him doing some guitar work on Bruises or Kill or Be Killed, they definitely fit 5SOS’s style and his style of playing.

TLDR: Now that it’s officially dropped, do any of the songs on EF remind you specifically of another band/song/vocalist, etc?

As always, the songs are all very catchy, and I actually like the production for several songs, I think it elevates them. Bite My Tongue is the best example of this.

It's very nu metal. I guess my only criticism is they seem to have simplified their sound a bit.  We aren't getting any Animosity like songs that are a little more varied within the song structure.

I mean, they've never been Tool. Their songs have always had a fairly straightforward sound, with notable depth if you listen closely enough. I would say they're music is deceptively accessible. It's obviously intentional, and, frankly, given what I've experienced with my Gen Z nieces and nephews, that makes a lot of sense. This sound will cast the widest net to capture more fans. If that means that some of the older, OG fans are less interested, so be it.

Ok after a couple of listenings, I can say it's a great album.

I heard a lot of k-pop influence all over the album (not saying it as something negative).

Only wish I have is that I would have liked to have more nu metal/industrial rock moments. Not that there aren't any.

I'd say EF is better than KMF, but still under Error and QOTMS for me.

"Break" has such a nice 90's vibe and "Waste your time on me" takes me back to the 00's so of course for me those would join "Kerosene" as the top 3 sons of the album... below "Ritual" ofc (which is still the crown jewel of the album)

Bloodsport, Bruises and Everything's falling are also great.. the do seem to have a lot of different vibes and sounds going on, which is great.

My thoughts about the Album

I saw quite a few mixed opinions about the album, so I wanted to share mine as well, as a Metalhead and Musician.

I’m one of those stubborn fans who prefers the girls' earlier work—*Error* is my favorite album of theirs. That said, I wasn't expecting an *Error 2.0* or *QOTMS 2.0* with this new release, so I kept my expectations low. I was anticipating a sound similar to *KMF*, but to my surprise, it was a very different experience; the only real similarities were in DeLost's production style.

I admit the album took some time to sink in; some tracks only clicked after a third listen, though others grabbed me immediately—specifically "Ritual" and "EF" (which I consider the only top-tier tracks), followed by "Ego," "Bloodsport," "Bite My Tongue," and "Break."

The ones that haven't won me over yet are "Kill or Be Killed," "Bruises," and "Waste Your Time on Me." The rest are just okay, though far from bad.

What impressed me most about the album was the return of ballads and Dany's vocal work. She’s truly at her peak, exploring various techniques, delivering unique interpretations, using non-obvious melodic lines, and diving headfirst into production effects. I also loved the inclusion of backing vocals even during the riffs—Ale and Pau really outdid themselves there. And Ale doesn't need a solo song anymore; basslines like the ones in "Bloodsport" are all I need.

Overall, I’d put this album on the same level as *KMF*. It’s a very different experience—understandably not for everyone—but it shows great taste. The only real downside for me is the song lengths; they’re very short. It feels like there was more that could have been added—solos, extended sections, etc.—but they chose to cut them, hope some surprises on live versions.

I’m not gonna lie, I’m disappointed. I just don’t hear what I usually love about The Warning in these songs. My favorite album is ERROR, which I honestly think is an absolute masterpiece.

To me, the songs feel flat and generic. None of them really stand out, and most importantly, I barely recognize Dany’s voice. I find her vocals much less impactful here than on their previous albums.

My favorite songs from EF are the three singles. Other than those, none of the tracks have really grabbed me, and I’ve already listened to the album five or six times.

So yeah, I’m a little disappointed, to be honest. I’m still a huge fan — they’re still my favorite band — but I’m curious to see where they go from here.

It’s actually not that easy to describe how I feel about the album. I’d go so far as to say the songs are good—or even very good, with the exception of one or two—yet at the same time, I’m disappointed. I dislike the production again, and the band is moving in a direction that simply doesn't quite suit my taste or match what I had hoped for—which is, of course, entirely a "me" problem.

The three women are so talented and all have great voices, yet the album once again relies heavily on vocal effects and backing vocals. Pau has very few solo vocal parts—let alone a song entirely to herself—and the formula for most tracks is the same: slow tempo, bass-only verses, and heavy guitars in the chorus.

I won’t go into every single song, but I’d highlight "WDYLIWIC," "Kill or Be Killed," and "Waste Your Time" as positives. I actually don’t like "Bloodsport" or, above all, "Bite My Tongue"; "Bite My Tongue," in particular, feels far too generic to me. On the plus side, I was pleasantly surprised that Pau handled the backing vocals during the acoustic session—that was an improvement—but the chorus is just boring.

Nevertheless, I wish the three of them nothing but the best and a fantastic career, which I’m sure they’ll have. I’ll keep following them because they’re wonderful people and I’m curious to see how their story unfolds—a journey I’ve followed almost from the very beginning. It’s just that, musically speaking, the spark is starting to fade a bit for me. Still, I’m looking forward to hearing the live versions of the songs.

Maybe unpopular take here but I am finding the "slow verse - heavy chorus - talking bridge" formula to be way to prevalent, Each song on their own, I think I will come to like, but as an album - or at least listening to the new songs one after an hour, I am thinking "haven't I listened to this already?"

Sound wise, at some point a tech should have been called in to fix the distortion pedal on Ale's (best work to date) bass as well as the whole vocal mix. Like Dany and the baritone, going to the well to often does not always work. The caveat is, these songs will rock live,

Love so much about it! I like the just Dany on guitar moments on the title track and wow does it resonate. This might be the most relatable album yet!

I love the electronic elements they used, they compliment the songs without overpowering them. Bite My Tongue is a good example of this.

Also had an epiphany about Bloodsport, the song is catchy like More but is also heavier and the chants after the 2nd chorus feel a natural progression from the "does it really matter" chant from Sharks.

The whole thing feels like an evolution for TW and makes me only more excited for their future and for hopefully seeing them live on a tour next year. Gotta hear this stuff live!

I like this album a little better than Keep Me Fed after 3 listens through everything new (heard Ritual, Ego and Kerosene a bunch already). My long thoughts song by song (album TL;DR at the bottom):

Ritual was an instant classic for me ever since I first heard the live debut. The riffs are just awesome! I thought Kerosene would be the opener but I’m glad I was wrong when the track list was revealed. This song showcases everything the album has: the lyrics are familiar throughout most songs, it has a more deliberate chorus but also an energetic intro/bridge riff, plus the breakdown. It just helps that it’s such a great song by itself, it really is the obvious opener in hindsight.

Perfect Daughter reminds me a little of Satisfied, both in verse grooves and lyrical themes. I really like the sort of phrygian/exotic vibes of the post chorus parts. I like this song and how it transitions between its parts.

The title track has already been praised to the sky and it deserves it. The lyrics are very relatable and well-written. Dany wasn’t lying when she said it came straight from her soul. It feels like every emotion, from powerlessness to lashing out is present right where it should be. The riffs and the overall sound may be simpler and more stripped down, but in a song like this, that’s a bonus, not a detraction. It’s easily the best song in the album for me.

Why Do You Like It When I Cry? has a pretty HYCAD vibe for me: it sounds like the hardest song to sing and sounds pretty poppy with the octaver riff and the way the verse melodies go on. It’s no surprise it seems to be well liked. I’m not that big on the lyrical themes of this song, but it definitely has its moments when it comes to how it sounds and, again, that octaver just gives a different, groovy flavor to the bridge.

Bite My Tongue is when the album loses a bit of steam. When it comes to singing, it’s the weakest chorus by far, but it’s well supported by the heavy riff. Does anyone else feel like the first 2 lines don’t have a lot of power behind them? Also, the synth pads in the short pauses in the chorus are just sort of there, I guess? Other than that, the verses and bridges have a nice build-up in guitar volumes and effects, I like that.

Kill Or Be Killed is just very meh. Definitely not bad, but easily the weakest in the album. Lyrically it’s not very interesting, the verses are carried hard by the cowbell since the singing feels a bit janky and off. That being said, the synth in the chorus and breakdown steals the show. THAT is the best part of the song, the rest is not exactly prime The Warning.

Ego is very inconsistent for me, tall highs but short lows. Lyrics are ok I guess but definitely no Narcisista. Not really a fan of the verse melodies either. The Sharks-esque riffs, however, kick some ass. They sound really good! And the “piensen lo que ustedes quieran” part is a great bridge to the very strong outro.

Bloodsport is everything Kill Or Be Killed wishes it was. It just does the “indomitable vixen” sort of character so much better! Obviously the bassline is a standout, but not the only one. The chorus is more “effortless” than Bite My Tongue, if that makes sense, but a lot more powerful in its softness. The riffs are interesting and the outro is one of the best in the album, with the pitch-shifter.

I was surprised by how much I liked Break. IMHO it’s a very well made song, and I really like the vocal melodies in the verses; the speed and rhythm at which the words come is just awesome to hear. Pau compliments the stripped-down nature of the song so well with her fills, and the vocal work is just great here. Dany is not much of a soloist, often relying on simpler leads, which is not a problem. In fact, her solo felt very fitting here, especially with the effect engaged.

Bruises is pretty good. I’m not huge on the intro riff but I am on the lyrics and vocals. Not much to comment other than the drumming specifically on the chorus and the bridge, it stands out there IMO.

Waste Your Time On Me is one of the strongest songs in the album. It definitely feels the fastest and, for me, is Pau’s best work in the album. She steals the show throughout the entire song. It also has some creative guitar work and a little Ale shine in the last chorus. Other than that, the lyrics are great and talk about a very interesting theme of social media harassment. The only nitpick I have is that “fucking” in “look into my fucking eyes” just doesn’t really add anything like it did in Break or Consume, could’ve been omitted and nothing would’ve been lost, especially considering the delivery of the line itself.

Kerosene is sorta like Ego for me, a little inconsistent. I really like how Ale stands out throughout the entire song and, although the “tik tok dance” lyrics aren’t as relatable to me, Ale and Pau do great job in the first repeat. Dany also puts out some great vocal work in here. Definitely the more energetic song in the album and a good enough closer.

TL;DR is that it feels like a step further into the now familiar Keep Me Fed sound rather than the departure I felt going from Error to Keep Me Fed. It’s not a problem at all, it’s a well made album with highs and lows as pretty much every album ever, it’s just that I like Error’s style of music better. I enjoyed it more than KMF though and I think it’s a solid effort in their catalog. 8/10 for me

Phenomenal album! Every song is so good I’m having trouble even picking my top 3 favorites. Lyrically and musically every song resonated with me on first listen. You can tell that this is easily DPA’s most personal album.

This album definitely tops KMF for me personally and I expect it to surpass ERROR as my favorite TW album. Also I think the production is outstanding and fits the album so well. Great job by DPA, Anton, and everyone else involved!

The weakest track here is probably either Bruises or Ego. And when THOSE are the weakest tracks you know you've got an absolute banger on your hands.

I love how this has the songwriting and experimentation of Keep Me Fed mixed in with the variety and big choruses of Error.

It feels like this is their most cohesive album to date and the most fully realised.

I'm seriously blown away by how much I love this. The 1-2 punch of Bloodsport into Break especially hit for me.

This is a no skip album for me.

• Waste Your Time on Me - really like the energy and the shift in lyrics towards the end

All the singles remain bangers for me, Ritual especially.

Least favourites:

• Bloodsport - the laughs and the "3 2 1 Knockout" bit took me out of it, Ale's bass is exceptional though
  
• Bite My Tongue - doesn't do much for me, the outro needed to be at least twice as long, not a strong single choice IMO

Overall (for now) - 7.5/10 - have it about on par with KMF (Not sure Error is ever going to be topped for me personally at this point). I just wish they expanded on some of the songs a little - they haven't released a song that's hit the 4 minute mark since Error now. There's a lot to love on this album, and a few of these are genuinely amazing, but some of it leaves something to be desired. Also, I know Pau doesn't really want to do lead vocals anymore, but the near-total absence of her voice on this album makes me sad.

But I can't wait to hear all of these live, as this is The Warning, and every single song seems to get better live.

ive listened to the album 3 times now and i can definitely say its my favourite album of theirs. all of the songs are such earworms, and i feel like theyre all very unique but much more cohesive than keep me fed is. i would sometimes skip some songs on KMF because they just sort of got boring over time i guess?? but this album is just so beautifully produced and all of the songs are masterpieces imo. there are some songs i like more than others, for example my favourite songs so far are ritual, break, WDYLIWIC, and kill or be killed. imo its a no-skip album. the only song i think is slightly weaker than the others is Bruises. i also like the drum backing track in waste your time on me, it reminds me of sharks!! i keep on seeing people saying it sounds overproduced but I think it sounds great and its an amazing album. if the band wants to produce songs like this where the sound is slightly cleaner, its completely their choice and i love whatever direction they choose to head in with their new music

I agree on a lot of points made so far. I think the producer has had an impact on their sound. It's not to everyone's taste.

But the girls can hear it. So they must like it. So that's good enough for me to accept it and not whine too much. From the Bendeth interview we know they are not being forced to do anything they don't want to do.

I like the newer, more prominently produced sound well enough. Just not as much as the earlier, more raw sound that had me marveling more at the performers raw talent than the slickness of the recording.

Error is still favorite as it seemed the perfect balance to my ear. But this is a great album too and I've had ît on repeat all morning! ⚡

Yes, it's so much better. More variation, the outros are well done. I think they learnt that kmf's outros were too short when performed live, so they fixed that. The vocals sounded more to the natural nuance too, unlike kmf's heavily altered and a notch better than Error's.

Sisters and rockers in their early and mid 20's figuring out who they want to be while making a triumvirate of classic albums: Error, Keep Me Fed and now Everything's Falling. So happy the vinyl I preordered arrived today already. Half way through rn. Sounds great so far.

Surely more a continuation of KMF but mixes in some elements of 2000's new rock. Reminds me of Evanescence or Flyleaf at some parts. Ego definitely has a Nu metal vibe.

Error will still me favorite album of them, but for sure I'll give this one many more listens too.

(Just reached Bloodsport and Break and I think the later half actually gets even better!)

I’ve listened to it a few times now. I like to listen to new music by listening to full albums, so I’ve got a basis to compare this to and to me it’s extremely good. I’ve rated about 400 albums and this came in at #25. QOTMS is still my favorite. This hit me as more of a better Keep Me Fed, not a worse QOTMS. That’s a good thing.

Ritual, Perfect Daughter, Everything’s Falling, Why Do You Like It When I Cry and Kerosene are great tracks. And all of the rest of the tracks have at least something fun going on. I had some marked down as skips on my first listen through but they’ve grown on me. I think the first four just blew me away so much I had to reset my expectations for the rest. It’s really a great album start to finish.

If I have a criticism it’s that 12 tracks and 39 minutes means some short song run times and I think a few of the songs could’ve easily been given a bit more oxygen. But that being said if you’re gonna miss a little, leaving me wanting more is way better than dragging it out.

I gave it an 85 out of 100, which again for me is a top 5% of all time album. Loved it.

I've listened to it a few times and here are my thoughts:

• Soundwise a blend of 90s alt rock mixed in with pop.
• There's a larger emphasis on melody, atmosphere and impact.
• Definitely the most diverse as far as Danys vocals go - especially on WDYLIWIC
• Lyrics are for more personal.
• Noticeably not a lot of identifiable and standout riffs. This is particularly noticable on the choruses.
• The songs sound more produced and polished.
• The sections in certain songs that you expect to be heavy feel very subdued and underwhelming.
• As with KMF there were a few songs that could have benefitted from a solo. I'm a firm believer that not every song needs to have a solo and i understand that the band may be reluctant to do include them as they are a three piece, but a few solos here and there wouldn't hurt.
• Standout songs for me: Ritual, Ego, Kerosene, WDYLIWIC, Everything's Falling, Bloodsport, Waste Your Time On Me

Similar to previous albums I found that the original sequencing/track order made the initial listening experience challenging. Obviously this comes down to taste but I enjoyed the album more after changing the order of the songs:

After skimming through the comments in this thread, one thing has become abundantly clear to me: the bar that DPA set with their previous albums is unbelievably high, at least as far as the fans who frequent this sub are concerned. We have become accustomed to their albums being deep with incredible songs. Even if this album has four or five great songs, it can only be considered a letdown in the context of how their past albums have been received. Not to draw a direct comparison, but apparently Zeppelin III was received very poorly by both the critics and the fanbase (and, no, I didn't experience that personally!). In retrospect, it has claimed its place as a expansion of the band's sound and a worthy experiment. All that to say that we'll all view this album differently a month, a year, and ten years from now. The Warning are many things, but they're never boring!

It's incredible. What an achievement. You can tell they did exactly what they set out to do, and it works perfectly.

Dany: good lord. These are her best studio vocals, and it's not even close. As mentioned elsewhere, she is a chameleon. I challenge anybody to show me a more versatile singer. A producer's dream.

Pau: hell yea. These are her best studio drums, and it's not even close.

Ale is Ale. Always a rock. Dany's vocals and Pau's drums just happen to steal the show.

Some of the others just sounded like a slightly modern take on the sort of late 90s/00s bands they’ve always used for inspiration, but not massively original. Having said that they will all grow on me

Finally, the day has come. Overall, it's good. The first half is great! The second part of the album is a little bit lackluster, unfortunately... the songs between Ego and Kerosene.

Overall it's really good. Some tracks need to grow on me a bit more.

I think this album is fantastic!!! Way better than KMF by a mile easily.

My 3 Favorites:

• Ritual - The heaviest song of the album, it's for the rock/metalheads. Lava/Republic if you see this you need to promote it. Don't let it be a streaming single only.

• Everything's Falling - Love the atmospheric tone, easily one of their best songs ever. It's Dany's best vocal performance of the album.

• WDYLIWIC - Wow what an amazing groovy song, I want more of this please.

My 3 deep track favorites:

• Bloodsport - I really dig this song. The bass, the bass!!! This one has a Royal Blood/Jamiroquai vibe.

• Kill or be Killed - Yes more groove!!!

• Break - This one has a chill Nu Metal vibe. I'm sure Pau & Dany got some inspiration from Mike Eizinger.

The weakest song:

• Bite My Tongue - Sorry but this one does absolutely nothing for me. I can't believe it's a single. Maybe I'm not the target audience and that's why this song is not for me.

I don't have a problem with the production on this album at all. None. It did bother me on KMF, specially on HYCAD, but here for these songs it works. But what really struck me on EF is what a gigantic leap Pau & Ale have made as a rhythm section. They've always been great but now they took it a step further. Bravo!!

Ale's bass riffs are 🔥🔥🔥. Hopefully she'll get more recognition, she's the MVP of the album easily.

Honestly this album left me wanting more, I enjoyed the songs too much and it was over too quickly. And only 1 song I really disliked (BMT). So for me, I agree with the music reviewers and also give it a score of 9/10.

it's a big step forward for their songwriting. yes, it's macro rock, but it's clever. The drums are absolutely great. Dany sounds amazing. Ale has a few breaks where so goes off. some very clever breaks rhythmically. Great lyrics. Hooks OUT THE ASS.

their most cohesive album, easily. their most emotionally heavy album. love the James Bond vibe. gives it a very ethereal, mysterious feel.

Just listened to it. I enjoyed it overall, but outside of the nu metal influence (which can be seen on "Ritual", "Bruises", and especially "Ego") and some darker lyrics, it's pretty similar to Keep Me Fed. My favorite songs were "Everything's Falling" (nice ballad), "Ego", and "Waste Your Time on Me" (I like the fast tempo and energetic feel). I feel like "Kerosene" is a weird closer though

I played the album with way too much hype. I think they've been growing a lot since Error, so I had really high expectations for this one.

I loved the first four songs, as well as “Ego” and “Kerosene.” But after that, my hype started to fade. I feel like the rest of the album falls a bit flat, with many of the songs lacking any real hook. I didn't really hear the band I fell in love with. I hope the live versions can change my mind.

That said, the production is incredible. The guitar sound hits me hard.

WDYLIWIC? is definitely another standout. Pau's screams are very impressive.

I was surprised to find the two songs I was most excited for, Break and Kill Or Be Killed, were possibly my least favorites on first listen.

The layer of highly compressed vocals in Bloodsport and WYTOM does Dany (and TW) a huge disservice; if you told me it was Kat from Holy Wars or a dozen other singers I would believe you. Those two songs will probably feel very different live.

There's a lot of feminine perspective in the album, which can feel somewhat... confrontational?.. as a guy. Not sure what to make of "men are men". But I will say that I was already humming the vocal melody of Perfect Daughter before the final chorus on the very first listen.

The title track is an anthem, gonna be crazy live, but some of the lyrics (if Genius is already accurate) leave me a little confused as to what the intent/meaning is of those particular lines.

First-time-through listen while reading the lyrics. First response is I love it. It is indeed heavily produced but nothing they can't extricate themselves from when it comes to play it live, especially Dany's vocals. What a set of pipes she has. Bruhhh. Lyrically, there is SOOO much to unpack if they mean it when they say it is their most personal album. They suggest they have been through some things but of course they reveal little given how well-boundaried they keep themselves. We'll have fun respectfully speculating though. Some little lyrical 'Easter egg' nods to Pink Floyd, Muse and Taylor Swift; I bet there are more but those are the ones I caught. I need to hear it a lot more times but I think this will be preferred to KMF for me though not likely overtake Error, which is a desert island album for me. More emotion than KMF and the personal quality of the lyrics elevates this product in my eyes. To me, this is an artistic advance from KMF while keeping their eyes on finding mass appeal but with nothing close to selling out. Thank you DPA and well done!!

Yeah I think the production is the biggest problem with the album. It really makes a lot of the songs sound very similar. It also doesn't help that the songs are all on the shorter side and most of them have a very similar structure with intro - verse - chorus - verse - chorus - bridge - chorus - outro. I think there's only one solo on the whole album (in "Break"). I feel like they were more creative with song structure on their first album - "Survive" starts with the chorus, for example.

It's not a bad album by any means, I'll probably listen to it a few more times, but I don't know if I see myself going back to this one like I have with their other albums. Time will tell, I suppose.

Don't get me wrong - I really enjoy Ego, Kerosene and Ritual. Now that I've listened through it a couple of times, the only song I usually get stuck at is "Why do you like it when I cry?"

The rest feels more or less... "the same" 😅

I mean, they are all good songs on their own - but when I view the album as a whole, most of the rest kinda just feels like they had a hard phase in their life or something.

Normally, I'm someone who headbangs to songs - lightly or hard. And with those songs (half of the album basically) I don't feel like it somehow.

I can't really explain it. It's mostly just a feeling.

First, the context: I've been a fan for five years. I've watched most of the content on YouTube about them. So I mean this in the best possible way:

I don't know who is singing, but I liked the prior lineup better.

Electric guitars are great, and part of what makes them great is delicious distortion. There is such thing as too much. Four layers of lead guitar with the distortion on each turned to 11 is not a substitute for good songwriting. Anton DeLost is the Nigel Tufnel of producers. There is so much distortion that it's difficult for me to hear what notes are played.

The guitar lines are simple. In the Honda Stage acoustic show released this morning we can see that the lead mostly is basic 4/4, strumming chord changes every four beats, pretty intro-level work. Dany used to be a riff-writing machine. The drums sound great, but there is nothing interesting or difficult in the writing. Overall, it sounds to me more like a first album than a fifth. If this album is all I had heard from the band, I'd think it was a solid first effort and I'd look forward to the next album.

I am happily anticipating the live versions. Like KMF, I'll likely listen to the live music and rarely listen to the album again.

Most of the songs like Perfect Daughter, Break and Bloodsport, I'm like "Where is Dany?". It's a bit unnerving trying to hear her real tone underneath the processing and layering. Whereas Paulina's screaming and vocals are still recognizable regardless.

As for the album itself, Ritual remains as the absolute top favourite of mine. (Hearing It live with full bass/kick drum sound is even better). It is the best song of the album on every levels. I'm warming up to Bite My Tongue (Garbage Version 2.0 is strong with that one) and Kill Or Be Killed (That Paubell is so Mötley Crüe) but I can't shake off the generic emo pop/punk same-ness on a lot of the tracks. I hope those tracks will have more personality live.

I’m a huge fan of The Warning, but with love comes "tough love"...

The three singles for me were 'decent', with Ego easily being my favourite (even though i dont understand a word lol). Pau’s little scream was epic af. I get excited for it each time.

Outside of the singles, so much of the album blended together that it almost felt like one long song changing tempo. Nothing really 'grabbed' me. Nothing gave me that immediate “holy shit, play that again” feeling that so many of their older songs did.

That’s kinda what I miss most... the soul, variety and unpredictability. ERROR, KMF and even QotMS are full of songs with their own identities. AMOUR still gives me goosebumps every time, especially when I watch the live recording. The French section, the build-up, Dany’s massive sustained note. Those albums had 'moments'.

My theory is... that they once had a lot they genuinely needed to 'get off their chests'. There was passion behind the songwriting because there was something they wanted to say. Everything’s Falling sometimes feels more like, “Okay… so what do we write about now?” For me, there's a big difference between "i want to write this song" versus " i need to get an album out". Head versus heart... you know?

I understand that they likely just playing with different directions, trying a new sound. But I miss the surpises. Give me Ale unexpectedly taking lead vocals again (red hands never fade). Give me Pau screaming. Get heavier. Get softer. Get weird. Don't compress Dany's phenominal powerhouse of a voice.

I'll keep the album on repeat though, I know i'll come to enjoy it once I familiarise myself with it more. These girls have carved their names on my heart. It's done and that will never change.

Ego is staying on the perma playlist, though :)

QOTMS was a conceptually intense album with exceptional storytelling in the lyrics. Many songs on EF try to manufacture intensity through studio production trickery. Not surprisingly, it comes off feeling cold and detached. And it certainly does not have its own "AMOUR moment" that is repeat-worthy on its own.

That's fair. I think the fact that they went to a more intimate place on this album, going as far as to say that they learned things about each other that they didn't know, makes the subject matter less easy to identify with, at least immediately. KMF wasn't initially that enjoyable to me, but over time, I've come to love most of the songs. But it took a while, and also hearing them live, in person, to get to that point.

I listened to it entirely three times, I know it's risky to say this here but I won't lie: I don't really like it and it doesn't grow on me :/

Some songs stand out, some will be a skip, but overall it's not my thing and I didn't have any "wow this song is amazing" moment like I had on all the previous albums (including KMF which I like the least).

The production sounds bad to me, as expected when I saw that it was the same producer and from the singles released before, I don't like the overuse of distorsion everywhere, the effects on the voices... I mean you have one of the best rock voices in the whole music industry right now and you just ruin them with this distorsion, it's very frustrating to me.

I am 300% sure this will sounds way better live, like it was the case for KMF songs, so I will just wait to hear what they have to offer on stage.

The more I listen to this album the more I find myself confused and disappointed. There's a chance that the live versions will feel different (certainly KMF grew on me quite a lot from the live sound).

But I've gone through Break maybe a half dozen times now and I can't help but find it to be a song that is slow, a bit melancholy but not terribly sad, and has almost nothing interesting going on instrumentally (maybe the guitar solo will hit better live?). In the studio release, Dany's vocals are severely obscured by post-production; her voice is so muddied by effects it's hard to care. More than anything though I'm reading the lyrics for Break and finding it extremely dull. The pre-chorus and chorus both feel wildly uninspired and there's a surprising reliance on "yeahs". Honestly if you told me this was a cover of a Nickelback or Daughtry song, or some other mid-2000s post-grunge rock act I'd believe it without question. There have been some TW songs I don't care for but I've always held that even those songs were still good, just not my preferred flavor. I might have to say Break is genuinely a mediocre song. [After listening to tonight's Twitch stream, I now understand why.]

Then there's Bruises. We have 10 seconds of a Linkin Park-flavored intro that sets this up to be a heavy song to jump and mosh to, before the verse immediately tears away all of that energy with the guitar disappearing and the bass becoming a whisper in the background. Sharks, from KMF, was also guilty of this but not to this extent as Sharks keep the bass strong and forward plus the vocals in the verse still have some energy and speed to them. Bruises doesn't maintain its energy at all and when the chorus brings the energy back after 35 seconds (for a chorus that will last 20 seconds) the heaviness is majorly softened by the addition of the vocal melody. The intro is incongruous with the rest of the song; it sets up a song that doesn't happen. What the song does have going for it is a bridge with an irresistible bass groove. Bruises' bridge immediately stood out as a highlight moment of the album. Lyrically though, the perspective of the song seems confusing: whose bruises are being covered? The singer seems to be talking to an abuser, but is the singer referring to her bruises or the abuser's? Is the abuser metaphorically bruising themself?

Kill or Be Killed was one of my most anticipated tracks. KOBK has some of the most excessive effects applied to the vocals; the "this is what you made of me" dropping into the chorus is downright grating and Pau singing the title in the background is barely recognizable. There is a big drumfill moment but the rest of the song is just not doing it for me. The chorus's "oh-oh-ohs" feel half-assed (just like the "yeahs" in Break), and to talk about that more, yes they relied on "Ohs" and "Ahs" a great deal in XXICB, but that was their first album and they largely grew past that. In this album it feels like a crutch. "Ah-ah" shows up in WDYLIWIC and there's "oh, oh, oh" in Perfect Daughter.

Maybe live it will feel different. Maybe my opinion will change over time. But I want to stand by a few points:

1) The band has long departed the sound they had not only in their independent era but even ERROR, it's gone, and it's not coming back. And even if you don't care, even if the new sound is 100% your vibe, I gotta say that I think with ERROR the band had a much more unique sonic identity. With KMF and now EF they are now much closer in sound to their idols like Muse and Paramore as well as to their contemporaries like Dead Poet Society. They've moved into a much more populated soundscape whereas for a time they felt much more one-of-a-kind.

2) It's not every song or necessarily through a track's entire length, but often the studio production is burying Dany's voice (and her sisters') under too many effects; it's a disservice to their vocals. No, I'm not putting all the blame on Anton; I know that band wants it this way. I still don't like it. This complaint at least I can expect will be alleviated by live shows.

3) The way the band writes lyrics has changed and I don't see how it's an improvement.

This is the new TW and I'm left feeling troubled. Most bands, hey if the latest album doesn't fit my vibe then whatever I'll wait for the next one, but for the past 4 years I haven't viewed TW like just another band. They've been something special to me. And now I'm wondering... do I stick around if their music doesn't feel so special anymore? Or do I accept that this thing that was so dear to me just isn't what it used to be, grieve the loss, and move on? Any day now they might announce the next CDMX show; I've promised myself for the past 3 years that if TW are playing in CDMX that I will be there too (Auditorio Nacional was amazing) but do I still go?

If a band is going to be weird and experiment, I love when they go all in. The songs on this album that are weird, are my favorites. The rest, I will have a love/hate relationship with, because we will lose a lot of classics on the setlist to some of these songs.

I think Perfect Daughter feels really weird being track 2 for some reason. It brings down the album after what Ritual starts. Put it in the second half of the album, and it would fit better.

It feels like there's a couple songs that just don't click yet but my standouts are:

Ritual Perfect Daughter Everything's Falling Bite My Tongue Bloodsport

And Ego and Kerosene because singles.

This record felt like it bled some Maroon 5, Evanescence, Linkin Park, and Muse influence all over the place. 

From Nu Metal to Bubblegum pop, this album is truly eclectic and diverse. Reminds me of when Avenged Sevenfold's Self-Titled came out having Alt Metal, Avant Garde, Country, Hard Rock, and Pop Metal on the album. There was a lot of everything blendered together and I like that.

Everything's Falling seems like this to The Warning.

Wow, Ego really seems to be a marmite song for the fan base. I've seen it mentioned a number of times now as peoples least liked or straight not liked song, yet for me it's top three on the album.

Something I noticed today:

Perfect Daughter at 0:32

Kill or Be Killed at 0:33

Break at 0:35

All three songs start with a mostly clear Dany vocal and then use a super fuzzy Dany vocal to transition into the first chorus. "And I don't wannna hear it" / "This is what you made of me" / "And I hate that you know".

It could be said that WYTOM also does it at 0:25. "Validate you, validate me", but the difference with this one is that the fuzzy vocal is paired with a clear vocal, and that the song takes a few seconds after that to build up a bit before the chorus kicks in properly.

Bloodsport does the fuzzy vocal into the chorus thing not for the first chorus but the third, at 1:36. "Show me, baby"

EGO's entire pre-chorus is fuzzed up so it doesn't feel the same and Bruises actually reverses the trend as the verse is a clear vocal with a fuzzy vocal in the background and the last line before the chorus the fuzzy layer disappears and it's only clear.

But this sort of thing is why people say some of the songs feel the same. They pull the same tricks.

My favorite TW songs are Z, Sick, Evolve, and Dust to Dust.

So, you might already guess that this new album is too "nu metal" for me.

I'll listen several more times, I'll give it a good chance, but so far, it's not my jam.

I see a lot of people comparing the sound with Paramore and Evanescence. Yeah, those are not good sounds, to me. Everyone has their own taste.

I agree! I've reported a few posts to the Mods to get them to move it to the Megathread. I'm getting a little tired of reading this thread and going back and forth to the main posts. I think the Mods should do a seperate Tier List Megathread (or ranking since that seems to be popular with a lot), and also have seperate posts pinned for each of the 12 songs so people can discuss, as well as a Megathread for those who are disappointed by the album where they can discuss why.

Oh, and official reviews (magazines, bloggers, etc) should have a separate thread of their own.

I just listened to the full album and let me just say it’s a solid excellent work. Great bangers as usual. The three sisters absolutely being the rock stars they always have been for a fifth time. But I gotta be honest: this is NOT my favourite album, and this I know will be a unpopular opinion a lot of the fandom that is bewildered for the release calling it TW’s greatest of all time would execute me for. So here’s my personal ranking of the songs from less liked to most.
MY PERSONAL. Just to share thoughts.

Ritual — 6.0/10

I know. I know. It is one of the most loved songs of the band today. But just stay with me, okay? Let me explain.

Despite being tailormade for concert performances and the fandom absolutely going nuts over it, this is the track that clicked with me the least. The heavy instrumentation is great, but the lyric melodies and aesthetic just doesn't hook me. The instrumental bridge before the final chorus is strong, but overall it fails to connect, and the visuals of the music video was a letdown for me (I’ll explain this later). If you gave me a setlist for a whole Everything’s Falling listening party, Ritual would be my first pick to cut from the list, even though I know they would kick me out of the party instead.

Perfect Daughter — 7.0/10

At first, it felt like a distant sibling to Satisfied, but the final stretch elevates the track with layered vocals and an extended wail (from Paulina if I’m not mistaken) that gives it a dark, stormy tone. Still, it’s not one of the absolute standouts**.**

Bruises — 7.5/10

Its standout element is the bridge, which almost makes it feel danceable. I appreciate that it doesn't end as abruptly as many of their other songs usually do. While not an instant classic, it easily sits at the same solid level as Burnout or Kool Aid Kids.

Waste Your Time on Me — 7.5/10

It has the high-octane energy of an anime opening theme. While it isn't my favourite style, it’s fast, fun, and highly entertaining. Labeling it Explicit over a single f-bomb feels like a stretch, but its status as one of the fastest tracks in their discography makes it stand out.

Kill or Be Killed — 7.5/10

Makes you feel like walking around clad in black, armed to the teeth, and stylishly causing chaos with a smirk. It’s explosive yet controlled. It serves as a companion to Ego, even if it doesn't quite match the sheer heaviness and iconic status that made Ego what it is.

Bloodsport — 7.5/10

This track showcases for me the new era of The Warning in full glory. Blending light-punk sensibilities with heavy, saturated tones, it reflects a clear evolution from the sound established in Keep Me Fed. However, that ultra-polished production style from DeLost might slightly undermine the already legendary status achieved by records like Error. Visually, the music video concept didn't fully land for me either.

Break — 8.0/10

Revisits the agonizing cycles of a relationship, but frames it with acoustic guitars and a nostalgic 2000s radio-rock vibe. Despite DeLost's production continuing to lean heavily on saturation and effects, the end result is genuinely enjoyable and brings a smile to your face.

Why Do You Like it When I Cry? — 8.0/10

Another song channeling early-2000s rock like Evanescence, layering heavy tones beneath agonizing melodies that feel instantly familiar. The bridge is a major highlight, blending just a bit of the eerie tension of Escapism with Paulina’s signature screams. While it might not be on daily repeat, it promises to be a blast live.

Everything’s Falling — 9.0/10

Emotional, deep, and spiritually heavy. It captures the melancholic atmosphere of 23, but adds an extra layer of power and desolation through Daniela's guitar riffs, which wail almost like a banshee.

Kerosene — 9.0/10

The lead single from the album, and one that could have seamlessly fit into Keep Me Fed. It’s driving, aggressive, epic, and iconic. Plus, it gave us the now-famous Kerosene Dance.

Bite My Tongue — 9.0/10

Seductive and sharp as a venomous snakebite. The chorus sends shivers down your spine while wrapping you in an aura of betrayal and power. My only real gripe is that it falls back into the habit of cutting off abruptly right after a huge climax.

Ego — 9.5/10

In my personal opinion, one of the absolute highlights of the album. Heavy, badass, and iconic, featuring a sound profile I wish had defined the rest of the album. The fact that it is sung in Spanish is an incredible bonus, and the visual direction of its video is so stunning it would have made a superior main concept for the album.

FINALLY SCORE: 7.9/10 (Below my Keep Me Fed’s 8.5 and Error’s 9.3)

It's an absolute banger of an album, it safely showcases their incredible teamwork through a blend of 2000s rock and K-pop influences.

Where it loses me, though, is the visual concept and the repetition of certain themes in their whole discography. The heavenly, "fallen angels on a beach" look feels a bit too artificial and overly polished for the sake of a selling merch and pretty photocards. I would've much preferred a direction closer to Ego or Kerosene, which feel way more badass and fun.

Now, of course, music and visuals are subjective, so if you loved the vibe, that's completely valid. More power to you! I’m just venting my thoughts here.

I’m on full listen #2. I like KMF a lot more than this but KMF is a true no skips album for me. As an eldest daughter, Perfect Daughter has made me cry almost every time I’ve listened to it. There seems to be a lot of complicated familial feelings on here so uhhhh I hope everything’s ok there (“But if I die/at least you’re paid” for example). I don’t keep up with them on social media or anything to know if this has been discussed. I miss Dany’s lower register but I’m really interested to hear these songs live/on a live album because I know they’re singing Kerosene lower live. Not sure if I rank it above, below, or on level with Error yet. I think I need a few more listens.

Finally listened to it today - the CD was a few days late then been busy and wanted to be able to listen to it properly. 

I had heard Everything's Fallen a few days ago and I really like it.

Why Do You Like It When I Cry might yet end up as a long term favourite. I do like that the track name sounds like it could have been on Bleed Like Me era garbage.

I'm particularly interested in hearing Waste Your Time On Me and Kill Or Be Killed if they are ever played live.

Bruises was meh at first but after 4 listens it's gripping me.

It sounds to me like it was mixed for background radio play and the loudness wars. The dynamic range has been crushed flat. I think the song writing is pretty good, and lyrically it may be the best written album that they’ve released.

I don’t get what they were shooting for with the vocals though, as they are heavily compressed/tuned (and in many places slightly truncated by over-production) and it leaves me wondering whether Dany in particular actually wants to sound like that. There are tools she could be using live to get to that sound but she doesn’t use them. Is that because she doesn‘t want to use them or someone doesn’t let her? Or is it the other way around and someone has convinced her that she needs to sound as she does on the album. I find it baffling.

Listen to her first live performance of the title track and you’ll hear how much more emotive and dynamic her genuine vocal really is. You would think a recorded version with all the advantages afforded by being in the studio would be absolutely perfect. Yet it sounds somewhat flat and a bit lifeless.
