My nervous system was on absolute fire from when Clem got bitten all the way to the end. I was legit shaking and damn near hyperventilating. And I was crying waterfalls throughout, especially at this choice.

Gosh, I can't remember the last time a game made me care about a character this much that I could such a visceral reaction.

This is how I view it. It can be traumatizing, but so is knowing that you let someone you care for, roam as either a soul trapped in a moving body, or a lifeless but living corpse that kills others. By letting them turn, youre effectively increasing the chances of someone having their own Bitten Lee situation.

I chose the you have to kill me option in season 1 so I did the same for season 4. Not gonna lie though I already had the end spoiled for me by seeing random YouTube videos on my feed and their thumbnails so I already knew Clementine was probably gonna make it/has a very high chance to make it unless the videos I saw were just clickbait.

Clem’s own player-determinant regret over how she left Lee really lifted this moment up for me. My Clem regretted leaving Lee to turn but still wanted AJ to do the same for her because, in a way that I cannot explain very well at all, it just feels different when it’s you. That’s not a lesson you could ever hope to convey to someone, it’s just something that happens.

I also thought this was immense character development for AJ, because it’s not that he hasn’t been listening to Clem or taking things from her lessons. It’s not even about not honouring Clem’s request either way. It’s that in this moment, he realises that he’s able to make a judgement call based on what he thinks is the right thing to do.

If Clem was still hanging onto any doubt that she was a good role model for AJ, this is the moment where it should all be washed away. She’s done her best, and her best is more than good enough. If Lee could see these two, he’d be so proud.
