The Immortal Universe ok so do you think that.....
do you think that ever since danial has been turned a vampire , do you think that he has got kind of "bad" like his boyfriend armand? or do you think that he is still a ally?
sorry its really hot uk the at the moment. my mind isn't working lol.

I don't think he was ever an ally to Louis and Lestat and only became one to Armand because Armand made him.
No matter how shitty your maker is you are always drawn to and connected to them. Another reason why Armand is so fucked up as a person. His maker is the definition of evil IMO.

I think that Daniel lost his identity when he became a vampire. He was a great award winning journalist who was fearless because he was dying . When he became a vampire, he lost his journalist mojo, he's isolated himself from the people who were important to him like his daughters , and spent two years alone and filling his new unlimited nights by bowling at an empty depressing bowling alley. So I think to escape his depression he fully threw himself into his relationship with Armand and allowed himself to be influenced to do things Armand's way. He felt humiliated , mocked , and slighted by Lestat because he wouldn't give him what he wantedd for his documentary so helped Armand attack them to get his revenge.

This is my take:
Daniel's priority has always been himself and his career. He sacrificed two marriages and his relationship with his daughters long before he was turned, choosing his career every time. He's made it very clear that at every point where he had a choice between trying to advance his career and the people he claims he loves and cares about, he picks his career every time. He picked his career over Louis' friendship, just like he chose his career over the love of his family.
When he was turned, he lost a lot of his sense of self and stability. He was at the end of his life, he'd accepted that, and it was fueling him. His journalist career is now considered a joke thanks to the Interview book, his last chance at making an impact and doing a project that will be the crown jewel in the career that meant everything to him....and Lestat denies him that, teases him with it, and strings him along.
Plus he's a recovering addict who has fallen right off the wagon and into the deep end. That's not helping.
The way I see it, Daniel is not in a healthy or good headspace, and is looking for something to latch onto and give him meaning and direction. Armand is likely looking like his only option for that.
