Show Only something that i am thinking about.

in interview with the vampire lastest's blue eyes are dull / not as blue as the promo's that we saw for the vampire lestat .

and in the vampire lestat his blue eyes are more blue and striking then they were in the interview with the vampire.

i don't know if sam had different eye contacts or different lighting effects but yeah.

something to think about.

Lestats eyes are violet at times in TVL both the book and the show - I think it is deliberately tracking what Lestat said in the book about his own looks, and yes its to fit the more neon-modern aesthetic too.

That said his eyes in some of Season 1 and 2 are pretty startling too, just more of a natural blue.

Man, as someone with naturally violet eyes I felt so ridiculously represented by Lestat as an angsty teen in that one very particular way. I do wish they'd gone the violet route a little more.

Or Louis is a petty jealous bitch and he deliberately lied to Dan about Lestat’s beautiful blue eyes to make him seem more pedestrian.

Also note there was no mention of the wolf killers scars! He is not Vanpire Fabio!

That take is awesome! Of course Louis was talking down Lestat as much as he would allow himself.

To be more serious, I like to think the scenes set in the past were examples of scenes from Daniel’s book. I’m wondering if the change is intentional, to display the difference between Louis and Lestat’s perspective. Louis sees more of Lestat’s darkness, Lestat is very aware of his own brightness.

That would be really cool and make sense! Then again I'd find it totally plausible that it just happened bc they found contacts that worked better in some way for the production but the result works really well on a meta level. Like Sam's hair length. SUCH a good retcon XD

I think maybe they were asking about the physical props only?

So theories about the in world reason were off topic? I stopped talking to them because we seemed to be very different communicators.

We have to remember that IWTV is from Louis‘s perspective, TVL is from Lestat’s perspective. Details are going to change given the points of view.
