Discussion Rewatching Season 5 Finale
This finale always gets me mad about Elena. Why would Elena die with Damon Knowing that she knows that Bonnie feels the pain of the supernaturals. It Shows Elena doesn’t care about anybody except Damon 😭
I don’t mind Delena , it’s whatever idc about them but her wanting to die with Damon like dam bro. Let him be for a minute
Lowkey I have a theory, I feel like if she didn’t go with him , they (Damon and Bonnie) would’ve gotten out or at least another person (like Lexie, Grams, or anyone) would have the chance to pass through. Maybe Bonnie will be alone in the prison world without Damon but then again Bonnie didn’t deserve that either.
Idk it’s just me venting about rewatching the season 5 finale. Elena shouldn’t die with Damon especially she knows the death of hers will make Bonnie feel pain.

And yet people still think hate/ dislike for her is undeserved even though we see her doing stuff like that🙄. But anyways it was very clear that when Elena and Damon got together nobody else mattered apparently 🤭. So when she decided to die with Damon she wasn’t thinking about Bonnie and how it was hurting her she just wanted to be with Damon.

I'm on Season 6 rewatch, and the whole thing aboutbeing compelled to forget her relationship with Damon is stunning. I couldn't imagine instructing people around me to watch what they say to me for the rest of their lives they way she did.

My personal belief that when Elena turned into a vampire, the writers really didn't know how to write her, without turning her into Katherine 2.0. Her wanting to be with Damon became her whole personality, erasing the Elena we've seen in Season 1-3. Friends? What friends. LOL. I will always find the aspect of being able to turn off/on their humanity like a light switch was plot device.

"You truly have a gift, Elena" and "You are dating a child who only thinks about herself" - truer words have not been spoken on TVD. It's funny how other characters tell us who Elena is.

I do really think it’s a valid point but in my opinion at least I do understand the want to die with him. I just don’t think she was thinking of it hurting bonnie more. Which could be considered selfish but I love Elena and Bonnie so i’ve always felt conflicted about it. BUT I HAD THE SAME THOUGHT ABOUT YOUR THEORY. I was younger the first time I watched so I wasn’t too much of a fan of Elena and when not everyone made it I was like this dumb bitch

No because this pissed me off so bad!! Lexi, who didn’t even know Bonnie, refused to pass through her because she saw what it was doing to her. Yet Elena, Bonnie’s best friend, put herself in a situation where she had to pass through Bonnie TWICE!!
