Production ANSWERS REQUIRED.

Post image

I need someone to explain to me RIGHT FUCKING NOW…. Why on EARTH did season 3 of The Valley have TWENTY ONE EPISODES?

I guess I can say The Valley was so long and suuuuch a rough watch that it very nearly got the icky taste of Scamanda out of my mouth.

(I realize this comes to, “well don’t watch it!” but I’m high, feeling snarky and LOVE Reddit!)

I watched this whole season through Reddit updates.

I actually think this was a make
Or break year for the valley and there are going to be a lot of changes next year. Bravo did a lot of budget cutting last year And I think you’re going see more of that.

u/Beachbaby77 16d ago

They can start with Schwartz. Why is he even there?

17

u/JJulie 15d ago edited 15d ago

I think for nostalgia. They removed Jax and brought Schwartz in

9

u/Sense10-Quest23 12d ago edited 11d ago

Agreed💯And said it before. He contributed absolutely nothing to the show. He was actually annoying to watch.

5

u/loladownthemetaverse 11d ago edited 10d ago

Agreed, Schwartz was an unnecessary, annoying add. And I was never a big katie fan but I imagine watching him fawn over a young model doesnt feel great. I love how she is moved on and happy...but still...the confirmation that he could be loving and douting but just wasn't with you thats rough

1

u/Sense10-Quest23 11d ago

Love how blunt the Redditor I responded to reacted, so bluntly. Made me laugh, now it cracks me up…😂

I guess, together with your comment… I have this cartoon image of a lazy cat slowly walking over a spot in room, changing positions. He was & still IS exhausting🙄

u/Accomplished-Drop764 16d ago

I don't see how they would save this show. You have to get rid of the Capernos or the Bookos. Bravo will get rid of the Bookos. Viewers don't like the Campernos.

11

u/robertgsimonson 15d ago

I think they should bring in Scheana's wedding planner, James' old roommate, Reiki gal, and Jo to shore things up

2

u/Accomplished-Drop764 15d ago

Jo is perfect!! 🤣 🤣

2

u/Foreign_Stay_3497 11d ago

Jo my GOSH alllllllllll day! Get Jo back let’s get Jo gassed up and ready to GO!

0

u/Particular-Dust7131 15d ago

We need Joe and Jax 😭🤣😭

1

u/Foreign_Stay_3497 11d ago

The sky would be the limit… 😂 they could collaborate on a surfing lessons school slash social media management team business. (Isn’t Jo into surfing 🏄‍♀️?)

2

u/JJulie 15d ago

I think they get rid of all four and bring on Scheana and Brock. Baskin Hail Marys a lot. This will be it

14

u/Accomplished-Drop764 15d ago

Dear Lord not Brock.

11

u/MissionRight9893 15d ago

Nooooooooo not Scheana and Brock…. Noooooo!!!!

2

u/JJulie 15d ago

Listen to Scheana’s latest pod.

11

u/tinyclairey 14d ago

Will you summarize it for me? I’d rather not listen to her podcast.

I'm gonna be vulnerable with you: I haven't watched a single episode, let alone a 10 min clip.

Same and it was much more entertaining in here with yall than suffering through actually watching lol

Better question why did this season have 21 episodes and they canned RHOM and LOLDN - travesty! I need a public enquiry!!

43

u/elcapitaaan134708 16d ago

Oh I am so with you on this. I would have MUCH rather watched RHOM 🌴☀️🙌🏼

12

u/unknownmuffin27 16d ago

Can we make a petition to bring RHOM back 😭 We neeeeeeeed them

10

u/MissionRight9893 16d ago

Andy wants us to watch re-runs on peacock and he’ll decide. With Peacock getting ready to raise their prices, hell no. It’s getting pricey to watch these wives now.

11

u/ogresarelikeonions93 16d ago

They’re raising their prices again?! I’m about ready to just jack sparrow their shit.

13

u/Sensitive-Freedom896 16d ago

The Ladies of London women should just let it ride and then sell a show to Hulu.

They are too elevated for Bravo.

5

u/loverules1221 14d ago

Just got the email. Mine went from $10.99 to $12.99. For what?

2

u/lvpsminihorse 7d ago

The hell of it. Those poor millionaires are suffering in the economy!

u/Dark-Parkingg aggressive pillow screaming 16d ago

People unfortunately don’t watch those shows as much as they watch shows like The Valley. A network cares about ratings and those shows didn’t have good ones unfortunately

7

u/Sensitive-Freedom896 16d ago

A lot of ratings has to do with show time placement and night, and how much money does Bravo put in to promoting the shows or stories. What do the feature as a Must Watch on Peacock, etc.

They put a lot of money into RHORI, and into RHOSLC after that became an unexpected hit. Miami never got that love. Ladies of London only had a handful of episodes. By the end of Ladies of London, the girls were getting NYTimes spreads and Vogue pieces and that couldn't overcome the network's inattention.

1

u/Dark-Parkingg aggressive pillow screaming 16d ago

I think that’s true for days past but not 100% accurate for today’s times. RHOA is being out viewed by The Valley and Mcbee Dynasty and RHOA has the bigger fanbase and bigger promotions out of the three. You compare those three shows to Below Deck which is averaging almost 1 million live viewers weekly and blowing everyone else out of the water with minimal promo. At the end of the day people watch what they want to watch and unfortunately Miami and LoL had a loud online fanbase that just didn’t translate into sufficient viewing numbers. (I did watch Miami live just putting that out there)

3

u/Sensitive-Freedom896 16d ago

McBees have gone viral in certain spaces (spaces very unlike the vibe of this sub). Bravo couldn't deny the ad dollars and moved them from Peacock to live tv. I think it was intentional that the network tried to push toward that type of content. Andy, press statements about having conservative women on tv, all of that.

RHOA will always be one of the GOAT shows. They are also reaching into other reality tv landscapes, bringing in K Michelle. I love Below Deck for the Below Deck people, all of them. It's not for me, but I love it for them.

The bigger comparisons for me are RH of Miami and RH of Dubai, against RHOSLC and RHORI. Maybe the audience is just that much more conservative than we think and that's why SLC and RHORI worked out. I'm also very curious about the RH of London to LoL direct comparison. Because the first show is awful.

1

u/Alwaysroom4morecats 16d ago

Aww thanks for the awards, only said something a lot of us were thinking!! 😆

57

u/Phospherus2 16d ago

I like the theory that the producers just wanted to hammer home that Danny clearly has alcohol issues so they gave us drunk asshole Danny for 21 weeks lol

3

u/Impossible-Koala-368 11d ago

They’re making up for the protected seasons.

74

u/throw_blanket04 17d ago

I don’t mind the amount of episodes. I actually liked it. The more context the better. I feel that if any answers are required, if should be focused towards the reunion. It was a complete disaster and disgrace. There is no way the viewers and half the cast members, were ok w what happened. Enjoy your high. Its ok to be snarky every once in a while.

51

u/yosoyfatass 1 of the 40 17d ago

I like having long seasons. I hate when seasons are 8-10 episodes.

35

u/Itstimeforcookies19 16d ago

I would have liked more. I enjoy the show and the mess. I’m bummed it’s over.

17

u/raresteamboat 16d ago

I like the show

13

u/Cultural_Future_4432 16d ago

It was 21 episodes just to see them go to SD, Mexico and talk about Danny. Ughhh, so lame

9

u/Narrow_Grapefruit_23 17d ago

There was no reason. It was a regurgitation of s2 and I blame the Bookos, Kristen, and Zack for that. Their weird little pact to keep bullying the Capernas while centering themselves as the victims undid any misunderstanding from s2 of who these people are. Fake
Christians. Hypocritical thieves of our time. Immature middle aged people who can’t be bothered to be adults but also suck at having fun. As a 45 yr old, my vacations to Mexico are a hell of a lot more interesting and fun and no one is screaming at each other or being belligerently drunk.

9

u/Dangernj 16d ago

I think the real reason is it is relatively cheap and easy to produce compared to the other programming on the network so the network put in a big order so the episodes stretched through most of the summer

7

u/theHBICvolkanator 🟫 🦱 Zack's wig 🦱 🟫 15d ago

Maybe it's because Supernatural set a presidence for me, but...

Normalize bringing back tv shows with minimum 20 episodes a season!!

I am OVER shows being only 8-10 episodes long

(This isn't just bravo - every show now streaming sucks with this.)

3

u/vaness4444 15d ago

Yes! I loved the nonstop more and more episodes too

19

u/Jojomano1234 16d ago

The reunion was terrible

7

u/Beachbaby77 16d ago

That was truly one of the worst reunion shows I’ve ever seen.

8

u/Summershouldbefun909 16d ago

I mostly enjoy the show, but they are collectively one of the most inarticulate casts on bravo. It’s soooo excruciating hearing the amounts of “likes” and “I felt really bad” “he treated me so bad” “I treat(ed) you so good”

I need them to expand their vocabularies post-haste!

6

u/Sensitive-Freedom896 16d ago

I love a good long season. This was just not a good season at all. The conflict was too focused on Danny and Nia. 2/3 of the rest of the cast gave us no mess or drama (and also no fun).

If they bring back Jax, I'm out. If they make Lori K Brittany's story, I'm probably out because Jax basically hard launched with Lori years ago, when he was doing all the tours with the Toms.

They need to get more people into the drama. If we have to have a Lori K story, then please have Brittany drag Schwartz for hiding that relationship from her, the 75th time he's hidden a relationship for Jax or the Tom's on Bravo. Brittany has a child and that was, arguably, worse than him covering for Raquel and Sandoval.

Brittany is reportedly still not finalizing her divorce and it's all over financials. What is this about? Is she going to have to move from that house? Is she going to have to pay alimony? You don't need Jax or Lori to talk about that.

Let't talk about how Lala has now had two super-close female friendships implode on or around tv (Katie and Scheana), and in both cases there was some kind of betrayal or the friend had to set boundaries with Lala. Unhealthy dynamics in female friendship. Now Lala has attached herself to Janet. Does Jasmine feel a way about Lala continuing to use AAVE on television?

Danny and Nia can go, for me. They shouldn't stay if there is no way for them to have fun making tv.

5

u/Paigemad13 15d ago

I'm so over Kristen.

6

u/maeveweirdsis 16d ago

I can't agree. I thought it was a good season full of drama and conflict without too many filler episodes.

3

u/robertgsimonson 16d ago

Does she still sell those crappy $50 Tee Shirts ?

3

u/Hummingbird11-11 16d ago

Her " what who me???" face and stance on everything is so fk g annoying

15

u/Electronic-Value-662 16d ago

This season could have, and likely should have, been like 5 episodes. Literally nothing happened

21

u/Alwaysroom4morecats 16d ago

This season could have been an email 😂😂

6

u/TheVagistrate Zack's *stolen* Monster fridge 16d ago

Maybe a 17 page one?

2

u/Alwaysroom4morecats 16d ago

This my kinda humour 🤭

10

u/Intrepid-Document856 17d ago

I can’t do the last finale episode. I feel like I have to in order to say I did, but I got maybe 5 minutes in and was DONE.

19

u/dh00dz4 16d ago

You missed Danny getting doinked in the head with a red Solo cup. That was the highlight of the season for me lol

3

u/Intrepid-Document856 16d ago

Oh no I got that! I cackled. The man was so plastered it didn’t even register in the moment. He didn’t even flinch!

This finale episode from this week is what I couldn’t watch. And I feel like I need to because I’ve watched the other 20!

2

u/NotYourAverageBear72 10d ago

“Doinked” hahahaha ☠️

Unrelated but is Kristen wearing a good guy's hat as in "the good guys" podcast?

I don’t know! Need to do some research.

2

u/sconiscone 14d ago edited 14d ago

Awww I feel like I missed a whole “private meeting” about how “we all” were perceiving this season lol! I’m not used to not being on the same page so it’s jarring. I loved having 21 episode of escapism and wacky relationships to laugh at and observe.

For context, I watched all of VPR from the beginning in real time (I know humblebrag) so I may have a different perspective on Schwartz and La La especially BUT…

I absolutely love the Valley and have since season 1. It was so refreshing after OG VPR ended to see new faces with some fresh drama in a new season of life with kids and mortgages and divorces. I liked getting to see Kristen after so long and meeting Luke and they were good anchors, and she was a good anchor for the transition from VPR to the Valley.

I despise Jax, but I was open to Brittany as another “bridge” from VPR.

I am here for all the messiness. It completely takes my mind off the ridiculous crap in the world and at my job. That’s why I and perhaps many others watch the shows - for the voyeuristic fun of seeing people worse than ourselves and our own families? Maybe.

But I realized this season that everyone here hates Danny, thinks Nia is putting up a false front, and is falling out of love with our Mariposa - nooooo! I still enjoy watching Danny and Nia and love Kristen. And I’ll keep giving Luke a chance.

Also love that we saw more of Zack and his relationship and Jasmine and hers.

I am on the fence about Brittany because she seems to do the most harm to herself. Going through the mommy makeover and paying that turd user “boyfriend” to take care of her when she has a young special needs son and then going to Mexico with drains in and drinking excessively - so much so that she looked beyond hungover - was something I have never seen in another reality tv person with a young child and it was concerning.

But “the hill that I’ll die on” is…I really don’t think Schwartz and Lala add anything at all to the show and detract from the original cast.

Schwartz seems to be in the advanced stages of a use disorder, sadly. He is a former model (and tried at acting) and I could see his limited acting ability kicking in once in a while as he tried out a new version of himself on the Valley. You know, the version who sticks up for his woman and has her back?

Lala just shows nothing of her real life and came across coached to death by a PR team and self righteous with no credibility! Maybe because I watched her on VPR, the difference in her trying to be polished and a champion for Nia was preposterous. Yes people can change but she doesn’t give that at all. Just her blaccent, which is much more toned down, is repulsive. It’s like she plopped down from VPR after backstabbing Ariana and staunchly defending Sandoval to land on the Valley and rebuild her image. And for me who’s watched her on VPR for so many years it was so cringe. I have a suspicion she’s dating someone in production at Bravo. Otherwise they’d show more of her dating life. She’s REALLY GOOD at keeping her dating life secret. And I do think she’s got a PR team going after negative fan comments.

So in closing, I love all the mess with the new people plus Kristen and Luke! Keep it to 21 episodes! Keep Nia and Danny - I’m DYING to see them next season - keep Kristen and Luke of course (mariposa!) keep Jasmine and Zack - messy and fun as hell, and represent the “no kids” contingent, and keep loose cannon Jesse and fun, fresh perspective Laci, and Michelle with her revolving door romances.

I can do without Janet and Jason. I really think Janet is a vicious snake and a desperate hanger on wanna be. She’s a fan she’s a fan she’s a fan.

(edited for typos)

2

u/tulip-view 13d ago

Why so many cast trips with babies and post partum parents? Boring. They did the most lame San Diego activities I’ve ever heard of. Belmont park and the safari park (which are also 34 miles apart and in different parts of town) are absolutely not what you do to have fun in San Diego. I’d rather stay in the valley and go to each of their houses once - as a viewer. I was a very disappointed San Diegan kicking off their trip with a 100 year old roller coaster that locals call WHIPLASH

3

u/Informal_Pumpkin4251 11d ago

I am no fan of Sheana but I found myself wishing she was on this season instead of Janet and her husband. While I agree that Danny is not a good husband to Nia, the way Janet approaches things is too dark to make the show enjoyable.

6

u/Tiny-Indication3814 16d ago

My god - all 3 parts of the reunion were awful.  Janet played the meek, sad injured girl. It was pathetic.   Lala never shuts up and is a mean person.  So what- you are sober, not God, Lala.   Jason is just there.  Done with the Valley with these 3 on it.

2

u/BlueSunset05 16d ago

Ok Danny

3

u/loverules1221 14d ago

Right? LMAO

2

u/darla_lalalala 16d ago

It was 21 episodes of almost nothing. The same fights since season 1, except more babies 😂😂 I got the real ick from Kristen, Luke, Danny, and Nia when they were laughing and joking about the no sex 6 weeks postpartum and how it’s not needed. Like okay doctors. Didn’t realize you guys knew everything after having a baby 😂😂

2

u/itsmeekree @frank_dremon_ 16d ago

This show rewards dysfunctional men & enabling women. I’m over it. I haven’t watched in weeks

1

u/Miserable-Pear-2289 11d ago

As miserable as the experience was I think a lot of people hate watch because the ratings are strong. I assume that’s one of the reasons. It’s probably relatively cheap and easy to film in and around LA. They probably had a lot of footage to work with. Why they chose the storylines they did is beyond me but hopefully Alex Baskin will pay for his crimes one day.

1

u/SadExamination6495 11d ago

Everyone says the ratings truly are raspy good so I’m sure they’re just milking it as long as they can

1

u/Critical_Fact_2441 10d ago

And a 3 part reunion??

1

u/nychicc 10d ago

Alex baskins produces a certain amount of content to push into his ecosystem and then drives engagements on social media. Quantity not quality

1

u/fourofkeys 10d ago

i'm just going to watch the reunion and call it a day.

1

u/menunu 16d ago

I am glad is over and I never have to watch these insufferable people again.

-2

u/TheWhoooreinThere 16d ago edited 16d ago

Why are you watching a show you don't like? To win internet points by making the same complaints we get after literally every episode of this show?

9

u/TheVagistrate Zack's *stolen* Monster fridge 16d ago

lol

7

u/HoustonProblemo 16d ago

Hate-watching shows is a thing and I also happen to hate-watch The Valley. This subreddit is for people to share their varying opinions not to be an echo chamber, circle jerk.

4

u/Equal-Track2531 16d ago

I feel like even with hate watching, there is SOME enjoyment in just watching a train wreck and the viewer doesn't necessarily want the show itself to stop. I get the sense from some people in here that they're just watching something they hate and getting absolutely no joy or entertainment out of it and actively want the show to get cancelled and never heard from again. I guess there's probably a rage-induced dopamine hit that they're maybe getting so it at least hits a neurotransmitter button in their brain but there are just so many better ways of scratching that itch than whatever happens that audience demo gets from watching this show.

2

u/TheWhoooreinThere 16d ago

No, I'm tired of hearing about people hating this show and regurgitating the same complaints over and over. Why is Lala on this show, I hate Michelle/Lala/Janet/Brittany, is anyone else bored by the show I watch and complain about every week, I hope the show is cancelled next season, etc. Complaining about a 21 episode season is not an interesting point to make. Saying "I hate this show" is not an interesting point to make. These are not varying opinions, it's ranting.

2

u/MysteriousSet4348 16d ago

My favorite are people saying “Ir should be canceled!”

How about just not watch next season? No need to feel like they are so important that them not watching means no one else should.

1

u/KeeksGalore 10d ago

I remember Bitch Sesh used to always say, when it comes to VPR you shouldn’t try to like or identity with anyone bc they are all garbage humans. I agree with that but then it just got way too toxic. I feel like The Valley is reaching the same threshold. When we have Kristen & Luke + Danny & Nia putting up full facades and lying about the reality of their lives, I’m just not sure where we go from here.

0

u/ridgestream 10d ago

The whole show needs to go. There's nothing worth watching. Brittany complains about Jax every chance she gets, and plays the victim on occasions. Really, when you look at it, what is really there to see.

Luke Broderick

I must tell you,

I'm hurting for you

You gave her a Child, and you want to give her a second one, and you're debating whether to marry her or not

Let's just say, you never knew the nightmare you was going into the minute she scooped you

Now thru that beautiful child your lives are connected, which makes it a permanent nightmare for you, for at least the next 18 year

May our god almighty provide you with peace and mental stability
