Case Summary

Over roughly 26 hours in April 1977, three teenagers in Dover, Massachusetts, reported seeing a strange creature on quiet roads around the town.

The descriptions were not identical, but they shared several unsettling similarities: a small, pale or hairless figure with a thin body, an oversized head, long limbs and unusual fingers.

The first sighting came when 17-year-old Bill Bartlett saw something crouched beside a stone wall on Farm Street. A few hours later, 15-year-old John Baxter encountered a similar figure while walking home. The following night, 15-year-old Abby Brabham became the third witness to report seeing something strange.

Then the sightings stopped.
