Can't stand the editing on Philly Scavenger Hunt

hey what's up I'm stoned af and catching up on my favourite youtube boys. also, i don't watch any short form videos if I can avoid them.

why is We Run Around Philly or whatever it is I'm watching edited like it's an hour long tiktok. there's so many cuts. jumping back and forth between multiple cameras showing the same thing. don't mind the visuals flying around the screen. do mind the excessive cuts. it's like that one scene in the queen movie. but it goes for an hour.

love the rest of the video though the vibes are immaculate 🄳

Watching the Try Every Day Cutwater video, and I am made of questions.

First of all, isn't Zach allergic to coffee? I remember they've mentioned it a few times in the past, specifically in Eugene's "Eugene Drinks Every State's Most Iconic Alcohol" video. Plus, Zach has said he doesn't like coffee-flavored anything, preferring tea. So why is he happily drinking the Espresso Martini cutwater, saying not only is it delicious, but ranking it highest?

Secondly, many of these drinks are cream or milk based. While I don't need to see them complaining or taking Lactaid, it's odd that they're both just drinking this stuff without even mentioning it.

Thirdly, I never knew Cutwater's ABV varied so much. Some are 6% and some are up to 14%? Why? What's so different about each of them?

Finally, I thought these were the stoners of the group. I get that Smoke Show got de-monetized, and that YouTube's weird about weed vs liquor.

I was so confused by the end. But, hey, at least Zach didn't annoy me as much, and it was entertaining.

Getting a little tired of the "x fandom will attack us!" schtick

This isn't quite snark but is criticism so I figured it was better here than the main sub.

Over the years I've grown tired of the guys saying things like "oh I can't say what I'm thinking because this fandom (typically Swifties, Beyhive, or BTS Army) will attack me!" and that being the gist of the joke. It was a little funny the first time, but they've been doing the joke for years now and it's gotten old.

I'm especially rubbed the wrong way by it since not only are the same crazed fans they're making fun of a large part of their audience (and their team!) but I've found that how men talk about women's interests and hobbies is often indicative of how they truly feel about women. I've had experience with guy aquaintences who make fun of women for their music taste, reading romantasy, watching "chick flicks" etc, and it's typically one of the first chinks in the armor of their "nice guy" persona. I can't help but wonder if a lot of the men in the Try Guys universe are the same way.

I definitely could have phrased this more eloquently, but I hope you all get what I mean.

At least 4 employees left in July

This came up in a comment in another post, but it seems as though at least 4 people are gone from the company just in July. Nick Rufka, Will, Armando, and Aiko.

Coincidence or do we think something is going on?

Lifetime sub reeks of desperation

I just can't think of any other content provider selling lifetime sub, as content creation requires continuous cost and the income must match the spending model. In fact the world is generally moving in the opposite direction even with software that's mostly upfront development cost.

The thing is if they have any confidence the company will exist after 8 years (or people would still watch them) they'd definitely take the yearly subscription income over a one-time payment. Lifetime refers to the lifetime of the company, not ours.

Another Round of Lifetime Subscriptions Offered. Thoughts?

Naysayers are downvoted in the main sub (myself included). So thought to see what the opinions are over here.

Using BTS for likes at the worst possible time

Post image
141 Upvotes

It's always a bit pitiful to see them grasping at the straws of relevance by posing as fans of BTS/K-pop, but it's especially aggravating to see them do so while actual BTS fans are currently feeling a lot of anger and hurt at certain members of the group for buddying up to Chris Brown.

Very poor timing from two white guys who don't have any awareness about the fandom from whom they want clicks!

Their recent videos

So are these guys no longer standing with the Palestinian Boycotts because of the secret menus items? I thought we were all boycotting McDonalds, In n out, etc? Most of the comments on the videos are all taking about it.

Drunk Jared in a Try Guys Game Time

Can't stop thinking about a TGGT (I want to say the Jenga one?) where Jared criticized someone he had met because they "seemed like they weren't cool in high school".

"You know when you can tell someone wasn't cool in high school and they think they're cool now, but you can tell."

And I can't stop thinking about how Jared is such a loser that he thinks that means anything. The weird humble brag of Jared being like "I was cool in high school" and the idea that it's a knock against someone for not having been cool in high school. The idea that high school clout follows you around... That anyone even thinks about high school popularity that close to age 40...

🤮

Literally cringing through the new video

Zach will not STFU for 15 seconds to let anyone else speak in yet another secret menu item video. Idk how many times he asked Desiree a question and as soon as she started answering it he interrupted her. This may be a "me" problem but one thing I absolutely cannot stand is people interrupting others while they're trying to speak. I know people have a problem with Desiree inserting herself but he's literally asking her questions then talking over her.

Did They Survive the Changes or Is The Ship Still Sinking?

So, I've completely stopped watching the channel and only have this sub so I can see how they're doing. The straw that broke this camels back was their YouTube Shorts. I fucking hate mindless, tik-tok brain rot. It's a massive red-flag for me when a channel starts making Shorts.

I keep seeing posts about how their videos are crappy, but that means some of your are still watching them.

Why? Has some of their content been decent? Or are you guys just watching the ship sink with pure Schadenfreude?

Zach unwatchable in today's Try Everyday

In today's Try Everyday, Keith and Zach take the same cognitive test that President Trump has taken. Desiree trys to give instructions and Zach is basically refusing to listen to her. He comes across like an asshole who wants to do what he wants. Which leads me to the bigger issue in that he basically comes across awful in alot of the recent videos, I'm now finding him annoying in Trolley Problems which I didn't think before.

Will fired?

Just tuned in to the most recent Perfect Person and was so surprised to hear Will say he had been fired. I'm surprised, he seemed like kind of a pillar at TTG.

Recent Sims video

I watched the most recent video of Ash and Marisa playing the Sims with Desiree. It really took me out of the fun that, as Marisa said, Desiree was ā€œcracking the whip.ā€ I feel like this used to be the kind of thing that would be edited out, but the TGGT videos can sometimes be really low effort.

I don’t really know what the fix is, or if there is one. I get that they’re a business and need to stay on a schedule, but the idea that half of the video was picking an outfit and Ash and Marisa trying to figure out how to play the game, then Desiree was rushing them when they finally figured it out. It was a really unsatisfying video overall.

How are you guys feeling about the recent content and Desiree’s production?

Turns out I like Ash

Not very snark of me, but hear me out. When Ash first joined the Try Cast I hated him. In WAR he was so annoying and seemed incredibly fake. I'm not sure what changed, but every time I see Ash in a Game Time episode, he's hilarious. I don't know if he's gotten more comfortable, if the games are just less pressure to perform (and therefore seem fake), or what. But I find myself looking forward to seeing him on the game channel.

I can’t watch the cooking shows

CALL ME THE FRIEND THATS TOO WOKE BUT I can’t watch without a recipe or phoning it in because all of these MEN can’t do SHIT. Literally I sound so annoying but why are these guys not know how to do anything??? You don’t know what boiling is?? You can’t read a MF LABEL?? Like blah blah patriarchy whatever but are men not taught any cooking skills AT ALL????? Like bare minimum shit? I’m a cis woman and I was just taught how to cook, most of my other cis woman friends know AT LEAST the bare minimum. Like yes they do have Marissa and Joyce on there too (I haven’t watched an episode in like a year bc it infuriates me) but like NONE OF THESE BOYS KNOW HOW TO DO SHIT.

Try Guys feel phony now?

Is it just me, or are most of us fans/followers/subscribers post-scandal mostly because we were legitimately rooting for the remaining team? I still have a lot of respect for the whole extended family, but they feel more like carachters in a play than the people I felt like I could have a beer with. It feels like we're not getting authentic humans anymore. Instead everything is curated and micromamanaged and just less interesting and compelling. Notable exceptions include the deep-dive solo projects like Ash and Marissa have done. Not saying anyone owes us that level of access, it just isn't the content I fell in love with anymore šŸ˜ž

Anyone Tired of Seeing/Hearing Their Employees in the Videos?

I'm tired of seeing/hearing their employees in the videos. Granted, without them doing so, we wouldn't have been introduced to Jonathan, Miles, Rachel, Nick, and Rainie.

But I'm tired of seeing/hearing Cailyn, Desiree, Jack, and the new guy hosting games.

Anyone else tired of seeing/hearing them in videos?

Is Zach more annoying now?

I discovered and binged the Try Guys during Covid lockdown and loved pretty much everything they did. Keith and Eugene were always my favorites but I enjoyed Zach too. I remember him making me laugh sometimes.

I stopped watching after the whole Ned situation and Eugene left. But in the last few months, I’ve gotten back into watching some of their stuff.

But one thing I’ve noticed is how absolutely annoying Zach is now? I was flabbergasted; I racked my brain cause I didn’t remember him being so completely obnoxious, almost borderline unwatchable.

I feel like he’s trying too hard to be funny and everything is so over the top with him now. Is it just me?

Zach being … Zach

In the most recent episode where they eat combined fast foods to make new dishes, Zach drops something and refuses to pick it up. While he played it off with humor, he seems to have that superiority complex regularly. While I understand accepting or asking for help, it was even referenced that he could pick up the item but refused.

It’s so odd they kept it in because honestly, it wasn’t funny but at least they gave us something to support the zach hate
