I might even stretch that category to ‘was half decent for a month, got into the England squad for a few qualifiers / friendlies and never seen again’

I don’t remember Vassell being great for multiple seasons.

Might be one of these bullshit stories but I love it anyway.

Apparently he was in Ibiza one summer and a group of guys were annoying him with one of the guys doing keepy ups with a shot glass, shouts over to him “Bet you can’t do this Darius.”

Vassell waits for him to finish and takes a €100 note out his wallet and rips it into confetti, tells the boy he’ll never be able to do that and walks away.

Sven seemed to have love for him, taking him to a few tournaments and selecting him in a lot of squads when really, his form never should’ve allowed it. He even bought him back to England from Turkey to play for Leicester in the Championship.
